Showed up on trivia night. Had a great Margarita from the distillery. The bartender was great. I had the experience of watching them make a XXX. They made my margarita with Tajín and it was so delicious. I had to get a second one. Trivia was fun! We got there a bit late but we loved the categories and joined. They had the Padres game playing on the screen as well. Julian was awesome in the kitchen. It was great speaking with him! He made some tasty sandwiches. Show stopper for me were the BBQ pork sliders on a brioche bun. The drinks complement the food served here also. There is also a distillery on the other side of the bar that has the stronger spirits. Easy to find and plenty of parking. When you walk in the bar is to the right, distillery is in an enclave opposite of the bar. The big dance floor is to the left of the bar. There is a lot of real estate for big groups. Check their schedule for the dates for the open mic night and the line dancing lead by an instructor. read more

Been a minute since I'd been here and 1st time on a Saturday night....in a word, active! Apparently there was some kind of corn hole tournament combined with at least one or two birthday parties and the place was going off! Since my last visit there has been quite a bit of expansion and to my surprise the beer menu hasn't changed, if at all.....which is a good thing! I had the Revolver IPA which was as good as I remember and then ordered a chicken sandwich from the inside restaurant which was amazing, I mean really good - smoked chicken breast, moist and juicy, served on a chiabatta roll, lettuce, tomato, aioli, and bacon. Was the least expensive sandwich at $11 but I challenge the others to be as good. Once you get past the noise of a Saturday night corn hole tourney, the place is really quite nice. Been here twice for a few beers with takeout. They have a nice western style vibe and play country music. Feels like I am far away from the urban side of San Diego when in fact I only drove 15 minutes. The beers are pretty good. They also offer distilled spirits and have a special area designated for cocktails. They offer live music at certain times also and have events. There is a nice BBQ grill out front, so I imagine they offer live music up some good food from it during the certain events. Speaking of events, it is large enough to hold them either inside or out. Always love to come to line dance here. It's a nice place and good vibes. Sometimes we come and the big fan in the dance area isn't on and the bartender typically turns it on. Even after multiple people asked if she could turn it on when she has a chance. It seems to never be turned on even though she isn't busy behind the bar and is just scrolling on her computer. Probably will stop coming here and take my business elsewhere if she can't take a quick second to turn the fan on. Everyone in the dance area looks to be over heated!! read more

I will recommend them. And yes I be back. I love the fan above. The dance floor has a cow skull on it. It was crowded on a Friday night. They had Green Beer for St. Patty's day. I do not drink, so my brother inlaw and sister do . They said it was very good . It was the birthday party for one of the band members, the drummer Dean Osuna. I enjoy line dancing and the beer here, however every interaction with the staff has been negative. The bartenders and bouncers make you feel less than every time I have gone. I came in for a 21st birthday one time and they refused to serve beer to my friend when she asked for a recommendation. The bartender made a comment about how my friend wouldn't like the beer then told us to go to the mixed drinks area. When we went to the other bar area, we were mocked and made fun of and then told she was closed while the bartender sat talking to friends. Overall, the staff is not welcoming and not enjoyable, I recommend going elsewhere if you want to have a nice experience. read more

This brewery really took me out of my comfort zone. My bubble was burst(ed?). I came here for a comedy show and...that's not the reason for the above statements. This brewery has a refreshingly different clientele than most. Gone are the beirdo work-from-home millenial hipsters strung out on milkshake IPAs...in their place are working-class GenXers quaffing classic beer styles. The whole place has a much more rural/blue collar vibe than 95+% of breweries I've been to. But, they still did have multiple IPAs on tap for insufferable beer nerds like myself! All were crisp, clean, and plenty hoppy. The comedy show and setup for it were also fantastic. I would come here all the time if I lived in the area, even if I'd be a minority. read more

We came upon this hidden gem to watch Lucha Libre being held on the property. This was a delightful afternoon of entertainment, good spirits and tasty noshes. The bartenders make cocktails from scratch and are delightful using the distillery's signature spirits. They had a cigar truck and good eats in the front parking lot. The place is a GEN X haven for country music and comedy nights. The wrestling had a dynamic crowd of people that were hilarious and robust with each comments. The wresting was entertaining and dynamic. Definitely on places to frequent. read more

Their beer is amazing and I used to look forward to coming here! Unfortunately the service is currently extremely lacking. The distillery bartender was extremely rude. I believe her name was Hailey. I have always had wonderful experiences here in the past (I've been 10-15) times prior, but tonight was highly disappointing and it unfortunately was not the first time we have received poor service/been treated rudely by this same gal. Multiple other employees approached us to apologize for her behavior. I used to recommend BNS to any and everyone I knew, but I will definitely think twice before doing so moving forward. read more

