Beef shawarma. My buddy said the coleslaw sweetness was a nice combo with the beef
Mac B.

They had real pepper sauce that I haven't had in years, was nostalgic. Saw this on my way into Walmart and thought "I haven't had a GOOD meal today"; they did not disappoint. Touched a part of my childhood and reminded me of my parents cooking. Me and my buddy were just talking about our satisfaction the entire meal. PLEASE BE MORE GENEROUS WITH THE NAPKINS. I was going in on the SPICY NOODLES and my face is tingling from the pepper sauce.

Chicken and fries

My seven year old *loved* the chicken and fries. He talked about the chicken for the rest of the day. We're definitely going back when the timing works out.

Too Good!

El Sabor Tabasqueno - Some amazing chicken tacos

El Sabor Tabasqueno

I have eaten here twice now and it always lives up to the hype and baby they give you enough food for three meals and in this economy that matters and the fact it's delicious. Service depends on how busy they are. They make everything fresh as soon as you order so the least amount of time you will wait is 10 mins but trust just practice a new TikTok dance in the parking lot and before you know it your food is ready!

She was impressed with their posts and they made it easy to navigate their weekly schedule. We arrived shortly after 4pm on a Saturday afternoon at 801 Silas Creek Parkway in Winston. There were several cars there but no line. We approached the food truck and started looking over the menu. Everything they do features birria style meat. Neither of us have much experience ordering birria style dishes but the young man at the window was helpful in his recommendations on what to order for now and what dishes would save best for leftovers. We went with his recommendation to share the quesadilla now and order the tacos for later. The prices range from $12-15 per item but they also have a birria pizza for $35 which looks large enough to feed several people. We paid with a credit card and we're provided a small device that alerts customers when their orders are ready. This was the first time we have ever received something like this and though it was brilliant because so many times you order at a food truck you are stuck standing close by so you can hear your name when the order is ready. Our food was prepared in a timely manner and we decided to drive up the road before eating. When we opened up our containers everything looked incredible. We immediately dug in and the quesadilla was full of delicious ingredients and flavor. I took a few pictures of my tacos but saved them for later. I'm happy to report that they were delicious heated up. We will absolutely be back soon to try even more!

Food Truck on the corner of Waughtown and Vargrave. This relatively new taco trailer has been in…read morethe same spot for many months. It's bright red, has good signage, a 99 on their health inspection, and a nice owner. He has worked for Cin Cin Burger Bar and 4th Street Filling Station, and is now giving it a go with his own food truck called La Oaxaqueña. The pronunciation is Lah Wa-hah-ken-yah... as I'm sure many will butcher their name if they chose something other than Spanish for their language class in high school. Now the food: these are some heavy tacos!!! They do not skimp on the meat. In fact they might be the heaviest in town. The chorizo is usually my favorite, but not tonight... and not because the chorizo wasn't good, it was, but the other meats stole the show. They do have birria, which was heavy, but not served with the consume since I only had one. The two favorites were the cabeza, which is beef head, and is sooooo tender, juicy and rich as there is a greasiness to cabeza tacos everywhere. This taco felt like it weighed 1/3 pound and was the only one served with two tortillas, and these are the thick, handmade tortillas at that. The surprise delight was the buche. It's not on too many menus locally so I had to get one. Buche is pork stomach... but it's not like tripas or menudo in any way. This is meaty, has some great crispy parts and sometimes chewy parts. But no matter the texture, these had so much flavor. The tacos are served with a grilled jalapeño, red and green salsas, and plenty of sautéed onions. These are some of the best in town. So the next time you're headed to El Rancho for your taco fix, just around the corner is this awesome truck that is serving up some great food. They also offer tlayudas, tostadas, gorditas, tortas, nachos, burritos and more. They are cash only, but also can use the Cash App. Be brave, try the buche or cabeza!

Bao Yeah offers not only bao but bowls and fried chicken as well. Their ordering (via tablet) is convenient, and they turn around orders quickly. I went with a three-piece bao, which allowed me to sample the two fried chicken varieties (K*Bomb with gochujang and Garlic Gang with soy black garlic) as well as the bulgogi. All of the bao were amply stuffed with meat and pickled vegetables and slathered with tasty sauce. The thick buns held everything in place, so eating was not too sloppy an endeavor. Everything delivered the expected flavors - sweet heat from the K*Bomb, a tangier note from the bulgogi - and the fried chicken boasted a thick, crunchy batter. It was quite tasty though the chicken was definitely a bit dry. At least the bulgogi was nice and tender. All told, Bao Yeah is a promising newish addition to the Triad food truck scene. It may not be the best Korean street food you've ever had, but you're in for a flavorful meal without a long wait.

My go-to order is the Halal chicken over rice and a side of falafel. The chicken over rice comes with perfectly seasoned chicken, bell peppers, and onions, served on a bed of basmati rice with a salad mix, two pieces of pita bread, and both red and white sauce. The portions are generous, and the price is very reasonable. As for the falafel, it's some of the best I've had in Winston-Salem. It's light, flavorful, and not greasy just the perfect balance. You can order from the truck directly, call ahead, or even use Uber Eats. Personally, I like calling ahead, and the owner is always super friendly! I'll definitely be returning again and again.
