**On Military Installation** Wide selection of wine, liquor, beer and cigars. They have other items like sodas, juices, snacks and bartending supplies. Prices are tax free so not that big of a difference from shopping off base. Staff were very friendly but only a few knew about alcohol so weren't able to provide advice. Stocker are absolve for advise while they ensure everything is well stocked. Ambiance is relax and minimal traffic so get if in a rush or just in for a quick grab. Overall; amazing establishment and highly recommend if able. read more

This is my go to for spirits and all the things for the bar! If you are able to shop here, I highly recommend you check this place out. It is always well stocked, clean, and the customer service is excellent. They also have some end caps with various sale items where you can find lots of discounted goodies! I like this package store a but more than pretty much any other I've been to, as well as more than the average liquor store. Typically the package store has quite a bit lower price-point than the average out in town liquor store, which of course works to the benefit of those shopping there. Furthermore, their selection is quite large (pretty big store), so you should be able to find pretty much anything you're looking for. Overall, I quite like this package store, and do recommend if you have access and are in the market for alcohol and other such goodies. read more

I like how the Navy promotes against drinking and enforces drinking responsibly, but yet they have an entire store of nothing, but alcohol... it's just funny. But I'm really glad they do, because it's somewhat cheaper than many liquor stores. Mainly because it's tax free. Very extensive options for all spirits! Good little cigar cage. Definitely the best place to buy Dom P and Rosé. They do have Cristal, but you know Cristal hates minorities so we don't F@cks with them. NEX should not sell that piece of crap... it is pretty good though. I'm just saying... Good wine options and even Sake. read more

If you want it, they probably got it. This is the military version of a liquor store and this particular one is top notch. It's large and clean and I have to mention the floor which is a beautiful hardwood. Because it's got such a nice large footprint, they're able to carry a wide inventory and you'll find just about every brand of spirit you know and some you don't know. Easy access in and out with lots of parking. Located way down on the side building of the main NEX shopping area and past the food court. When the Navy ships come in, somebody's gonna get their drink on. Drink responsibly. read more

One of my fav place to visit when I'm on base. best spot for the ladies to get their drinks cause its located in base, so its very safe to come here at night time. to the point where sometimes I live my car windows cracked and still feel safe. Everything is organized and very clean. I've never seen anything out of place. Price very depending on what you're getting but I can def say that this place is one of my fav shop to visit. The NEX package store used to have great deals. You didn't have to shop around as you knew that better deals weren't out there. Those days have now passed. For anyone who is a savvy shopper knows that better deals on many of their items are found out in town. I stopped buying wine at the NEX package store years ago when BEVMO came to San Diego. BEVMO has a better selection and the NEX can't compete with their prices. I have also noted that a couple of beers I like are a much better deal at the local Sam's Club. Their liquor prices are somewhat OK. For your standard Whiskey's and Scotch's they have fair everyday prices but don't compete on sale prices at BEVMO etc. I usally get a few items to restock my bar from the NEX - mainly the middle of the road items are what I buy as they are a good deal. I have noted their high end items are much better deal elsewhere. For instance Crown XR at the NEX in NOV 2016 was $246 in SAM's Club $123. The store is much bigger and much nicer looking due to a recent remodel. They do have a great selection. The customer service is not bad but don't expcet any help unless you are near the registers. If you just need a quick item and rushed for time then NEX package store is the way to go. read more

WOW! Disclaimer that I really don't drink but one or two times a year. I mainly came here out of curiosity while I was staying in the Navy Lodge next door. This place is huge and immaculately organized. I couldn't find a thing out of place or dirty, it was really impressive. The selection was really nice and the prices are pretty darn good. I use vodka in homemade cleaning spray (yeah seriously) so I was able to get a big bottle of the cheap stuff for $9.99 They also had our wedding wine in stock (VERY hard to find) so that made me smile and they also had my favorite red in large and small sizes . Like I said I don't really drink so I got a tiny bottle for $3.49. The checkout was fast considering how many people I had in front of me, but it still didn't take long. If you are interested in craft beer, harder to find wines, or various higher end liquors this is your place. Oh and obviously you need military ID to get into the gated area, so don't forget it! read more

The Package Store's main strength is having everything at a good deal, tax free, and all in one place. Can you get better deals out in town? Yes, particularly if there is a sale. Are there places that have better selection? Of course. But if you are rounding out your bar, getting ready for a byob party, or just visiting, the standard prices at the NEX and their selection will be your standard and save you time (which is money). This store is clean, easy-in/easy-out, friendly staff, and has a giant walk-in fridge for cold beer options. If this place doesn't satisfy you, you are a snob. read more

I really like their selection of alcohol. Their prices are generally pretty reasonable and when they have sales, their prices are even better! I really enjoy shopping here and would highly recommend it to other military looking for reasonably priced spirits. read more

Its basically a BevMo, but...better! They have ice cold brews and micro brews in the back section, and it isnt busy in there!!
