My first time in Julian and my first time having fresh, hard cider! This place is a bit further down away from the touristy area of Julian, but it was part of our drive home. We entered through the barn area, where their had real hides for sale and another cute clothing shop. We walked towards the restroom signs, then entered on the right side. Inside the Julian Hard Cider building was a bar area and cute tables for sitting. It was quite warm on the day we went, so we opted for outdoor seating. We had ordered at the front where these two nice ladies were pouring the cider. I had chosen their seasonal flight which included - caramel apple, a mule, passion fruit tea, watermelon, applerita, and chata. Our flight had a cute cup of pretzels as well. We sat outside enjoying our cider while listening to the cars go by. The cider was very refreshing on the warm day and we were able to enjoy each other's company. This location is very quiet and aesthetically pleasing. Definitely a must if you're visiting Julian, too!
I used to love this place. We came in here, expecting it to be as kid friendly as it used to be. IT IS NOT KID FRIENDLY AT ALL. It had a whole kid place inside and an outdooor area to hang out but you cannot hangout in those areas and have any of their cider they make, in those areas?? so what's the point????? Also she was VERRRRRY rude about it, and if she can't find the glasses right away she'll yell at you! Was excited to go here but now I'm so disappointed. They make it really hard for parents to do anything... Apparently, someone in our party took a glass with them to the bathroom and she threatened to call the police.. I've never felt more unwelcomed somewhere before.
It seemed appropriate to order local Julian Hard Cider at Heroes Wood Fired Pizza to accompany our pizza; enjoying it, I looked up where we could purchase more to take home, and realized their tasting room was just down the street! We opted for their (2) taster flights ($18/flight): Core Flight and Specialty Flight, consisting of 6 generous pours, appreciatively served with a cup of pretzels. We left with 22 oz. bottles of their Apple Pie and Harvest Apple ($8.04 each; a 10% discount is offered with a 6 pack purchase). Fun find and experience!
Yes it's cozy. Yes it has drinks for everyone. Yes it has cute indoor and outdoor seating. And yes, it's a perfect must try spot for your Julian trip! This place is so cute and so cozy for anytime of the year. The inside is beautiful! You can tell the owners and workers enjoy where they work! My bf and I stopped here on our way down from Julian town, we tried so many ciders for such a great price (around $35). These little ciders are strong beware! This is a great spot for a girls trip, Julian trip, and a date spot if you need to show someone around Julian!
We were so exhausted from walking through town. We stumbled into Julian hard cider So thirsty .. We were pleasantly surprised by the flight of insiders that came in these super fun muffin tins. The cider were delicious. They were refreshing. They were flavorful. We almost went back for seconds, but then we realized we needed to get on the road. They were so fun. They have a gorgeous indoor area as well as a patio with huge trees. In the back of this cider shop, our other shops and a play area for kids or just hanging out. It was really quite something , our guess is that the locals absolutely love it You can either hit this place on your way in to Julien or you can catch it on the way out like we did . Either way you're gonna be so happy you did.
Great place! I got the cider flight which was $18 and had 6 different small cups to try. I like all of them! They also have a pizza stand outside to purchase food. I enjoyed the live music and the vibes!
We went camping one weekend in Julian and wanted to explore the town. Drove by and came across this place and decided to stop in for a tasting. The restaurant had split seating -small dining area in the front of the restaurant and another seating area in the back. Rustic interior and decor, which represents Julian. Ordered a couple of cider tastings. I liked all of the different selections that were on the menu. There were more than some of the other cideries o have been to. Presentation of the tasing was cute - they were delivered in muffin tins which I thought was creative. I did not like the fast that the drinks were served in cheap plastic cups. Something about drinking from a glass just makes things taste better. That would not stop me from returning though.
Everything here was so on point! The cider is delicious, nice and strong for what it is, and a great value. They have a food booth here that serves hot dogs, burgers, chicken, etc which was super convenient to have under the same roof. They offered a chocolate tasting which was so so good! Plenty of seating both inside and out, and dog friendly! Only one bathroom but better than nothing. Came during March and there was no lines or wait for anything. The vibes inside are so cute and the people working are very friendly. A perfect day!
We stopped by Julian Hard Cider after an afternoon in town grabbing pie. It was nice to get out of the chaos that is downtown on a weekend. This cider co is in a building with a few different vendors - there's some antique shops, boutiques, and an old timey bar. It's a really cool spot to walk around in. We got the cider flight to try a bunch which was definitely the call, and more than enough for the two of us (beware elevation effects). They even gave us some pretzels on the side. Would definitely recommend!

