We had the chance to visit Ma'Luz in Clemmons (formerly Mi Pueblo) for a content creators dinner, and overall it was a really great experience. From the moment we sat down, the food just kept coming--and everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. We tried a variety of dishes including quesadillas, taquitos, tacos (steak, carnitas, and beef), a burrito we shared, and even a sizzling skillet that was SO good. You could tell the food wasn't just sitting--it was coming out fresh and made with care. The margaritas were definitely a highlight. They had a wide variety, and the drinks were flowing all night. I personally had a skinny margarita (recommended by our waitress), and it did not disappoint. One thing I really appreciated was them giving us a preview of their weekend brunch menu. They had pancakes, eggs, and even brunch-only refreshers for those who don't drink, which I thought was a nice touch and shows they're thinking about all types of guests. Beyond the food, it was nice hearing the story behind the restaurant and how the name Ma'Luz was inspired by family. You can tell they take pride in what they've built and their presence in the Triad. Overall, it was a great night with great food, strong drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely come back--especially to try more of the menu (and next time I'm getting a margarita flight because I missed out ). read more

I recall when this location was named Mi Pueblo, and my last visit was well before the name change occurred. Dropping in recently, I didn't see many changes to the interior of the restaurant from its previous incarnation. The menu seemed a bit different, at least in design and layout, and I noticed at least a few options I didn't recall from the Mi Pueblo days. I picked once of those, pork in salsa verde. In the meantime I sipped on a simple margarita and ate a few chips. My time here was during dinner hours, and I was really surprised to see how few patrons were present. The waiter said that wasn't unusual for an evening early in the week, and that business was substantially heavier in the later half of the week. Throughout my time in the eatery, I'm certain there were more employees on site than there were diners. The kitchen was able to process my order very quickly, likely a result of the low patronage, and so I didn't get to eat many of those chips before my plate showed up. The chunks of pork were tender enough to pull apart with my fork, and the green sauce surrounding them had a pleasant flavor and the right amount of potency for me. I hardly had enough of the salsa to accompany the meat though; a less stingy portion would have been appreciated. Rice and beans were about what you'd find at any Mexican restaurant in our area. The guac salad seemed very light on guacamole though, and the lettuce shreds were pale white. The menu has mentioned there would be avocado slices on the plate too, but no avocado was provided aside from that found within the tiny blob of guacamole. I remember hearing that the transition to Ma'Luz was intended to represent an upscaling, a somewhat fancier option. My experience didn't really feel that way. The food wasn't bad, especially the meat and salsa verde, but this didn't come across as any more special or satisfying an experience as in visits past. And maybe that's why the traffic they're getting isn't all that hectic or busy. read more

You brought a group of friends to express our appreciation for their help with my son's move. Despite it being New Year's Day, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel valued and at home. What impressed us the most was their willingness to offer the lunch menu on a holiday. My wife and I both had the lunch ACP and it was great. Everyone said that their dishes were equally wonderful. The food was delicious and the staff provided both kind and helpful service throughout our visit. The restaurant had plenty of space so it was easy to accommodate the group. Came here with a group of friends to thank them for helping my son move. It was New Years Day and we were one of a few groups there but the service was still amazing and they made us feel welcomed. I ate at Mi Pueblo in Clemmons, NC and ordered the fajita lunch special. The chicken tasted freshly cooked, the veggies weren't mushy, and everything on the plate had good flavor. It definitely tasted fresh, not like it had been sitting around. The fajitas came with a guacamole salad, and that part was actually really good. Fresh ingredients, nice flavor, and it went well with the meal. Before the entrée, I got chips, queso, salsa, and an appetizer guacamole. The chips were fresh, the queso was smooth, and the salsa had a good flavor but was definitely on the spicier side. The only problem was the appetizer guacamole. I asked specifically for no jalapeño and no cilantro, but what I got was pretty off. The avocados were really hard and not ripe, and it wasn't mashed or seasoned at all -- no lime, no salt, no onion, nothing. It was basically just chunks of underripe avocado and tomato thrown on top. It didn't match the quality of the rest of the food. Even with that issue, the main meal was good, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the service was friendly. The restaurant definitely has potential -- the entrée proved that. Overall, I'm giving Mi Pueblo in Clemmons a solid 4 stars. We came shortly after the name change and have thoroughly enjoyed the new menu and the staff is always great. They started brunch last Saturday and we decided to check it out this weekend. Definitely a great decision. Our meal was complete with huevos rancheros, chilaquiles and watermelon margaritas. They offer everything from sweet to savory with margarita and mimosa flights to pitchers that are on sale Friday-Sunday. If you haven't checked it out yet, it's definitely worth it and ask for Jeronimo. He's awesome. read more

