I ordered Arroz con Pollo Texans with beef, chicken and shrimp.

Nice place - the service was good, food was okay, people were very pleasant. I was hoping for more delicious food, but it was a pleasant evening. They have a little robot server, and it's cute but it's odd: its only purpose is to keep the servers from carrying multiple meals at once.

Got the pitcher of margarita which was pretty good! Their table side guacamole was worth it! I love how we can customize it too while he makes it Our server was great, always on standby and great service.

I got Don Juan's vegetarian Mexican pizza, which from the pictures on Google it seemed like heaven on a plate! I was sorely mistaken. The sauce was bland and the beans were also bland! Their Mexican pizza was two uncooked tortillas, with a slab of beans in-between them and bland sauce poured on top with a garnish of cheese. I had really high hopes.

Once again, great dinner this place has quickly become our go to for Mexican food. Wife had burrito Mexicano and throughly enjoyed it. I had the Enchiladas de Lujo, excellent, I had ground beef. Large portions, good take home Chips and salsa were good as well. The atmosphere is 100% Mexican, not use to the robot server, but it did play music which was hilarious. I prefer human servers, but OK. Reasonable prices and large portions of good food you can't go wrong.

Went to Don Juan's for a group gathering and the food and service was very good. A friend had a yummy margarita and the Mexican pizza was very good!

I had wanted Chalupas off the ala carte menu but they no longer have them. She said they are crunchy like a tostada, not the standard puffy, soft, crisp shell like Taco Bell. The Chimi was still good but my disappointment cost them a star. Our waitress was fabulous!

First time visiting Don Juan's. When I arrived around 6pm to meet up with some friends, the parking lot was full, and there was a waiting list. That's generally a pretty good sign. Very popular. I waited about 15 minutes for a table, which was fine because a couple of the guys were a few minutes late. The hostess station was well staffed with three people and I got a buzzer. As far as the inside, everything was clean. I don't know how old this place it, but they keep it nice and shiny, including the restrooms. I also notice that it's more modern and less traditional painted murals. There were plenty of servers around and even a robot carrying stacks of food trays to tables. Probably a good idea for larger orders and smaller servers. For the food, there were table chips and salsa, the standard fare. I ordered a bowl of queso fundido to go with and that was super tasty. Big tex-mex (Americanized) menu with what looked to be a lot of enjoyable food, but I ordered the tacos al pastor on maize tortillas, it came with three of them. It's usually a solid go-to when I'm not sure what to order. It had pineapple chunks in it along with cilantro and onion. I didn't care for the pineapple and the meat was meh. Frankly, I've had better most places. They were overly filled, and the single tortilla had a hard time holding the insides without breaking. Should have double-bagged. I ended up eating the last two with a fork. I didn't taste anything else, but I asked and the general consensus at the table was about like mine, average. Our server was nice but busy and he missed a few things or had to be asked twice. Overall, I'd come back, but wouldn't expect to be blown away.

I've eaten here a few times over time when meeting someone in Kernersville for a meal, and each time it has been reliably pretty good. You can expect a pretty standard Tex-Mex menu here, with a few house specialties. Chips and salsa standard with every meal (though one of the things I'd love to see improved is the salsa, which sticks out as bland to me each time). It's a big place on the inside even if it doesn't necessarily look it from outside, so if the parking lot is full, you don't have to worry, you'll get in fast. Service here is pretty attentive, but I have found that can vary greatly based on where they seat you, as there are a lot of nooks and crannies in the place where it isn't too hard to feel forgotten about. My most recent meal was a standard plate of texas style fajitas, sizzlin' on a skillet. The portion was pretty good, as was the doneness of the meats, though I usually will get more and better at my typical stop for Mexican food (La Hacienda in Greensboro). That said, it didn't let me down at all, fully satisfied when I left, and the price is comparable to most everywhere as well. In short, a fine option to satisfy your Mexican food desires in the Kernersville area!