When we got here we were greeted and took a look at the menu. We decided to get a flight of ciders to try and got my nephew a hot apple cider. They have so many kinds to try. They have some classic ciders but also some very original ciders. We had a fun time trying the flight of six but also wanted to try a couple more so I went back and purchased a couple more cups of individual ones. We each walked out with a pint to take home and grabbed a few apple ciders for a morning treat. A very cool space to spend some time. I would absolutely recommend a stop in!
Jillian Hard Cider is such a hidden gem in Julian! I instantly loved how open and spacious it felt--like a mix between a western town throwback and a super cute public market. The little boutiques and shops inside are adorable, and the whole place has this old-timey ambience that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time (in the best way). My favorite part? The arcade section with the pool table! It's such a fun touch and makes it more than just a cider spot. They even have a food section with smash burgers, seriously sooo good. And of course, the cider tasting room itself is amazing, with tons of flavor options to try. But the real showstopper is the patio deck. The view is absolutely stunning....I'm talking "you could host a wedding here" level gorgeous. Perfect for hanging out, sipping cider, and soaking in Julian's charm. Only tiny downside: no AC, so it can get a bit warm in summer. But honestly, it just makes me want to come back in the winter to enjoy the cozy vibes even more. All in all, it's such a fun, unique spot. Amazing cider, great food, western charm, and one of the best patios ever. I'll definitely be back!

My hubs and I really enjoyed stopping in on a Monday to sample some hard ciders here! When we entered, we were the only folks, so we had a great time chatting with the server here. She went over all the ciders with us, answering any questions we had. She was very knowledgeable and really, I think we enjoyed the tasting all the more for her insight and great conversation. Folks continued to stop in. We could tell that on the weekend, this place would certainly fill up! And...why decide between two sample flights when we can share both?! Each cider was truly different from one another, so the tastings were quite the palate journey. Of course we had our favorites, but really, all were tasty and went down easily. In addition to bar seating, there are booths inside and lovely outdoor seating. There is definitely a show of pride and gratitude for the fire and police departments here, particularly fire, given their profound and tragic history with wildfires. Homage is given through pictures, patches, and memorabilia. Merch is for sale here, as well as cold bottled ciders to go. A really enjoyable way to spend some time before proceeding into town! read more
When visiting Julian trying their hard cider is a must! Julian Hard Cider was highly recommended to us for sampling cider and we decided to come here as our first stop. We got their core flight and it came with pretzels for palette cleansing! My favorite was the pearanormal and my boyfriend's was the apple pie. Between the two of us, this sampler was a good amount already, but you can always buy a pint of your favorite flavor! Service was quick and efficient and there is a lot of seating. Would stop by again next time! read more

DO NOT BRING KIDS HERE! We had the most horrible experience at Julian Hard Cider! The bar tender was so incredibly rude and obnoxious. It started out with her ripping a muffin tin out of my one year old son's hands! I was furious! We ordered 2 flights and let the kids play with the muffin tins to keep them occupied and she walked right up to my son without even acknowledging me and ripped the muffin tins that the flights came in out of his hands! He immediately began crying and she said "I think your done with that!" Then when we were packing up to leave we let the kids play in the play area and she came storming out saying "I NEED ALL MY GLASSES BACK RIGHT NOW!" We made sure she had them and then she said , " ONES MISSING!!! GIVE IT BACK NOW OR ILL CALL THE COPS BECAUSE YOUR NOW TRESPASSING!!" We told her we didn't have it, perhaps my husband who went to the bathroom took it with him" She was literally screaming at us and told us to leave! I stood by the car in the RAIN WITH MY SON, because my husband had the keys and my phone. My husband was livid! He didn't even take the glass to the restroom he left it on the bar before he went. This woman obviously has some serious issues with children and just general people skills. I'm honestly still so shocked and disturbed. read more

This is a must visit when your in the Julian area and a hard cider fan. They have all their flavors on tap in addition to seasonal ones. The seasonal one I get in the growler is the caramel apple around fall. They also have great merch too. They have seating areas inside and out and there is a large collection of military, police, fire, ems patches on the wall. I donated one years ago. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Check it out the next time your up there. read more

My husband and I love this spot the vibes are great super family or big group friendly I love that you can be indoors or outdoors and we love to do the flights the service is great too only bummer is the hours! But all in all we will continue coming to this spot and enjoying the cider! read more