My family had my Wife's birthday at your Clemmons location today around 1:30. Our server did not respond very well. I had to order a beer for my wife four (4) times. I ordered the steak fajitas. It came out on a plate instead of on a hot fry type pan. The server finished giving everyone their food and he left. He finally came back after about 10 minutes, and I asked where my tortillas were. he went and got them, and my food had cooled off. Didn't see him again until he brought the checks. I noticed there was a "Large Party/Auto Grat (20.00%))". Asked him about it and he said yes. I could not find where you have that posted. Usually restaurants do that for parties of 8 or more. This place is consistently very good on all levels of customer service, food quality, staff and cleanliness. This waitress today was absolutely amazing handling a party of 10. I ordered sopas which were very good. Will get them again. Their complimentary salsa actually has flavor when compared to other places. When in the Clemmons area this has become our go to place for sure. read more

I felt like having a Mexican meal for lunch so I stopped in here. This is an rather upscale, attractive inside land out. I have eaten at the other two Mi Pueblo's in the general area with a bit of mixed results - 1 very good, 1not good at all. So I'm looking for a tie breaker on the positive side! Greeted and seated quickly, beverage and food orders taken quickly as well. Always a good sign when this happens shortly after opening, means they're ready for business. I ordered Huevos Rancheros with the eggs cooked over easy. The meal was out in about 10 minutes. The eggs were way over cooked, centers were solid. In addition the eggs were not served on a freshly fried tortilla as is traditional. The ranchero sauce was good, if a bit mild, but that was small solace at this point. If I could give zero stars I would. Not sure what happened to this place but the last two times have been god awful. We went about 3 months ago and the food was terrible then. We thought they just had an off day but it was so bad we stayed away for quite a while. Had a craving for mexican so we decided to give them another shot, somehow it was worse than before. Anything fried tastes like they havent changed the fryer in a month, the chips are stale (how do you get stale chips at a Mexican joint), the guacamole was brown, food is not remotely hot, and the amount of onions in the ground beef is insane. I like onions, I cook most of my food with onion. But this? There's more onion in my ground beef enchilada than actual ground beef. If youre looking for good Mexican food in Clemmons, do yourself a favor and stay away from here. Go to Don Zapatas in Winston. read more

I really like Mi Pueblo and have for the past 10-15 years. I either go to Clemmons or the Stratford Rd locations and I've never had a bad meal at either one! This particular day, we went around 2:00 on a Saturday and were seated immediately. The service was fast and efficient. I love ordering from the lunch menu because my favorite dinner entrees are condensed into a smaller lunch size portion which is perfect when you don't want a heap of food in front of you. The Lunch ACC (shrimp) was soooo good. The shrimp were plump and not overly cooked or rubbery. The rice is perfectly cooked and really soaks up that cheese sauce well. I added peppers and onions to mine which is a must. The vegetables were perfectly sautéed - not too crunchy but also not too slimy. I understand that most of the dishes offered here aren't necessarily "authentic" but boy, are they delicious! I recommend Mi Pueblo if you're looking for a some solid Mexican food. read more

One of my favorites in the area. Guacamole Regional is a must for an appetizer. Wonderful mix with just enough heat and great chips. I typically get the tacos or Across the Border Fajitas. So I have been going to various Mi Pueblo locations over the last 10+ years but I had never stopped in to the clemmons spot. We went last weekend and had such a great time. The salsa was super flavorful and their homemade hot sauce was great! I ordered the Jose Cuervo margarita special and it had the perfect blend of flavor and tequila. We shared the chicken flautas. My cousin recommended this restaurant to me, and it was very good. The service was excellent; they checked on us very consistently throughout our meal and was on top of our drink and chip refills. The salsa was definitely one of the best I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant, and the food was delicious. They even let us take chips and salsa to go (they gave us a new bag) without charging us extra. Would recommend. They are practicing social distancing right now with seating being every other table, and the servers are all wearing masks. read more

