I don't come here much, but they will have something that I can't resist to buy- many times cuz I've never seen it elsewhere. The beer selection here is otherworldly for the most part. You will pay handsomely, I should say. It is a liquor store that knows what to get. It has been known for many years now by hopheads and general beer loving folk. I've had several conversations with strangers that bring this place up! When you can't find it, most of the time it's here. No online menu or ways to search, just bring you butt in and see. Walk in to the beer cooler and check out the goods, and then open the wallet.. I've been coming for years, pre-Yelp and smartphones. Nothing has changed, just now even more beer to choose from! And when I can't find it anywhere, I'll at least try here. One thing that'll turn you off in addition to the higher prices is the fact that there is a 4% surcharge on card purchases. I was very impressed with the selection of beer, wine and liquors. They also have a stand out selection of bourbons and Ryes. Their prices were on par with other liquor stores near by. However after I checked out, the price didn't seem right. The receipt wasn't itemized so I asked the clerk. He told me that they added a 4% charge to all credit card purchases. read more

This place is wall to wall alcohol, beers and craft soda's. From the outside it doesn't look like much and the inside is pretty much the same. It is an alright size but because it's jammed packed it seems smaller. If you're looking to booze it up then this is a good spot to go. I originally came here because I heard they had some wild and crazy craft sodas. Sure enough they have a ton but not all of them are in the refrigerator which I thought was weird. This place used to be alright but has taken a serious turn downwards. I have expensive taste and don't mind spending $5-6 a pint on craft beer but lately Palm Springs Liquor has been really overcharging their customers! My last experience (and last time supporting this store) was when I went to go buy a beer and found out they were charging $32.00 plus tax where the actual brewery here in San Diego charges $27.00 out the door! Same case for Kings Brewing. Palm Springs Liquor charges WAY MORE than the brewery does. PS: you can order directly from both North Park Beer Co. and Kings Brewing online! I mean whatever - but the employees lied to me and told me that the beer cost the same at the brewery! Don't let this store lie and take advantage of you. Oh also, I sent Palm Springs Liquor a message on Instagram about my experience and they blocked me - so they clearly dgaf - been going there for 5+ years and have spent thousands, but no more. Good selection of beer, including craft beer as well as hard liquor. I would stay away from the glass bottle isle where they have stouts, Belgians, barley wines etc. There is a reason they have the buy 1 get 1 sign. A lot of it is super old. I bought some Belgians and when I got home to open them they were absolutely flat and no that's not the breweries fault. That shows the beer is old and has lost its carbonation. We dropping this now, sadly, after a long time. I had been going here for YEARS. I'm talking, gosh... 10+ years. This place was magic, the craft beer, the people... everything. Now, it's changed. The employees don't know anything about beer anymore. They barely know what North Park Brewing is if I ask, that shows they are way out the loop. Also, be careful as they sneak charge you 4.0% for non-cash charges and never tell you of it. I think that's robbery to be honest. Especially after I have spent thousands there in that shop. WOWZA! I could probably just leave that as my review and it would sufficiently describe this liquor store, but I'll expand on that word just a little bit. I was randomly searching through Yelp on my phone for something and this liquor store popped up. After reading some reviews I knew we had to stop by. After our customary Sunday afternoon errands, we found our way into Palm Springs Market. I can honestly say that the first five minutes I wandered around looking at all the craft beer my jaw was dropped. Literally. I looked like a creepy mouth-breather and I apologize to anyone who saw my face during that time. It was probably un-cute. Regardless, this shop has an awesome AWESOME A W E S O M E selection of craft beer. It was a bit overwhelming for our first trip, but WOWZA -- who cares?! The owner is very friendly and helped us both pick out some nice brews we hadn't heard of before. Their prices were probably slightly less than average, but their "specials" are what you should be excited about. You guys should get in here immediately and buy Victory at Sea while they are still 2 for $10. I just bought one bottle at BevMo three days ago for $8.50. They had many 2fers at Palm Springs Market and I love 2fers so that's exciting for me. My husband homebrews now so we don't buy beer nearly as much as we used to, but when we do need more craft beer we'll for sure come back here to play. read more

I loved this store for years but what happened today, NEVER EVER GO BACK!!!@ I was standing in line, didn't say anything to anyone and the grown man (WHITE MAN) in front of me keep in mind I was at least 3 feet away from him and he turned around and made me as a woman by myself very scared and screamed at me saying that I was too close to him. He obviously knew the guy who was working they had a long conversation about the owner and when it was my turn i asked the clerk what happened, if I did something wrong and then the clerk screamed at me in front of customers, children and other employees. I asked to speak to the owner, which I know (randy) known for years and the clerk continued to be EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL even after i made it clear that I was a female by myself and because he was friends with the man the clerk only screamed " some people have a bubble " and defended a grown man flipped out out of nowhere!!! Went in to see if they had any track series from Lost Abby for a gift from my Brother's birthday. I have been in a number of times so, if anyone would have one, I was betting they would. Ending up spending over $100 on some good craft beers. When we got home and started in on them, the first one was super skunky and tasted spoiled. Went on to the second one, also spoiled. These were not older beers; 3 Friends, a coconut porter and a few others; all soured. I have been brewing over 20 years, drinking just as long. I know what spoiled beer taste like. Called my brother and told him not to drink them and he already opened them and poured his Birthday gifts out. Including the Lost Abby, which was over $20! I went in to tell them and was meet with such a rude guy. It was not the owner, I have met him a few times, but I didn't know this dude and he wouldn't give me his name. He said that i was trying to pull a scam. I said "how is this a scam if I'm not asking for my money back?" He told me to get out of his store. He was very rude. I will never go there again. Rude service and 7 out of 7 crafts purchased were spoiled. Time to find another shop. read more

