Large. Tiny bits of meat. No meat underneath. That's it. Disappointing.
    Emma C.

Very small amount of meat, even if you get the large. Nothing like the photos that you may see provided by the chain. Disappointed.

This is the one sauce you will get

Avoid this franchise! Unlike all the other Samurai Sams this location will greet you with snotty and disrespectful service and blatantly doesn't care if they have customers. When I placed my order I asked for extra sauce for the teriyaki bowls and when I arrived and received my order I checked my request was fulfilled. I received a teaspoon of sauce per bowl (see pic) to accommodate my extra sauce request. I asked the lady (supposedly the owners daughter) about the extra sauce I requested and she said that was it. Then I preceded to open the bowls I ordered and as I expected there was no sauce on the whole bowl. Just the chicken had a small amount of sauce. I asked her for more than a teaspoon of sauce and she said that would be an extra charge! She said we are already giving you free sauce. Lol I pointed to the open bowl (see pic) and I asked her if she thought a teaspoon of sauce would cover all the vegetables and rice in this bowl? She replied in a snotty condescending tone, "we charge for extra"!!! I asked to talk to a manager and he came out and said "these are our extra sauces and we already gave you some free." I again calmly asked him how this location thinks that a teaspoon of sauce could cover the rice and Vegetables in this bowl. Every other Samurai Sams give you enough sauce or the sauce is adequate with in the bowl. He replied very sarcastically "if you want more you will need to pay for it or go to another samurai Sams!" The customer service was non existent and it was crystal clear they don't have one ounce of respect or concern for their customers. There are so many choices for dinner in Phoenix. Don't patronize businesses that could careless about their customers.

Farthest is steak and chicken mix. Both large size teriyaki bowls.
    Stephanie I.

We love the teriyaki bowls! Those large size bowls are huge, when you eat it all you want to pop. Love it. Delicious sauce. We get chicken and steak both tasty. We usually call ahead and pickup. We off thunderbird and 101 and I drive here for these teriyaki bowls. One day I'll try other items lol.

The first thing that stood out was the beautiful interior design. The space feels modern, stylish, and inviting, making it perfect for a date night or even a solo dining experience. The aesthetic bar area creates a great atmosphere, and while we chose to sit inside, they also have a lovely covered patio for those who prefer outdoor seating. The food and customer service were both excellent. Portions were generous, flavors were on point, and every dish we ordered was enjoyable. We started with the Heart Attack, garlic edamame, and shrimp tempura appetizers. The garlic edamame was especially memorable--I loved the addition of sesame oil, which added so much flavor and made it stand out from the typical version. To drink, we ordered green tea and a Sapporo on draft. The Sapporo was light, crisp, and airy--definitely something I would order again. For our main dishes, we enjoyed the Sensei Roll, the Screaming "O" Roll, and a nigiri plate from the happy hour menu. Everything was delicious, but the Screaming "O" Roll was the clear highlight of the meal and a must-order in my opinion. Between the beautiful ambiance, attentive service, generous portions, and flavorful food, Haru Sushi delivered a fantastic dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

Some of their specialty rolls are $50/roll!!! I repeat- FiIFTY American dollars per roll. I don't know that I've seen prices that high even in Scottsdale or Las Vegas. There's no reason that this casual sushi spot should be charging like they're off the coast of Japan in an elite cliffside restaurant. The food is very good, but it's not "I need to finance this meal", $50/roll good. Also.. I asked for the WiFi password (literally titled "Haru Sushi Guest") so I could work on my laptop if needed, just to be told they were not allowed to give out their WiFi password out to anyone (even the staff aren't allowed to use it). Kind of silly to be gatekeeping something as simple as WiFi in the year 2026. I would have loved to make this my new working lunch spot, but between the egregiously high prices and the WiFi witness protection program, I'll be skipping it next time.

Tonkatsu - great portion served with a side house salad and white rice and a generous portion of katsu sauce. Really glad we shared this entree between two people. Netflix Roll - a roll that just makes sense. Great flavor, sweet mayo sauce was really good. Perfect bite size. Large Sapporo to share - served in an ice cold cup!! First time here. Our server was incredibly sweet and her smile made us feel at home. The service is great. You can write on the menu to order or just verbal with the server. Space is clean. There's a special menu with Natto Bombs and Uni!! There's more. If we didn't order too much we would have defs went for the Uni. See you soon for the dinner Omakase Chefs choice for $44 next time!! Right when we walked in the door, we had a warm greeting from Sohui, the hostess and our server. The atmosphere was very trendy, upbeat with colorful murals on the walls. In addition we ordered a Lollipop Roll, Spicy Tuna Hand Roll, Spicy Yellowtail Hand Roll and a Salmon Skin Hand Roll. All the Sushi was presently beautifully. The quality of fish was excellent... all tasting wonderful. LOL to note: my friend is very particular on how he likes his Spicy Tuna Hand Rolls to be VERY VERY SPICY while tasting great! The Sushi Chef NAILED IT! So much so, my friend ordered 3 of them! We will definitely be back when in Glendale. Atmosphere: trendy, upbeat, fun place. Service: excellent. Food: excellent.

We started with the Ahi Tuna Crispy Rice, which was perfectly crispy with fresh, flavorful tuna on top. We also ordered the Hamachi Sashimi, which melted in your mouth and tasted incredibly fresh. For sushi, we had the Sake Roll and added the seared miso butter, which took the salmon to another level and was one of our favorite bites of the meal. The highlight of the night was when Chef David surprised us with one of his specials: seared yellowtail. It was absolutely incredible--lightly seared, buttery, and packed with flavor. If it's available, don't hesitate to order it! For our signature roll, we tried the Harumi Roll. It was good, but after seeing and tasting more of the menu, we both agreed we would probably order the Yellowtail Trio instead next time. To pair with dinner, we had the Montepulciano, and it was an excellent choice. Smooth, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the sushi. Harumi continues to be one of those places where the quality is consistently outstanding. Between the fresh fish, creative dishes, and attentive chefs, it's hard to make a bad choice here. We'll definitely be back to try even more of the menu!

The sashimi appetizer was probably the best part, fresh, nice thick cuts, and it even came with fresh wasabi, which was a nice touch. The chicken katsu was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and came with a good amount of salad. The ramen, though, was kind of disappointing, $9 for basically instant noodles and half an egg. The shrimp fried rice was solid, not greasy and a good portion. The spider roll had way too much batter, so you could barely taste the crab. The tuna bomb was small, just a bite-sized tuna-avocado roll, but the tuna pieces were pretty generous. The chicken karaage had good flavor but the batter was a bit thick, and the asparagus roll was just okay. Overall, it was a mix of hits and misses. The sashimi and fried rice were definitely the stars, especially with that fresh wasabi. Give it a little improvement here and there, and this place could really turn out great under the new ownership.
