    What I ordered :)

I've been here on a few occasions last year, but figured I'd go again for something new "to go". The decor is very nice and festive. The person at the counter was pleasant. I showed her the exact pic of what I wanted, chicken soft tacos, which looked delicious! I was so excited to try. Unfortunately, the food was bland. The chicken wasn't flavorful at all. There was too much sour cream & too little guac. I peeked into kitchen & based on the way the cook put the PRE-COOKED chicken on the grill, she was having one of those days and the flavors revealed it. I begrudgingly picked through 2, but sadly tossed the 3rd. Three stars is generous, but it considers former experiences.

Such a quaint and stylish little restaurant with amazing staff and incredible food. This isn't your typical Mexican restaurant as their flavors and menu are truly authentic. Hands down the best tacos I've had in quite a while and my boyfriend's Burrito California was spot on!! Definitely a great place to go and we will definitely be back soon!

I have been wanting to ck this place out for awhile. We stopped in for lunch, small inside but bar stools along the windows add to seating. It's fresh & clean - you order at the counter & they bring to your table. we ordered the street tacos & the Birria bowl. We couldn't decide what we liked better: the tacos can be served on corn or flour tortilla, they were plentiful & delicious! The Birria bowl was filled with rice meat, onions, guac & what I really liked was the pinto beans rather than traditional refried beans. Reasonable prices, quick friendly service - this will certainly be one of our local favorites!

Fantastic place! Authentic options and wonderful ingredients and specials. The folks who run this place stated the Cilantro and Taco food truck that used to sit on Peter's Creek--we love supporting local! Check out their sweet space with full wall of greenery! (We also enjoyed the little wooden games at each table:) The mango aqua fresca is not too sweet and perfectly refreshing, and the folks behind the counter were helpful and kind in explaining (in English or español) menu options! A favorite.

Burritos - Carne Asada with an extra rojas sauce

I have been a consistent supporter of this business when it was a food truck. I was excited when they opened up their store front. The first few visits were great and consistent with the quality of the truck. The carne asada was ribeye meat that was tender and juicy. Since then my last few visits have been disappointing with the quality. The meat is not tough and tiny bite size pieces instead of the ribeye. The food is also salty often and the rojas sauce that comes with the meal and now bland and not spicy. This is so disappointing as this was one of my favorite places and very convenient to the house My last burrito was not as good and the sides have also been reduced. I see this often with so many businesses having a hard time with quality control. I guess I will have to switch to the shrimp or ground beef.

We were trying to decide where to eat on a Saturday afternoon after errands at Costco. We did some quick searches on Yelp and my wife remembered this "hot and new" restaurant. Cilantro and Tacos is located at the end of a small strip mall just over a mile off Peters Creek Parkway with a Dollar General in the middle and a Marco's Pizza on the other end. There is ample parking. They have a small outdoor area which has several tables and chairs with red umbrellas that will be great when the weather is warmer. There weren't other customers inside when we entered and we were able to ask some questions at the counter from the young lady. We asked her what some of her favorite items are and found out they operated a food truck for about five years before opening their brick and mortar location approximately three months ago. Cilantro and Tacos is what we would describe as fast casual, you place your order at the counter and take a seat. It is not very large inside, the dining room consists of about 8 to 10 tables, some stand alone and some booth style with counter seating along the windows. The menu board is behind the counter. We each decided to order the Birria, my wife chose the birria bowl with no sour cream and I chose the birria quesadilla with double rice, no beans. We had a seat and waited for our order to be called. Although it was empty when we arrived, we had no idea how popular this place was. There was a steady stream of customers coming inside to pick up orders and when we left there must have been another eight customers inside either ordering or picking up. They also appear to do a good amount of orders through both Grub Hub and Uber Eats. Our food arrived in a timely fashion and looked delicious. We both really enjoyed our meals and they were very filling. Great experience, we will be back!

They have made the move from the food truck to a nice brick and mortar restaurant in a great location. The place is decorated nicely and everything was clean. We were finally able to stop by and enjoy a sit down meal. My wife had the steak quesadilla meal and I had the Birria Taco platter. Four of the best birria tacos that I've had here in Winston! Mondays feature free chips and salsa so we added a side of guacamole. It was small but good. Quick service at the counter and from the kitchen. Check them out if you're in that part of town.

