    Excellent beef tacos!

Very good food, decent service, and even better company. If I'm back in WS, I'll probably visit again.

Just okay. This location in the Harris Teeter shopping center does, at least, have better food than the location in Clemmons in my opinion. The salsa and rice are good, which were two of my biggest qualms about the Clemmons location. Not sure why they seem to be so different. This location is a little inconvenient, as it's located in the middle of the shopping center. Guests who would require handicap parking, I'm not really sure that there is any. Just something to be aware of. I sat outside on the patio which was very nice, and dog friendly. It seemed that all the servers were kind of floating around the patio, but we went a solid 20 minutes without chips. The queso was cold by the time they came out and I would expect chips to be the first thing on the table. The drinks didn't taste like they'd been made with a syrupy artificial margarita mix, but they just weren't the best. The salsa is very fresh and delicious. The guacamole had great flavor but the texture was a little weird for me. I expect a fresh, chunky guacamole, and this one was more smooth which almost made me feel like it wasn't fresh. It reminded me of the packaged kind you purchase in the store. I still really liked the flavor, but some fresh chunky texture would help. I ordered the Quesabirria as my entree and it was REALLY good! It came with 3 tacos, double wrapped in a yummy corn tortilla. It had been griddled with the delicious consommé, and packed to the brim with tender, flavorful meat and melty cheese. The consommé was thick and hearty, it really clung to the tortilla, it was great. I love the cilantro and onions in the broth. I personally would've loved extra cilantro and onions on the tacos themselves, but I suppose I could've asked for that. I ordered a side of rice as well and they brought me fries at first. It didn't take a terribly long time for them to bring the rice after this mishap, for which I was grateful. The rice was good, but not my favorite. It could've had a little more flavor! My friend got the ACP Texano and she enjoyed it. I've definitely had some good experiences at Monte D's, but sadly I've never been just BLOWN AWAY. It's easy and quick in a pinch, but with a surplus of similar restaurants in the area, I'm not sure this one stands up against the others. I enjoy the food but there's a bit of work to be done to get to that level of great!

    Lunch fajitas Texanas, bueno!

Solid choice for your mexican food fix on this side of town for sure! Service is always attentive, food is consistently good, and portions are generous. The restaurant itself is tucked back in the middle of the shopping center, you'll see it when you enter, but will need to park off to either the left or right side. Guests with mobility problems will probably prefer to be dropped off in front, because otherwise you've got a small walk with some hills and stairs. I typically go for lunch and get the lunch fajitas texanas. More than enough for a dinner portion really, plenty of both grilled meat and veggies, and your usual accouterments of beans, rice, salad. Everything is well season, served sizzling hot even though they don't bring out the skillet at lunch time. Solid chips and salsa. What's not to like?

This place is bomb! Of course, they had great chips and salsa to start. I got carne asada tacos and they were so tasty. The meat was seasoned well and was a good portion size. They have late hours and not too crowded, we were happy we tried this place out!

We eat here often. We had dinner on Thursday as a family here. In need of some quick dinner, close to home. We had great service. The food was yummy as always. The fajita quesadilla is enormous. Everyone enjoyed their food. Chips and salsa here are always fresh. The margarita is great here. Doesn't just taste like sprite. The lunch specials are great, although we don't go for lunch often. We like the outside space they have available. We never have any issues here.

I have eaten here a few times and either it used to be better, or I ordered the wrong dish, or having eaten at Domingo's in Mocksville I expect better now. Most recent visit I ordered the carnitas bonitas (or something similarly named). It was some bland, sauceless pork with onions and peppers arrayed around it like a flower. No tortillas, no jalapenos. Boring and bland. I'd like to say I will go back again to give them another chance, but with other better options around I don't now that I will.

I wasn't very hungry so I wanted something that wasn't a huge portion. I figured a shrimp dish would be a lighter option so I ordered the Camarones Coco. Honestly, I didn't pay much attention to what came with it. I was there for the shrimp! It came with a chipotle pineapple sauce that was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the coconut shrimp. My husband ordered the East Coast Burrito, and it was huge! It was packed with steak and came with a large side salad. He could only finish about half of the burrito. He enjoyed it though. I also ordered a Piña Colada. I don't often see restaurants that serve them so I had to try one. I could've done without the whipped cream but the drink itself was really good. I honestly couldn't taste the alcohol... but it definitely caught up with me. LOL The only downside for me is the size of the Tamarindo Agua Fresca. I wish they served it in a large cup like Los Juanes does. Overall, I think the food here is really good and I'm honestly surprised I don't hear more people talking about this place.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't busy at all. We got our food ordered, I go the Pollo a la crema. Pricing felt a little on the high side for a Mexican restaurant, but that just seems to be the case across the board. I'd definitely go back again, and would recommend to others. We enjoyed the food, the service, and atmosphere.

