I come here any time I'm in the mood for Mexican. I usually come at slightly off hours to avoid any wait. We're always greeted and seated fast and friendly. Chips, salsa and queso/cheese dip are amazing here. Their flavored frozen margaritas are the best I've had around here. I didn't think you could screw up Mexican Chicken Soup, but this place did a good job of making the worse soup I have had. Picture warm unseasoned tap water, 3 inch carrots and quarter cut potatoes with chunks of chicken as big as your fist, not care, not love no thought went into this. Today I was craving Mexican food so I decided to go to one of my favorite restaurants in the area. La Hacienda! The food is always delicious and the workers are always nice. I ordered the Enchiladas Rancheras and it was delicious! Be sure to come hungry as the portions are huge! The Enchiladas were perfectly cooked and the sauce was seasoned well without too much salt. The restaurant was well decorated and one could tell they had taken the time to create a nice experience. It's cinco de mayo today. We were given a number & told the wait would be 40-55 mins. We went back in to ask how far along about 10-12 mins later.The person who gave the number said it's going to be a good little while bc u just got here. We when to the store & came back in 20 mins. Appetizer came out after my partners entree about (appetizer =street corn- very good) 10 mins later-my entree came out 10 mins after the street corn came out which... yeah... may b very good service on a regular night but not tonight. Overall, the first entree was received about 855p. Appetizer around 910p(we had to ask about it). My entree around 920p. Food overall 7.5- waitress 8.5. Front door staff 4. Kitchen to table time 6.5. On a $75 tab- we would've bought more drinks but the host put a bad taste in my mouth. Waitress made it better & kitchen or runners kept the motion from the front of the house... On my last visit to La Hacienda, I came in with my family and were greeted at the front by one of the servers who sat us quickly. Upon sitting in our booth, we noticed that booth upholstery appear to be pretty new as if it had been redone recently. The restaurant overall appeared pretty clean. Service was good. Their chips and salsa are really good because the chips come out warm and are light and crispy. I had street tacos in which I chose chicken, steak and chorizo, they were all good, my favorites being the steak and chorizo. The tacos were a pretty nice portion for the price you could almost split them in half and make two tacos out of each one. I requested a side of their. green and red sauce in which the green was hotter than the red, both flavorful. My son had the kids taco, rice and beans meal and he enjoyed it very much. I sipped it down with a medium size the Dos Equis Amber, which was a pretty large mug that came out ice cold. We have been satisfied with La Hacienda because recently because their food is always flavorful and service is consistently good. read more

I love Mexican food and I have several decent Mexican restaurants near my house. Over the years the pandemic has forced many restaurants to change their ways in order to stay afloat. Some have changed the salsa to be just a step above tomato sauce. Some have reduced the size of the portions. Not this place, they have stayed consistent with the food and the service. My husband and I have eaten here a few times and it has been good every time! The service is good (and fast) and the restaurant is clean. We split the Enchiladas Super Rancheros, which was plenty of food for us both. The sauce was very flavorful, and not too salty like at some places. While I have surely trekked many times up and down the menu over time, as this place has been here 25 years (maybe more) my favorites are always the Burrito Loco, Fajita Quesadilla, a pick 3 combination that must include a chile poblano and a tamale, the enchiladas supremas, and of course fajitas Texanas. One under-rated thing about La Ha... maybe also some of the best tea in the area. I always get a half and half mix, and somehow, theirs is always just right. Sweet enough to not be bitter, lots of deep tea flavor. So all this considered, while it may not completely blow you away, I have to upgrade this reliable stand-by to a 5 star rating. It is extremely difficult, especially these days, to be a place where every time you show up you know exactly what to expect in taste, quality, timeliness, friendliness, and cost. My husband and I ate here on Black Friday with 2 of our grandchildren after some shopping. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and seated right away. They were extremely busy but our drink order was taken almost as soon as we sat down. My husband ordered the Arroz con Mariscos which he said was delicious. My grandchildren got the typical quesadilla and I had beef tacos. We also ordered the Mexican Guacamole Paisa as well as the Amigo dip. They were both delicious and one of my grands loved the Amigo dip! I should mention she's my picky eater. The entry needs to be updated as well because as we were leaving it was so crowded that nobody knew who was in line to pay and who was in line to eat. I love Mexican food. I think I could eat it every day. My sister-in-law wanted take-out from here for her birthday. While it is not one of my usual local stops. I was totally down. The lobby area was a bit crowded, as it had people waiting for a table, waiting to pay, and waiting for pickup. This made social distancing not really possible. For me, this is a negative as I felt a bit uncomfortable there waiting for my call-in order. I tend to gravitate towards fajitas as it's a lot of food and on their healthier side. I did like that they had an option for just Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas, opposed to one or the other or the Texanas option with steak. The portion size was good, and all was cooked well. Only green bell peppers (I like a colorful dish, what can I say?) and their fajitas were a little lacking in flavor/spice for my preference, but good enough. I'm a sucker for black beans, so always excited when they are a substitution option. A lot of places the fajitas sides (rice, beans, and guacamole salad) are all together in one of those silver containers. Here you get a full container of just beans and rice- sweet! The salad items were in a separate container, I felt the lettuce was a bit wilted and off colored, so I didn't really get to eat each much of that sadlt. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect when my workplace ordered for everyone. Being vegetarian, I called the day before to find out how they prepared their refried beans - and I was safe. I kept it simple and went with vegetarian quesadillas and I was not disappointed. The combo was great, the cheese in the right amount, and the preparation was perfect. LaHa, as we lovingly refer to it, has been our go-to Mexican restaurant for years. They are consistently excellent servers with excellent food, and huge portions for a reasonable price. My favorite is their giant chicken fajita quesadilla. Perfect combo of fajita veggies and meat all topped with their delicious queso. Since COVID-19 hit, we've visited twice. Both times were later in the evening and so the restaurant was nearly empty. They are doing a great job of keeping the tables distanced and clean. Everyone who works there wears a mask and gloves. We haven't tried their take-out yet, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed. read more

When I walked in I was quickly greeted and given a seat. I ordered a michelada and snacked on their delicious salsa and chips. When they brought it the michelada it was HUGE. It tasted great and had the perfect amount of spiciness. I ordered the ground beef chimichangas. I was skeptically first when they came out because it was so quick and the presentation wasn't that great. Anyways I dug in and they were absolutely delicious! The only thing I would change would be no sour cream but that's my fault for not asking them to take it off. The chimichangas were the perfect texture not to soft or overly crunchy it was great. The meat was seasoned well and the rice was cooked to perfection. I will definitely come back here more. read more

This underrated gem serves great Mexican cuisine. It's a been a go-to for my family since we moved to NC over 3 years ago. My standards are Mexican food are high, as I've lived a majority of my life in Southern California. This place definitely meets that standard. Great Chile Poblanos, Pollo a la Parilla, Carne Asada and grilled shrimp. The tortilla chips they serve as an appetizer are light and crispy, not too greasy. The service is great and the kitchen turns out food quickly, despite being very busy at dinner time . Both the black beans and refried beans are great and they nail the Mexican rice.
