    Takes these home to enjoy!

Went to visit for our first time so my husband and I could try a local spot. We arrived and Mike was so welcoming and so informative about all of his products. He let us try his award winning moonshine the flavors we tried were so smooth. We took home a bottle of whisky and rum. Can't wait to bring others to enjoy as well. Thank you Mike!!

We enjoyed all the gin drinks! Intimate lounge with a couple of tables, bar seating, & a couple of barrel tops. Cool sailor theme. Do be aware, the entrance is in the homeless population & there was a man posted on the door. Thankfully, the worker was able to get us through.

Commodores club is a must for any cocktail lover…read more Probably the truest speakeasy feel of any bar I've been to. That is partly due to the unexpected location. It is deep in East village and there are quite a few people experiencing homelessness on the streets outside. You will get a text stating that parking can be tough and they recommend getting a Uber/Lyft to drop you off right at the door. We had dinner nearby so we opted to drive and park. We were about a block away and it wasn't the best walk but no one bothered us and the doorman got us in right away and then checked our reservation. Look for the big red metal door! Once you're inside you are truly transported to a nautical themed speakeasy which is serving their own gins, rums, and vodkas. It was incredible! My friend got the gin flight which isn't on the menu and it was great to experience the different botanicals and then try them in cocktails. Loved the experience!

First time to Liberty Call Distilling (LCD), and the sad part is we've patronized Maggie's next…read moredoor for years never once thinking to come here. Our loss, as LCD is great! They were busy during a lunch on Friday especially their outdoor patio. Vibe is great here, staff while a little short staffed were amazing, and their food & drinks were outstanding! We shared their chicken wings and burger (added a fried egg to the burger) and chose regular fries from their side options. We both tried their whisky flight, and they were able to apply the $8 lunch entree price for any of their signature drinks towards one of our whisky flights. We spoke to Bill, one of the owners and he said their top two menu items are their burger, followed by their steak sandwich. I guess we'll have to try the steak sandwich at our next visit. I want to give special kudos to Bill and LCD. Not only are all their drinks, food, and service worth praising, LCD is very supportive and a huge fan of our first responders, public safety personnel, as well our military. I personally know they've been a part of numerous fundraisers for law enforcement, and have made donations to law enforcement for fallen officers, and have collaborated often with the First Responders Whisky Society. If you're anywhere near the downtown, Barrio Logan, or Gaslamp area, do yourself a favor and give LCD a chance! You'll be very glad you did... You're welcome in advance.

It's $25 at regular price with no Old Fashioned (sad face), but holy cow was it deeeeeelicious! Get the peppercorn sauce. TRUST ME. That sauce deserves its own Instagram account. Seriously, bottle that stuff and call me--I'll buy it by the gallon. Omgeeeee yummmm. My friend's plate? Yeah... a whole different story. The birria was so dry, and no consomé on the side? Rude. Definitely wouldn't recommend or order it again. Also, shoutout to the lone ranger working the restaurant/bar. This guy was taking orders, mixing drinks. When he forgot our drink refills, I was like, "Dude, you've got enough on your plate." Poor guy was straight-up doing the most. Someone give him a raise. Parking was good for a weekday and ambiance was really chill. I'd definitely come again. Come check them out! You can thank me laters!

The signage is small so keep an eye out. The owner, Jeff, is a riot! We did a tasting that was curated by him and our love for libations. He makes all of his spirits himself. His distillery started with gin which is why I'd never been because I don't like gin for any reason. I would love to say that I remember the different cocktails that he whipped up for us but we drank a lot and that was months ago. LOL. I can say everything was outstanding! My favourite was this fluffy daiquiri ice (Baskin Robbin's ice cream I love) flavoured cocktail that was indescribable but so stinking delicious. When our tasting was done we all lined up to purchase bottles. I bought a bottle of rum which was my favourite libation of the evening. I've been told the maple syrup and the pancake mix he sells is a must to buy so definitely go check it out. Looking forward to our next tasting, Jeff!

The vodka cocktails are great! They're refreshing, well-balanced. The food is pretty good, and I appreciate that the portions are generous enough to actually leave you feeling full. Their daily $6.19 happy hour menu is great too. The atmosphere is what really sets this place apart. It has a fun indoor-outdoor layout that makes it a great spot to hang out, especially on the weekends. They also host events like comedy shows and other entertainment, which keeps things interesting and gives you another reason to come back. One feature I don't think gets enough attention is the selection of board games available for guests. It's a simple touch, but it makes the space feel more welcoming and encourages people to relax, stay awhile, and have fun with friends.

I like their back patio. It looks very cozy. The waiters were nice and attentive. I gave 4 stars but it's more like 3.5. The happy hour menu looked great to me. You can't beat $6.19 cocktails. I ordered a melon drop and it tasted ok, not much alcohol taste, kinda plain. I also ordered honey Brussel sprouts. I understand it's "honey" but the Brussel sprouts were literally soaked in honey, not just a hint of honey. I think they'll taste so much better if they use less honey and add some balsamic to balance out the sweetness or maybe add a hint of spicy to it. I also tried buffalo chicken wings. The taste wasn't that spicy or not a lot of flavor. I wish their food could be better as i really liked the ambience.