I'm not a very social person. I'm a little shy. Especially in an environment I'm not used to. Sam really went out of her way to make sure that I felt comfortable. No giant loud hello, no in your face questions that feels too personal. Just kindness and Grace. As a little bit of an introvert, I really appreciated her careful approach. I will be returning again during a bachelorette weekend. And Sam is definitely who we are going to be looking for. What a great cider house! Thank you for having someone for everyone! read more

Such a quaint little spot on your way in or out of Julian. Theres plenty to do in this plaza. I saw a beer tasting area, wine tastings, multiple stores, and even a kids play area. We stopped in for a hard cider tasting which just hit the spot. All the flavors offered in the $18 tasting of six different ciders were all unique but insanely flavorful. I especially loved the mint/lime and apple pie cider, so refreshing and tasty. Theres plenty of parking and seating spread out all over. You can chill out on couches and watch your kids play or even sit by the fire outside under lights. read more

Had such a fun time doing the flights of hard apple cider. We did the original and specialty flights that come with 6 flavors and then some pretzels. We sat outside on the patio at some tables which was nice. The hard cider was fun although I think I like classic flavors more personally. read more

This was a great experience staff was super friendly, great open seating, quick service, the cider however was okay. I tend to like angry orchard, shock top, blue moon. This tasted really bland to me I think the best one was cherry and it was just okay. I definitely recommend if you like more neutral tasting beer. I also recommend to give this place a try reallu cooo great environment. The apple cider however was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I would go back just for this. read more

Slow down and enjoy spike Apple ciders. You'll miss it if you're driving eagerly to Julian town! This place is absolutely cute for a day date to Julian and they are DELICIOUS. They offer these cute cider flights so you can taste the favorites. So much fun to visit on our day trip! The service was good. The place is not big but they offer additional seating at the back. read more

There were four of us with two dogs. We really enjoyed the outside area with the dogs. Shady with a nice breeze. Friendly people. Cider was OK. Two of us had the Core Flight and two had the Special Flight. I liked the basic apple cider the best...crisp, not too sweet. The rest of the flavors were OK but not ones I'd buy individually. Definitely a nice place to hang out with the dogs. read more

We didn't order food but their different ciders are great. We did two samplers of their ciders. I purchased some to bring home and give away. Service was great. He explained everything about the cider and made recommendations for how to drink the ones from the cans for better results. The location is great. Plenty of shops and we played pool enjoying our ciders. read more

Love coming here after walking around downtown Julian! It is about 10 minutes drive away from downtown and a must visit. I had the "core" tasting flight. It comes with 6 hard cider tastings and a cup of pretzels. My favorite was the apple pie, perfect amount of cinnamon and nutmeg flavor and not to heavy. They have a nice outdoor seating area with corn hole. There is also food and a few small shops in the same building. Right across the street is a farm that in October is a pumpkin patch with activities! Great down to earth place to stop while visiting Julian. Staff are very nice and helpful if you are unsure of what cider to get. read more

Went here for the first time and it was so fun! The menu had a nice variety of flavors: I definitely recommend the Apple Pie cider-not too sweet and rich in spices. We also tried the Black and Blue cider- drier with faint notes of berry and a rich, purple color! There were plenty of booths , which made it family (and dog) friendly! Parking was easy- a large lot off to the side. Bonus: they have easy, icebreaker games like Connect 4! Give this spot in Julian a try! read more
Great stop in Julian for some cider! I loved their large variety of ciders and interesting flavors. We tried both the core and specialty flights. I was really impressed by the flavors. They really came through strong in each cider. I really enjoyed the Apple Pie, Pearanormal, Tiki Torch, and Summer Sangria. It's also cool how it's located amongst various other businesses, so you can grab food and shop as well. There's a large seating area outside and even corn hole to play while you enjoy your cider. The service was great- fast and friendly! Would definitely come back. read more
On a hot day--and it can get REALLY hot out here--there's hardly anything nicer than sitting on their outside patio and drinking some ciders. They have at least 12 different ciders on draft and there could be more, for all I know. They offer flights of 6 ciders but you have to choose from two different set flights. So, no mixing between the two flights. I find that a little strange but perhaps they have their reasons. I don't love all of their ciders, and they tend to be on the sweeter side, but overall, they are very nice and refreshing. My personal faves are Cherry Bomb and Apple Pie but no doubt, you'll find a few you like. They also offer bottles for sale. Reliably good stuff here. read more

Delicious We went for a hike and decided to stop in to try their flights. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice and mellow. We will be back for more next time we are in the area. read more
