The signage is small so keep an eye out. The owner, Jeff, is a riot! We did a tasting that was curated by him and our love for libations. He makes all of his spirits himself. His distillery started with gin which is why I'd never been because I don't like gin for any reason. I would love to say that I remember the different cocktails that he whipped up for us but we drank a lot and that was months ago. LOL. I can say everything was outstanding! My favourite was this fluffy daiquiri ice (Baskin Robbin's ice cream I love) flavoured cocktail that was indescribable but so stinking delicious. When our tasting was done we all lined up to purchase bottles. I bought a bottle of rum which was my favourite libation of the evening. I've been told the maple syrup and the pancake mix he sells is a must to buy so definitely go check it out. Looking forward to our next tasting, Jeff!

I assumed that their focus was on whisky, and certainly not on food. But then, one day, I passed by in the evening, when Drift was actually open. I saw a lot of people inside, so I thought I would check it out. The moment I walked inside and smelled that wonderful smoky flavor, I had a feeling my assumption was very wrong. I checked out the menu, which had me at brisket, and I committed to eating there as soon as possible. As soon as possible was the next day. I tried the brisket, which was fantastic! It was moist and tender without being fatty. And, it had a great smoky flavor. I went back to Drift four times that week, including twice in one day. Everything I have tried has been great - the pulled pork, beef rib (absolutely amazing) and turkey. I haven't tried the chicken or pork ribs yet, but I plan to very soon. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that the bbq baked beans are among, if not the best, I have ever eaten. Service at Drift has always been really friendly. The environment is casual and fun (at times a little too noisy for me, but I'm pretty old and have a little trouble hearing conversation in noisy environments). I'm so glad I looked past my initial perception of Drift and gave it a try. It has become one of my favorite restaurants in San Clemente.

We walked in through the back door and saw just Carin, who was at the counter and happened to be there filling in because the rest of the staff was at a wedding together. As a longtime patron, she did a great job sharing about her love of the winery, how it's the first woman-owned winery in San Diego County, and why she can be found there often, including free pizza Wednesdays (with bottle purchase) and the fun wine club parties. The wines are very reasonably priced, and we enjoyed tasting a few each. Another couple of women came in later and sat at the bar, too, and we heard Carin do an equally friendly job of introducing the place to them. By the end of our visit, we had tried several wines each, decided to buy some bottles, and joined the club, with a lot of the credit going to Carin for making us feel so welcome. Fast forward to August, and the pickup party was equally fun with the chance to meet Jennifer, the owner, more staff, and even share in someone's un-birthday cake (Carin was there and had brought a big enough cake to share with everyone in attendance). The band was fun, and there was plenty of seating. My husband and I are enjoying the visits so much that the 45 minute drive doesn't feel long/far anymore. We look forward to supporting Jennifer and bringing more friends with us to enjoy their parties.

It's a tasting room only, the winery itself is 3 or 4 miles away. First, the winery itself. I tried the Sparkling, the Sangiovese, and the Syrah. All were great, but the Syrah was by far my favorite. Service here is awesome. Very friendly atmosphere. They don't have their own food, but you can order from several nearby places and it will be delivered to you here. Patios in the front and back. If you love wine and are in Ramona, you must visit this place.