Clemmons, North Carolina Location.... Dined in 2/19/2023, Evening, party of 8, Grand-daughters 15th BD. Ordered the Supreme ACP-No steak, GP or Broccoli. Rec'd plate full of Steak, waiter checks his order pad says order I got is in-fact WRONG; Takes plate back to kitchen, few minutes later, returns same plate, with steak covered in white cheese sauce and several pieces of chicken on top of white sauce w/same steak hidden below. In pointing out all the steak that still remains the waiter says it is NOT steak but chicken. Waiter laughs says "Just push the steak to the side." I tell him I am not allowed red meat and he refuses to remake the order. So, I just had the chips and Cheese Queso. I asked for a small dessert w/ a candle for my Grand-Daughter, waiter says they have none. Waiter asked why I did not eat my meal, I again tell him that I can not have red meat. He snickers and walks away, and as he leaves drops the bill on the table with my son. No Manager available. The Bill was $250.00 w/ mandatory 20% gratuity of $50.00. Next day, I spoke with Manager who agree's to remove the cost of my meal and the gratuity, says he will pull the ticket and call me back.....still waiting, no one has called back. Who is the Owner of this establishment, I would like to contact the owner. I believe my Order should have been remade instead of being messed w/behind closed doors then tried to pass of the steak as chicken. I wonder who actually messed with the plate of food, so very disappointed. Just ruined our evening dining! We have dined at the Winston-Salem location on Stratford Rd. for about 40+ yrs., or so, hard to believe this location in Clemmons is so awful. Folks, please don't dine here, a proper restaurant would remake the order and I believe there is a Health Law Violation in returning a meal to the kitchen once presented to a customer, then to be altered. Stopped by about 9 pm on a Friday night. The service was pleasant, and the decor is nice. Their salsa is nice...spicy and oniony. Unlike some other Mexican restaurants in town, they just give you complimentary refills if chips and salsa rather than charging you for it. The food was also great. We had the beef nachos and the chori pollo with salsa picante (rojo). Couldn't have asked for a better late-night meal except the prices are a little high for the area. This is my first time back in about 3-4 years. It has been updated since. The food was amazing. Hot and the ingredients were fresh. The staff were great. My wife had a few questions about the menu and the waiter explained everything perfect. I had the chimichangas the meat, onions and tomatoes were fresh and everything was well seasoned. We don't eat out much, so when we do we hope to have an enjoyable meal. This is NOT where you will find authentic Mexican food. There was NO seasoning at all on the steak fajitas. Never in my life have I EVER had to put ANY salt on Mexican restaurant food. I had to LOAD this meal with salt. The meat was so bland. The black beans, same thing, like they heated up a can of black beans no salt, seasoning, nothing. The rice? Tasteless and texture was a joke. The meal says it comes with sour cream and guac. There was AT MOST a teaspoon of each slopped on top of the lettuce which was near impossible to separate from the greens. They had the nerve to try and charge me for the sour cream and guac I asked for that should have been on the plate in the first place. It is very sad that Mi Pueblo doesn't make any effort to serve better tasting food. Mexican food is one of my favorites. read more

We used to go here at least once a month. But we moved out of the area. We stopped there 2/9/2022 to get dinner or lunch if you call it that. My wife and I were disappointed that the food tasted a lot different. Maybe the cooks, but we got the usual stuff we used to eat. I got the chimichanga with chicken. My wife got ACP. It just wasn't the same. We brought half of it home and added some other ingredients to make up for the loss of taste. Maybe our taste buds were on vacation. This is our close to home Mexican. The salsa has got a good kick to it. Guacamole regional is really good. Service is always great and severs are friendly. Food comes out fast. For dinner ordered a new guaca chicken ACP. Bed of rice, chicken that's moist, guacamole, with cheese on top. Will continue to go back. read more