Not only did I have the pleasure of trying this absolutely amazing dish, I had the pleasure of having leftovers. Let me tell y'all. This? This is food. This is where culture means Cajun. This is where innovation meets culinary. A quick run down of what we're looking at here. First, I have the seafood boat. A LITERAL boat topped with a fish as the sail. Ugly fish staring at me, but absolutely delicious. Crispy. Yummy. The boat had the BEST ceviche I've ever had the pleasure of devouring. Fresh, seafoody, and scrumptious. Pair this with crab, extremely crispy fried shrimp, oysters, more shrimp, and so many things I could write a post about just this item and still feel like it's not enough. Second, I have the House Sauce Seafood Boil. Now, this is just the prototype. They're also wanting to add sausage to this, make different types, as well as do a headless shrimp version. This was... What can I say? Delicious? Juicy? Scrumptious? What I do know to say is this: I'd buy it again. It was massive, it was filling, it was messy. Last and not least, we have the Super Fajitas. 4 kinds of meat, vegetables, tortillas. This is a meat lover's dream with sour cream. Delectable. Sizzling. Fresh. Mmm. Leftovers. The fancy drink? Locarita. Pink Flamingo or something like that. That was allllll my wife's and she savored every sip. There was more than enough food here. We ended up with enough leftovers to last us a year, I swear. Try it out. Let me know. Let's geek out about fresh food from a fantastic staff with the best food, and honestly, the best family environment. Bonus picture of my wife kissing the ugly fish. My ceviche was dry and lacked the freshness and flavor I was expecting from a Mexican mariscos restaurant. I probably should have trusted my first impression when I arrived not a single mexican in there because the overall experience just didn't live up to expectations. Giving this place 3 stars mainly because our waiter was excellent and genuinely made an effort to provide great service.

The ordering system is flawed - there was just the 1 person taking orders and bringing the food and drink. This and a slow kitchen resulted is waits for everyone. It took well over 20 minutes to get my meal, but when it did arrive it was decently done, but like all versions I've tried, it was far from an authentic dish. The ranchero sauce was a deep red, a richer red color than I have seen before in this sauce. It was rather chunky and was really mild, I doubt there were any peppers ( most often jalapeños are used) in the sauce I was served. While the eggs were not overcooked ( both yolks were runny), the tortillas were separate and were not fried. And the refried beans were separate, as well! The only items that were combined were the eggs and the sauce. This was not a bad dish, but neither was it Huevos Rancheros. One of the key elements that makes the authentic version such a hardy classic is the combination of tastes and textures from the combination of ingredients. And one of those important items are the fried eggs with the yolks still runny - this adds a certain creaminess to the underlying sauce. I'll keep looking for an acceptable version of this dish.

From the moment we sat down, the food just kept coming--and everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. We tried a variety of dishes including quesadillas, taquitos, tacos (steak, carnitas, and beef), a burrito we shared, and even a sizzling skillet that was SO good. You could tell the food wasn't just sitting--it was coming out fresh and made with care. The margaritas were definitely a highlight. They had a wide variety, and the drinks were flowing all night. I personally had a skinny margarita (recommended by our waitress), and it did not disappoint. One thing I really appreciated was them giving us a preview of their weekend brunch menu. They had pancakes, eggs, and even brunch-only refreshers for those who don't drink, which I thought was a nice touch and shows they're thinking about all types of guests. Beyond the food, it was nice hearing the story behind the restaurant and how the name Ma'Luz was inspired by family. You can tell they take pride in what they've built and their presence in the Triad. Overall, it was a great night with great food, strong drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Dropping in recently, I didn't see many changes to the interior of the restaurant from its previous incarnation. The menu seemed a bit different, at least in design and layout, and I noticed at least a few options I didn't recall from the Mi Pueblo days. I picked once of those, pork in salsa verde. In the meantime I sipped on a simple margarita and ate a few chips. My time here was during dinner hours, and I was really surprised to see how few patrons were present. The waiter said that wasn't unusual for an evening early in the week, and that business was substantially heavier in the later half of the week. Throughout my time in the eatery, I'm certain there were more employees on site than there were diners. The kitchen was able to process my order very quickly, likely a result of the low patronage, and so I didn't get to eat many of those chips before my plate showed up. The chunks of pork were tender enough to pull apart with my fork, and the green sauce surrounding them had a pleasant flavor and the right amount of potency for me. I hardly had enough of the salsa to accompany the meat though; a less stingy portion would have been appreciated. Rice and beans were about what you'd find at any Mexican restaurant in our area. The guac salad seemed very light on guacamole though, and the lettuce shreds were pale white. The menu has mentioned there would be avocado slices on the plate too, but no avocado was provided aside from that found within the tiny blob of guacamole. I remember hearing that the transition to Ma'Luz was intended to represent an upscaling, a somewhat fancier option. My experience didn't really feel that way. The food wasn't bad, especially the meat and salsa verde, but this didn't come across as any more special or satisfying an experience as in visits past. And maybe that's why the traffic they're getting isn't all that hectic or busy.
