The food here is excellent, easily some of the best of this style Mexican food I've had in a while, particularly in the Triad. I've had the ACP and the Quesabirria recently, both are amazing. The free salsa is also very good-- spicier than what a lot of restaurants around here serve. We always start with queso at Mexican restaurants, and it's hard to mess that up, but this one is even better than usual. It is flavorful, spicy, and cheesy (not too watered down / milky). And the portion is huge. I've tried the small with a table of 2 and the large with a table of 4, both were way larger than other restaurants serve at the same price points. The drinks menu in general has a wide variety, and they have a selection of $6 mixed drinks that are both affordable and delicious. Food and drinks are all some of the cheapest around. Staff are friendly. Tables are clean and appropriately spaced out, music is the perfect volume. No complaints. read more

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in High Point, hands down. The food is always great, and the service is good too. My favorite thing to get here is the Guacamole Especial. It's the best guacamole I've had in my life. I could eat it for the rest of my life and die very happy. I also get the Shrimp Peluza. It's delicious. It's got lots of vegetables and shrimp with rice and cheese. I know a lot of the waiters here, and they are wonderful people. I was craving Mexican food all day and convinces my hubs we needed to go to La Hacidena - and they did not disappoint. The last couple times we had gone the service was lacking - not today! First off - FRESH HOT CHIPS and salsa! Our waitress Maria was fabulous and our drinks never ran dry! Hubs got the Burrito Gordo (think all the meat and none of the veggies) I chose to get the California Burrito- while the presentation was lacking the flavors made up for that! We typically don't get desserts when we go out but splurged a bit and got flan and fried ice cream... the flan was delicious but the fried ice cream left a bit to be desired.. The food used to be good there, but not so much this time. The guacamole was terrible. there was no silverware (had to ask for it), the margaritas were weak. Frequently visit here at least once a week great variety of Mexican food. me and my wife got the chicken fajitas came out smoking hot and sizzling like we like. The food was excellent. Sometimes the music is a little loud. The wait Staff is attentive and pretty quick to your needs. read more

My daughter went with her dad to eat here 2 weeks ago on a Wednesday evening, she ordered the ACP like she always does.... But by late that night, early Thursday morning she got extremely sick. She vomited profusely & her stomach was also tore up in other ways FOR FOUR DAYS! I ended up having to take her to the emergency room to find out she had gotten food poisoning. I am 100% sure it was from LaHa because for 4 days she couldn't eat or drink ANYTHING else. She couldn't even hold down ice chips. I was at work that very same week & another employee I work with asked how she was doing & I explained what happened & she said she too got food poisoning a couple weeks before that from LaHa. Guess what she ate? ACP!! This is disheartening because my family and I used to love to eat here. Someone needs to check out what's going on, or wind up with a hospital bill like we did. read more

Food was alright; service was terrible and then they played shady games with the bill by changing prices of items and taking on unnecessary "service" charges. Let me preface they were not busy at the time. There were four parties including mine split between three waitresses. After 10 minutes of waiting for drink refills and cheese dip we had asked for twice I had to get up from my table to find our waitress sitting down in the other room watching TikTok's. Mind you no other waitresses came by to check on tables either. By the time we received our food, that is when our waitress finally brought over chips, but not with cheese dip but with salsa. After asking for cheese dip three times and not getting it, I told our waitress to forget about it. Well when we got our receipt, I review it and see they charged us a $4.58 "service charge" and a $2.00 open food (side of lettuce and tomato). When I questioned the service fee, I am told it's for the chips and cheese dip. I inform them that we never received the chips and cheese dip after multiple requests and that it needs to be removed (still wonder why I was charged a service charge when they have the cheese dip programmed into their POS system). The next receipt I receive, the service charge is removed but then notice they raised the once $2.00 open food charge by an additional $1.50. There is no excuse for this service or shady dealings. I was in a rush the other night when I remembered to check-in on Yelp, and I was SHOCKED to see that there was only one rating and that that one was single star! I wasn't planning on writing a review, but after reading what that single review said I just had to. Let me begin by telling you a little bit about me. My mother was born and raised in Laredo Texas, which is on the border with Mexico. When it was time to learn to cook she was taught by the family's Mexican housekeeper. In Laredo in the 1940's and 50's it was commonplace for most folks to have day laborers from Mexico as workers around the house, and even my grandparents with their merger income could afford to have "Bernabe" (my best guess at the spelling of her name) come to their house a couple days a week. My grandmother didn't cook, so Bernabe would cook and stock the fridge and freezer. I mention this because even though I am not Mexican, to me, Mexican food is home cooking. Fast forward to our move to NC in 1999 and my first Mexican meal was at La Hacienda in High Point. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. The service was the fastest I've ever seen outside of Mexico, and the teamwork of their staff is amazing, but the food was just OK. When my waiter came by after my meal to ask me how I enjoyed it, I just had to tell him that it wasn't what I hoped for, and he said "I'll be right back", and returned with a menu. He pointed to the daily lunch specials and dinners and said in broken English "These, with numbers... They are like Taco Bell!". I was surprised that he was admitting what I had just discovered on my own. He went on to add "And these... without numbers... very good!" What he was pointing out was that the items like the "Special #4" was not made fresh, but was instead plated assembly line style like at Taco Bell. What he directed me to was something they call the Quesadilla Fajita. Because they were located so close to my work I decided to give this new-found knowledge a try, so back I went and after downing half a basket of delicious chips and watery but tasty salsa, I ordered a steak quesadilla fajita. When it arrived a the table I was a bit surprised, because all the quesadilla's that I'd ever had were thin, well, let's just call them Mexican grilled cheese sandwiches. This one was so packed with stuff that they knew I wouldn't be able to pick it up, so they ladle cheese sauce over it and cover that with thinly sliced iceberg lettuce and a just right portion of sour cream, guacamole andPico de gallo. After eating it with a fork and knife I sat back and thought "THIS should be their featured menu item!". The one item that they make in a very non-traditional way, but that we still enjoy is the chili relleno. At La Ha it's more of a cheese dip than a stuffed chili, but eaten as such with corn chips, it's a tasty snack. It's been 13 years since my first visit and thought other, more traditional Mexican places have lured me away more often than not, if I'm in the mood for mexican food that's on my table within three minutes of ordering; consistent in quality and a SPOTLESS dining room; I will not hesitate to visit "La Ha"! At one time or another my family has dined in all of their locations, (2 in High Point, one in Greensboro and one in Ashboro) and though they each have their own personality, the food is always the same. read more