First time i walked in i was taken away with the ridiculous selection of craft beer availabe. best selection I've seen in SD and i am quite familiar with the other great bottle shops in san diego... these guys are top notch. Their pricing is amazing and their staff is on the same level. they are very knowledgeable and helpful. i recommend this place to anyone who loves great beer at a great price! On that note, i was planning my wedding and i inquired about getting a great selection of special beers in bulk for the reception. Daniel took care of me and all of my needs. They had the shipment ready days before the event and made it super easy to pick-up with plenty of time to get that detail taken care of and worry free. Stopped in today - wall to wall - to wall...they have everything and everyone in here from the emerging and spinning craft brew world! Brewing Cos- that I had never ever heard of, and I am talking micro micro. Asked for a relatively obscure Urthel beer: had it. I made the choice to ask for a recommendation GREAT idea [find the cool dude in the back fridge] [ prob why he's so cool]....anyway, THANK YOU!- out the door with 2 beers that are rare: " Citraholic " - mouthful of citrus/pine/hop/love.....enjoying it now. Truly, the place is loaded with all sorts of cool brews. I am not kidding when I say the selection is easily in the hundreds, peoples---if not millions. OK, definitely a hundred different beers. I remember the first time I walked in. I looked at the Wall of Beer and said, "Whoa!" A local said, "Dude, this ain't even half of it." And he was right. Around the corner are a thousand other choices. Hyperbole, my peeps. Prices are "OK" and service is A1. The only downside I can mention is the area sometimes attracts shifty types who wait outside and ask you for spare change or spare beer. No kidding. Craft Beer! Awesome place to walk into if you are a connoisseur or just love a damn good beer. Best in SD. It's worth driving across town for, and it is a regular trip I happily take every time. I took my friend in today and he was in awe like a kid in a candy store. He actually walked through some of the store recording a video of the selection. How many liquor stores have ever made you want to film it? I have been going here for a while and what I have realized is the staff is friendly and will go out of there way to provide any beer they can get their hands on. The selection speaks for itself. They easily have more a selection than bevmo, and this place gets all the rarities and limited addition beers that bevmo doesn't. I appreciate the beer selection and reasonable pricing. Wine and liquor will also be found to be the same. I'm so thankful that somewhere like this actually exists east of the 15. A few suggestions: 1. Organization-The beer seems to be placed willy nilly and the owners have a difficult time locating particular brews. 2. Check Out - The logistics are slightly irritating. Either offer shopping baskets or open another register. If you want to offer a great selection, don't make me stand there with my arms full of beer behind the 8 customers waiting to get their daily Marlboro Reds. 3. The Guy Who Gets the Pliny--Whoever the guy is who magically makes the Pliny the Elder appear should come out more often. From a completely craft brew perspective, this place has the most selection of beer I have ever been to. They have everything from 120 minute dogfish head IPA to a series of bourbon barrel aged beer. However from a management point of view it is a bit shady. I was buying lots of beer, about 100 dollars worth when the store clerk came up to me and started to bring me beers and stand around me like an annoying fly, giving me beers at a rate quicker then I could read the bottle label. Then, after being hassled for about 15 minutes, my bill came out around 120 after taxes. Did the math and my bill should have been around 95 after taxes. I believe this is because he did not give me the 2 for 10 victory at sea deal, and added an extra 10 dollars amidst my large buy. Disappointed as I feel like I had money stolen from me. If you plan on coming here, don't buy anymore than 3 or 4 bottles and know your exact pricing before going to register as they will try everything to keep your money, even if that includes not selling at their advertised price. Next time, I'd rather go to a total wine or bevmo as I know that these corporations will be able to back up their advertised prices. Any business that scams/cheats people out of money deserves a 1 star, however due to their selection of beer I will give it a 2. read more

I stopped by Palm Springs Market today after I had heard they had more than their fair share of beer. As I was told, Palm Springs Liquor is certainly a hidden gem. Neatly tucked away in the far side of La Mesa, Palm Springs has an abundant and surprisingly unique selection of bottles. Unlike most shops in San Diego, I found Palm Springs to have bottles that others just don't have. As I browsed the cooler doors, I found local favorites, Belgians, limited releases and many other great beers. Choosing just a few was difficult, but I managed by telling myself there will be a next time. If you're in East County and are looking for something specific or just want to mix it up, I would definitely recommend Palm Springs Liquor. So I too am hesitant to review this place because it's been east county's best kept beer secret for awhile now. But these guys are awesome & they deserve it. This place literally has every kind of craft beer you can think of. It has the BEST selection I've found in SD. Better than BevMo, KnB, Bine & Vine, or Bottle Craft AND their prices are waaaaaay better. Pliny for $4.99, Enjoy By for $5.99, Victory at Sea two for $10 are you kidding me???!??! I live two minutes from KnB & I drive right by those schmos to go to Palm. These guys have all my favorite local & not so local breweries including: Alpine, Mother Earth, Deschutes, Knee Deep, Port, Russian River, Ballast Point & I have yet to scratch the surface. Their prices are amazing! The staff is friendly, attentive & knowledgable. I won't shop for top shelf craft anywhere else. Oh yeah! BTW if you're into imports they've got a TON too.
