My son was craving teriyaki and we noticed Samurai Sam's next to Chipotle where we were originally headed. My son got teriyaki and there was a choice of dark or light meat. He never had a choice before, so he chose dark meat and fried rice. You could also get a veggie with it but he opted out. He also got a Fanta. I got a build your own bowl. It said that for protein the option for tofu was coming soon so I just got veggies, half yakisoba noodles and half rice (choice of brown or white) and the sesame ginger sauce. I also added some of their spice in a shaker that was some kind os sesame seed mixture. Overall we both enjoyed our meal. It was nothing amazing but it seemed semi healthy and veggies were fresh. Today I had to stop at the UPS store to do a drop off and as we were leaving we noticed a Samurai Sam's next door. We were looking to eat and decided to walk into Samurai Sam's and order takeout. It has been awhile since we had been here. I ordered the Spicy Teriyaki Chicken Yakisoba bowl. Our order was quick and since I ordered the dark chicken I decided to add chile flakes to spice it up even more. My dish was very tasty and came with broccoli, carrots, and squash. This dish made my tummy very happy today. The place is kept clean and the service is quick. Next time we are in the area we will stop by again. read more

Went to UPS store next door- masked & gloved up- a few OCD issues - & saw this place. Asked about it- they got thumbs up. It gave great impression of cleanliness was well-cleaned- spacious- all was immaculate. Requested salmon "cooked well" since I've had not so well-cooked salmon in bowls. The chef came out- masked & gloved- to make sure it was as requested- it looked & later tasted perfect! Excellent! My order Rice with the teriyaki sauce, medium bowl. Rice wasn't filled as the other locations. Maybe they are following a standard, or could be giving less portions, so they would have to not make more through the rush hour. I found a hair, so out of being courteous I called and let them know about the dried rice, and the hair. The manager wasn't available, given the situation to be handled by a shift leader. His solution was, "thank you for your concern" no acknowledgment, and a phrase showing the customer some mutual understanding that this is a common problem. Just wondering if this is what this bowl is supposed to look like. I have ordered here several times before and have NEVER received a bowl that looked picked over or appeared to be missing part of the serving. I placed this for delivery through grub hub...not sure who dropped the ball on this, but I am not happy. I was so disappointed with the new dishes. Of the three we ordered, the beef shishito pepper bowl was good. The shrimp yakisoba was not edible. It had a horrible garlic scented flavor which reminded me of cheap minced garlic in a jar. The chicken and vegetable bowl was also strangely chemical like in flavor. The carrots were hard and uncooked with a horrible taste, the broccoli was over cooked and the chicken was dry. We ended up tossing two of the dishes, it was such a disappointment. The location in North Phx used to be the best and now it has ruined all Samurai Sam's for my family and I. I remember the chicken used to be grilled and today the chicken was undercooked, cold, and disgusting (that goes for breast and dark chicken!). Some of the dark chicken was hard from it being reheated or I don't what they did? The egg rolls were cold and you couldn't even tell that they were grilled (they used to grill them before) and the fact that they were undercooked made them soggy. Never going back there again! I received a coupon through the 5 stars program that Samurai Sam's by Metro Center uses. It was a Memorial weekend deal. It stated with no fine print "Memorial day Weekend special FREE! Dark Chk Bowl". I go in and show the clerk at the cash register. She informed me that I have to spend $25.00 to receive the promo. The promo stated nothing about spending $25.00. I haven't tried there food and never will with deceptive advertising like this. I believe if management is willing to do this then the care and quality of food the employees could be putting out is suspect at best. My family has been a patron of this restaurant for at the minimum 10 years. Today to the disgusting treatment from one of your employees we will never be back. Something did not taste right about the chicken so as a courtesy my father let them know that something was off. The person at the counter when my dad was seated again in the small restaurant proceeded to loudly talk with the Cook and another coworker all about my father and how stupid he was. Is this how samurai sams trains it's employees to treat customers? It's an open air restaurant and they are talking loudly. I went to the front to ask for her name and the corporate number, because I didn't think it was appropriate or professional treatment, and she told me that she has a right to say whatever she wants to say, and that I can look up the corporate number and that she doesn't have to give me her name. This is absolutely disgusting to have a business fronted by someone who represents the company in such a rude way. This location is the one at 3039 Peoria in Arizona, and since she flat out refused to give her name I do have a picture of her so that her attempts to hide from owning up to her horrible treatment of a customer can be addressed. I will not be back, my mother and father will not be back, and anyone we used to previously recommend the restaurant to will be told to save their dollar for a place that respects their customer and doesn't tell them that they have the right to mock a paying customer as a representative of the business. Samurai Sams is a place I USED to visit three times a month for the minimum 10 years. But she can treat us how she wants I guess. When it was time to cut the chicken, the female "cook" then grabbed the trash can off the counter & proceeded to cut the chicken on the SAME counter & cutting board the TRASH CAN WAS ON, with the same gloves she touched the trash with. I brought it up to Marissa so I wouldn't get food poisoning. Asked Marissa for the owners info, coincidentally didn't have it. But Marissa called him right away. Ranj seemed just as uneducated as the rest of his staff & not whatsoever in shock. Per the owner "this is common sense", obviously not since the "cook" handling the food is handling the trash at the same time with the same gloves. Nice clean location. My dish was hot fresh and fast but, a little over priced for the quantity. I give four stars for quality as my bowl of shrimp with vegetables was equal to that of eating at an actual restaurant and not a fast food spot. The employees greeted me promptly when I walked in and when placing my order I asked about the eegee slushees that they displayed in photos. She offered me a free sample of my choosing and the watermelon pineapple was a lightly sweetened cool refreshing treat. I have never eaten at a Samurai Sams before now and I don't think it would be a place I would go out of my way for. Ridiculous visit. Was "helped " by Barbie. She was a jerk the whole time. Left a sour look on her face the whole time we checked out and ordered. Accidentally used the wrong card which didnt go through. She handed us what we thought was a receipt and we started to walk away. She pretty much yelled "Excuse me! Didnt you read the receipt?" We looked down and saw it didnt go through and used a different card. She gave us dirty looks the whole time. Glared at us while we ate and said nothing when we went to leave.