I've eaten at this particular La-Ha location only twice, most recently for lunch over the past weekend. I can say this, the prices are low, the service is on point for the most part, and the food comes out hot. For my part, I ordered the chicken quesadilla lunch special, as it was their special of the day and came with a free drink. I also ordered some queso dip. The chips were pretty good, through the salsa needs improvement. I was glad I had ordered the queso. Which was tasty but a little too thin at first. This got better as it cooled a bit and stuck to the chips better. My quesadilla was just OK. It didn't have cheese in it, and wasn't griddled. I was under the impression both of those things were required in a quesadilla. It did however have plenty of chicken, and I just poured some of my queso into it to give me cheese. Again, the queso saved the day. What I'm saying is, don't be caught off guard, order queso with your meal. At the end there was some confusion about how to pay. There was no one manning the cash register, but my check sat uncollected for some time. I eventually went up and stood there, and someone came to get me settled up. Overall, I wouldn't make a special trip to this place, but it was fine if you're in the area and want a cheap mexican fix. Just don't be caught naked and queso-less. read more

Across the street is a different Mexican restaurant which I found first with decent food but more expensive, versus this place hidden in a corner with amazing food and a better price tag. I get take out mostly and switch between a few dishes which are all fantastic. I asked for an extra salsa once and they remember me when I call and throw it in for me and it's the nicest thing ever that they remember me. New Mgr has caused us to reconsider our loyalty after about 15 years. He has run off all the wait staff and other managers that had been here for years. He is asking current waiters to charge for things like hot sauce etc that have never been charged for before. Bathrooms are nasty. Even after reporting no soap, no towels or disgusting conditions nothing has been taken care of 30-45 minutes later. Bathrooms smell horrible. We still love Rosie and Evelyn!! Forgot to mention how much food quality has declined. Pork Nachos used be excellent but the last time tasted old like fridge and couldn't eat them. Food is inconsistent. read more

I tried La Hacienda considering the Mexican restaurant, that I frequent, can't seem to get things right any longer nor do "some" of the employees act like they care. {Some are amazing but others.....not so much} Anyways, enough about the competition. I called in a lunch order here. Considering I'm vegetarian, I asked for beans, in place of meat. The taco was correct, the burrito wasn't.....it had meat on it. No problem. I went back and notified them of what happened. The amigo working the register said "okay, wait just a moment." I simply took the food in and explained what happened and let him know I would prefer reimbursement since I now didn't have time to eat it. Next thing I know, he not only reimbursed me the meal, but against me telling him twice (nicely) that it's okay, I don't want more food, he literally talked me into staying a couple of minutes so he could ensure that I left with the meal that I initially ordered. That there is FANTASTIC customer service!!!!! He could've just reimbursed me and I would've been pleased but he went above and beyond to make certain I was taken care of. K. U. D. O. The last few times we have been the wait for food has literally been close to or over an hour. Management could only explain they had new kitchen staff which also explained why part of the food was cold while the remaining was burned. We have not been back yet my 18 year old son and his friends asked to go today so I sent them with my credit card. We are always good tippers bc I waited tables all through college. My son called to ask my husband and myself what to do bc upon being seated he was advised they couldn't be seated and served unless they agreed upon a specific service tip. Not due to their party size, just because they they were young men. They left and we will not be returning to their restaurants. read more