We had dinner at Don Juan's last night. We didn't get there until 7:00 so I expected to wait for a table. We walked right in and was seated. We were waiting for two more people. When the waitress came over, we ordered our drinks and looked at menu to decide what we wanted to eat. I really liked the deep-fried jalapenos. I also had guacamole and cheese dip along with chips. The salsa was a little bland. Everyone enjoyed their food. Waitress was very good even though the restaurant was crowded. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Affordable and reliable tasty Mexican food. I've been happy with my food and the speed of service every time I've been here. The table-side guacamole is much tastier than the regular guacamole option (which tastes like it is mostly a mix). They have plenty of margarita options. On Cinco de Mayo, they were selling margaritas in the parking lot. I was really impressed with how they handled the crowd and made waiting for our table fun. I think their margaritas could have been a little stronger, but I liked them nonetheless. They got us seated within the hour (in spite of the large crowd) and gave us speedy service with a fun atmosphere. I usually get a vegetarian combo and like the enchiladas in particular. There's always a enough food to take some home.

Note the Margarita is all ice, so you aren't getting 16oz at all. The manager said that next time he can give me half a glass with the ice on the side if I want. Dropping a star. I think it really all depends on who the manager is at any given time. The one tonight: not a fan. The one who normally is here: total fan. The food is always decent. I had the carne asada tacos tonight and they were very good. I hit them traditional by adding just onion, cilantro, and special ask: habanero sauce. The California burrito is always decent. I tried to get them to do a mission style, but that was a flop. The burrito was still good. Fresh veggies: always a good option to make you feel better about yourself. Queso is great with the chips. I'd love to give this place 4 stars, but the dang margarita was just not okay. I'm not asking to have a free upgrade to Don Julio. Im just asking for my basic margarita to not be all ice and like 3oz of margarita when the menu says 16.

My son heard about their robot server so he wanted to eat here. We were in Kernersville for the afternoon so we ate at Don Juans for lunch. The restaurant was more updated than other similar Americanized Mexican restaurants. I was happy that you could get the lunch menu on Saturdays. We had the cheese dip which was tasty. The chips were warm and the salsa tasted pretty good. I wish it had more cilantro in it. The lunch fajitas I ordered were good. They did not come in the sizzling plate so it was not as fun. The shrimp and chicken were delicious. The steak was a bit dry but the toppings made it taste yummy. The rice and beans were fine. Overall a solid place for lunch or dinner.

Was killing some time before my daughters game and stopped here since it's Taco Tuesday! Environment was bright and very clean upon entry. I was seated immediately and my waiter took my drink order Top Shelf Margarita of course. Drink was not very impressive for $9.99, but who's wasting alcohol lol. I asked the waiter about the fish on the menu and went with his suggestion the fried cod with rice and guacamole salad. OMG, it was very good, fish was fried perfectly, guacamole salad was good and rice was also good. I would definitely go back and try other menu items and hopefully my margarita will be a little more impressive.

We were part of a larger party of couples, approximately 12-14 people in total. Space was reserved in advance on the covered patio which was ready early for the party and the staff was happy to seat us and get drinks started. Overall the restaurant was very clean as well as the restrooms. The reason for 3-stars is I rate Mexican restaurants on three main dishes which should always be outstanding; Al Pastor, Carnitas, and sizzling Fajitas. If there is a failure with any ONE of these menu items the highest rating I can give is 3-stars! For starters the salsa was bland no taste, no hint of cilantro or spice. Some previous reviews mentioned the chips were thin, I didn't find that to be the case during my visit. They were fresh and warm. The fajitas were great, probably some of the best we've had in years. They were well seasoned and the steak & chicken was very tender. The veggies still had some crunch and weren't overcooked. However, there was no guacamole and a small squirt of sour cream. The rice didn't have any flavor on it, no salt..nothing!, But the beans were nicely seasoned and we were glad the beans didn't have cheese on them. However, we had to request the flour tortillas several times. The Carnitas were tender but had absolutely no flavor or seasoning whatsoever. They were just chunks of fried pork tips in grease, probably fried in vegetable oil not the traditional lard and obviously not with sour orange and seasonings. There wasn't a grilled jalapeño or even any pico de gallo on the side, they were very disappointing. We couldn't find Al Pastor anywhere on the menu. And speaking of the menu it was very large with way too many items. You can't possibly do all of these items justice. I recommend they scale the menu down and do a superb job on the customer "favorites" while offering seasonal items for a limited time.

The tacos, 2 Chorizo & 2 Campechano (4 for $8.99)were more than a little disappointing - both meats were over cooked and dry; the Campechano was a strange mixture and lacked the traditional Chicharrones and the beef, whatever cut it was, was anything but tender and flavorful.