RUN FOR THE BIRRIA TACOS! I love them so much, but often don't order them because they aren't what I want-but theirs are perfect. So flavorful and I could drink the consume. It's a small space but parking is easy. They were sending out a ton of take out orders in there. Sides were 7.99 each. So yeah, a reduced price with meal or comp chips would be great-but it is what it is. I'll be back for the birria!

The owners, Jesus and Norma Santiago, began with a food truck in 2021, and moved into this brick and mortar location in mid-October. Like most foodies I go to a new (at least to me) spot, with the hope that this would be a great find! Unfortunately, that was not my experience here! The place is small, seating perhaps 30, with some additional outside seating on the patio. The inside is bright and clean, nicely decorated. There is no table service shop head to the register. The menu is rather small - offering Birria Tacos, Bowls, Quesadillas, Burrito,as well as several other bowls and tacos, burritos and a few side dishes. This not an inexpensive place - 4 Birria Tacos will run $14.99. In fact, most of the major items are in the $12 to $15 range. And there are no comp chips and salsa - but you can PURCHASE them for $5.99!!!!! So, when I get free chips and salsa at Los Junes, El Camino Real, and MOST other Mexican restaurants, that is a $6 gift! Now as to the tacos, they were just average - the meat was rather dry and lacked any depth of flavor, as did the consommé. The tortillas lacked freshness, and also fell apart. I would not consider a return visit due to quality and lack of value. Note that they have a 3% surcharge for CC use! Ambiance - 2.5 Food - 3 Service - 3 Value - 2

Ordered the torta, burrito, and tacos. Overall, I wasn't impressed. The torta especially missed the mark.. the bread was way too soggy and just felt too oily. The other items were okay, but nothing memorable. Also, I didn't feel great after the meal, which definitely took away from the experience. Not sure I'd go back. But the restaurant tables look clean and nicely decorated.

This place was known for their amazing Food truck at first until they upgraded into a store front. The tacos that I loveeeeeee the most are Birria Tacos! They had a meal that came in 4 complimented with the consomé dip. The tacos were amazing. I loveeeeeee the Queso. It came out very Hot and Fresh. The service was quick and friendly. I loveeeeeee how well decorated the restaurant was. The decor was very fun and colorful! The perfect place for a nice quick lunch date.

I was excited to give Cilantro and Tacos a try because I needed a break from Thanksgiving food. The location is easy to find and not far from Peters Creek. My son and I ate there for lunch. He had the kid's tacos with rice and beans. The kid's meal is generous and he loved his meal. The steak was flavorful and tender. The rice and beans were tasty as well. I had the lengua tacos. They were delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful. I also had a side of chips and the mandarine agua fresca. The chips were fresh and the aqua fresca was refreshing. It was a little on the pricey side, but it was well worth it. We plan to come back and try more on the menu.

She was impressed with their posts and they made it easy to navigate their weekly schedule. We arrived shortly after 4pm on a Saturday afternoon at 801 Silas Creek Parkway in Winston. There were several cars there but no line. We approached the food truck and started looking over the menu. Everything they do features birria style meat. Neither of us have much experience ordering birria style dishes but the young man at the window was helpful in his recommendations on what to order for now and what dishes would save best for leftovers. We went with his recommendation to share the quesadilla now and order the tacos for later. The prices range from $12-15 per item but they also have a birria pizza for $35 which looks large enough to feed several people. We paid with a credit card and we're provided a small device that alerts customers when their orders are ready. This was the first time we have ever received something like this and though it was brilliant because so many times you order at a food truck you are stuck standing close by so you can hear your name when the order is ready. Our food was prepared in a timely manner and we decided to drive up the road before eating. When we opened up our containers everything looked incredible. We immediately dug in and the quesadilla was full of delicious ingredients and flavor. I took a few pictures of my tacos but saved them for later. I'm happy to report that they were delicious heated up. We will absolutely be back soon to try even more!