I am the girl that goes to every Mexican place and orders the same thing . . . some kind of fajita. Its something you can never go wrong with. But this time, I decided to branch out. We were driving from Raleigh to Charlotte and stopped off here for dinner on our way back. What a great decision. The service was good and the food was great. Chips and salsa were standard and very good. My meal was awesome. Unfortunately I cant remember what it was called. I think it was either the Shrimp - A La Diabla or the Shrimp - Ala Mojo De Ajo. It was shrimp with this cheese sauce that while rich wasn't over powering. It was not to thick. Mixed with the beans and cheese it had the perfect balance. Best Mexican joint in the Triad IMO. I've been going to La Hacienda for probably as long as they've been open. I would say since the mid 90's I've been frequenting the place. I have never received bad service here, and the food is really great! Even when busy, they are VERY fast, every time. I've tried a multitude of dishes here, and there haven't been any I haven't liked. Lately I've been partial to their grilled steak or chicken quesadillas, or a dish they have called Steak Vallarta, which is essentially a ribeye smothered in queso with grilled shrimp on top. Compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area, the steak and chicken they use seems much higher quality. Always tender and fresh tasting. The salsa is fantastic! Chips are kinda "meh". . . I think they could do better. But they are consistent. They've had the same chips since day one. My family loves the place too. Good deals on kid's plates. Until we get an On The Border locally, I'll be hitting La Hacienda at least once every couple weeks to get my Mexican fix. read more

We have grown up with this place as "our Mexican restaurant" but the food and customer service has gone so downhill. We made a last ditch effort and order take out today and it was possibly the worst service I have ever had. We repeated our order SEVERAL times when we called but then once again when we came to pick it up it was all wrong. They fixed the order but not without berating me in front of other customers that i had screwed up when i called in. i felt extremely uncomfortable but suggested that he was wrong and then the dude straight up yelled at me. I tried calling back to speak to management but the same man just continued to yell. We absolutely will NOT be eating at this place again. read more

Super friendly, very quick service even though they were busy, and the food was good as always. Tonight was a strange night. We never had bad service before. When we walked in it was not busy at all. We waited for 10 minutes before getting our drink order and then we waited for refills. They only came to us only every 15 minutes to check on us. We ordered additional condiments to go with our food and ever got that. It will be awhile before we return to La Hacienda. read more

Ambiance is fine and service was great, but most of the food was not good. The Chile Relleno was a pile of cheese - no chile to be found. The bean burrito was super salty do otherwise tasteless. Went during happy they have $3.00 house margaritas so I was more than surprised when I recieved my check and they had charged me 3 extra dollars just to add a flavor, my bill was double the amount it should have been. I then asked was $6 the happy hour price and the man who spoke little English said yes so I asked if they were charging me $3 dollar's for a flavor had I known that I would have went else were. This place has a nice and friendly atmosphere to it. There is a slight Mexican feel to the place. It was pretty clean as far as i could tell. Theys serve free chips and salsa as an appetizer as you wait for your food. The chips aren't the best and the salsa is a little runny, but it's free, so I'm not going to hold it against them. The service was okay, but not exceptional. The food arrived fast, and the servers do their job (although our server accidently spilt food on a person in our group). The food was pretty good. I'll start this review with this thought; we visited this restaurant on Black Friday for dinner so the wait staff may have been worn out; so this may not have been a typical night. It started off simple enough, we were seated immediately and the waiter was over with in about one minute with chips and to take our drink orders. He was back very quickly with the drinks and he began to take our orders; this is where the evening started to go off course. Once he got around to my wife and I, we stated that we would also like a bowl of shredded cheese on the side with our fajitas. There was a translation issue, but I thought we got through it and off he went. He was back about 10 minutes latter with my sons corn dog and fries. Another 10 minutes and my mother's taco salad showed up, followed by my daughters fajitas 5 minutes later and my wife's fajitas yet another five minutes after that. So over the course of 20 minutes the food was delivered. Not all at once, which I consider normal, but spaced out just enough that it would be cold by the time the next persons food arrived. They also brought zero tortillas with the fajitas, so we asked for some and finally got them. My food was missing in action though. After another five minutes, with still no food in sight and compounded by the fact that our waiter was no where to be found, I approached the manager about the entire situation. He was very understanding and checked the ticket to discover my meal had never been entered. He took care of it and I had my food about 4 minutes later. When the bill came he once again apologized profusely and said that he had comped the entire meal. The manager single handedly turned this disaster around and managed to save most of the evening. So I have probably been eating at this la ha for 10 years or more. I visit them sometimes 2 times a week. Last Sunday they were busier than usual and sat us down about the same time as a large table of teenagers and they were carrying on! Eric who always waits on us was overwhelm because these teenagers were being ridiculous. So we didn't ask him for our bill. We just went to the register and told them what we ate like usually do. We paid cash and left and even bought my mints like usual. Well my parents went on Friday afternoon for lunch and Eric said we didn't pay our bill and asked them to take care of it then. Which my parents are reasonable people so they did and had to tell them by memory what we ate bc there wasn't a bill left unpaid for us. So they questioned me and I told them no we paid. So I called right away bc I was at work and they said to call later to talk to manager about it in a few hours. Do I did and explained to the manager that we did pay and he just kept arguing with me that Eric said we didn't get the bill from him so he was convinced that we didn't pay. So I asked him so you are calling me a liar. I eat her sometimes twice a week I would never just skip the bill. He didn't care what I said he made up his mind.