Local brewery and Distillery. Country themed with free line dancing lessons on Monday Nights. Each night they have different food trucks that come for food options. The beers are amazing and they offer growlers and cans to go. My favorites are the gunfighter which is a lighter beer and they have a raspberry beer that is kind of like a sour it's not sweet at all but lots of amazing flavor. Their distillery is phenomenal. If you like old fashions this is the play for you. They spoke the drink in front of you with red cherry wok, the smell and flavors are so next level you would think you are at a Michelin Star Restaurant. Went to BNS brewery for the new version of taco Tuesday. Utter garbage, and wierd. Also, the three taco combination comes with ....three tacos. That's it. I guess artlessly combining tiny, cold, slightly stale corn tortillas with a teaspoonful of pedestrian pulled chicken, pork or "tri tip" with a smattering of onion makes it a combination?? The smoked tri-tip was just weird in the taco and the smoke was clumsy. The pork was oddly sweet and not nice. The chicken could've been packing material. This is my favorite brewery so far. The staff is very welcoming and the beer is delicious! My favorite one is the raspberry beer. Whenever a friend or family member comes to visit me I have to take them here. As a Hispanic I do feel awkward at times like everyone is starring at me, but the staff make me feel welcomed. The decorations are nice and make you feel like you are in the Wild West era. They have a lot of things planned throughout the week and I hope I can be there for an event some day! Everything is clean even the bathrooms. I like that it's a private bathroom and not stalls. There are plenty of seating but you have better luck sitting outside if you are handicap like me. This place is hoppin! Monday nights are a great night to come here and learn to line dance, or just watch all the beautiful people line dance. The crowd was mixed with young people and their parents ( I think) I know I look like someone's parent. My kid would never be seen with me here, but anyway. I had an imperial stout and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I used to be a stout/porter/dark beer girl. Ok, I was a beer babe back in the day. But nowadays, I only drink tequila or seltzers for the carb savings. On this Monday, I chose to break my new pattern and enjoy one of my old favorites. It is hard finding a brewery that serves non carbonated options, and BNS does in the distillery aka the Red Barn. The go to is the XXX Old Fashion, pretty much an old fashion but better. Occasionally they have other drinks to try, but they do have a staple menu which does include a slushie type drink, and usually three specialty shots. The beer selection looks pretty good, but we never get any because of the carbonation. Service is relatively quick even on busy nights. They have a rotating activity for most nights. Fri/Sat are usually bands, Every other ish Tuesday is comedy, they have line dancing with an instructor, weekend events include various things like fundraisers for local places including school, wrestling, dog adoption, themed nights like Thrift Store Prom, or whatever they come up with. Dogs are welcomed. Inside and outside. They don't server their own food, at least not yet. But usually have a good vendor outside. It rotates between a small handful, that are just OK. They have outside seating, inside at the bar, sofas, tall tables, short tables, benches, etc. Pool table inside, and they put on sport games on the TV. My total bill was for $41 for drinks for 2 persons and ordered several drinks. All the drinks were great, plenty of seating and the atmosphere was good. BNS had some decent beers, staff were not unfriendly but not memorable. We went on a week night and it was very quiet. The space itself is huge, so I would imagine you wouldn't have trouble getting a table even when it's busy, but it was almost completely empty which made the atmosphere a little flat. I used to go every Monday to drink their good beers named after guns. Birria tacos were delicious too. Mondays used to be good when they had a real DJ and line dance instructor. It was family friendly, and so many people enjoyed the good community. Now they have tweens running around who can't teach worth a lick. Not to mention, they are half-dressed... Go anywhere else on a Monday but this place, unless you want to be in the tik tok gallery. They lost the fun-for-all generations atmosphere, and I wouldn't recommend bringing your family here anymore. Bring back Christian or Dan. These new girls are absolutely awful - The blue haired girl is annoying and I wouldn't recommend bring your kids to see how provocative she dances. BNS Brewing & Distilling has improved 10-fold since our last visit. The peanuts are thankfully gone. No more gross peanut shells all over the floor. We met some friends on a recent Saturday night. A friend's band was playing so we decided to check it out. BNS has a spacious room for live music, private parties, etc. It is really cool. We were really impressed. The beer as usual was top notch. BNS is brewing some top-flight beers. We are not whiskey drinkers, but everyone we know who is says the BNS whiskeys and bourbons are outstanding. Old western décor throughout the brewery is cool. They also have a huge outdoor patio area with picnic tables and games. They do not have food, but very often have food trucks on site to satisfy your hunger. BNS is dog friendly and people friendly. Not many breweries in Santee, but we come here often for the Whetlands Raspberry Beer + for taco night. There were visibly less kids than pre-COVID days which was really nice. Prior to it literally was like a day care, kids seemed to always be running around/being noisy. It's much better now. Visited tacos el chuchy (their Tuesday vendor) but was disappointed to hear they got rid of all you can eat tacos. The best part of this was their side of rice/salsas/aguas frescas. They do no serve complimentary rice and beans or have any Mexican fruit drinks. Sides can be purchased but not refillable. The tacos were still very good. You just get less than for what you paid prior to COVID. read more
