Woefully underwhelming. Bland food with no seasoning. They say they have a full bar but can't make run of the mill cocktails like a long island. Definately overpriced for the quality.

Best hibachi ANYWHERE, not just Milwaukee. They know what they're doing. Absolutely delicious.

I hadn't been to Samurai in years and recently popped in for lunch. I remembered it being good but little else. Anyway, I was warmly greeted at the front and had some sushi by myself in a pretty empty place. It was an exceptional experience! The sushi and soup I got were very good, as was the tea. Service was very prompt and friendly the whole time. I went again with co-workers a few weeks later and all four of us had a similarly excellent time. That time I got the teriyaki chicken bento box. So good. Honestly, the triumvirate of restaurants one by one in that strip mall are all gems in Glendale. Chinese, Himalayan and Japanese and all three are well worth visiting!

Hibachi, sushi, tempura, etc. this place does it all. So much fun with the dinner and a show as the chef prepared and great portions. The fried rice was enough for tomorrow. The two shrimp appetizers are served with the plate. Fresh vegetables and a nice piece of protein. I opted for the swordfish which was cooked perfectly but unfortunately, all I could taste was the salt The soup was like a salty fishy broth. I. We were a party of 4 and got charged 18% gratuities. Heard this practice is no longer allowed? I usually tip 20% but this threw me off so that's all they got.

Ordered take out recently two times and was very satisfied both times. Sushi tasted fresh and the signature rolls that I got were yummy. I ordered: The Amazing Roll (not to be confused with the Tuna Amazing Roll) The Green Bay Roll The Millennium Roll All good rolls with good flavor. Definitely check out Samuri. There's plenty of parking, as it's in the plaza behind Pick N Save. Service was pretty fast and friendly, although the encounter was brief re: COVID. They seem to be following all safety protocols; I had no concerns.

I am rating 5 stars for the sushi alone, as I didn't try the Hibachi this time around! If you're a fan of cooked rolls or fresh tasting fish, do not overlook Samurai. I have been on the hunt for the best sushi rolls of the Midwest since I moved here from California, and this place gave me hope. I ordered the Rock N Roll, Rocky Mountain Roll, and Las Vegas Roll. I'm a big fan of cooked rolls with cream cheese since I am always cautious of raw fish when I try new places, and Samurai's options had fantastic flavor. The Rock N Roll was a raw fish option that pleasantly surprised me. It tasted fresh and had the perfect addition of crunch. Service was a little slow, but they only had one waitress staffed on a Sunday afternoon. Jean was a rockstar in serving all the tables she did. I would definitely revisit.

Walking up to Samurai, I was hesitant. A strip mall Japanese restaurant, cross my fingers. But I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. We chose not to sit at a grill table, having a child with us, opting for a regular seating. I ordered the hibachi vegetable dinner, and the tofu bumped this review from a 3 to 4 star! I've been to places that butcher the tofu (ironic pun intended) but this Samurai does it right with the texture and consistency of the tofu, plus the seasoning. It must have been marinating for awhile! A small mushroom soup and side salad comes with the dish, and both of those were pretty standard, nothing noteworthy. But the amount of food for $13 is remarkable! The tempura roll was tasty, and reasonably priced. My suggestion of improvement would be to clean up the hallway by the bathroom. There were a ton of boxes and containers all over, leaving the area messy and unkempt. And any kind of decluttering the front area by the waiting booths would make the interior lighter.

One of my favorite restaurants in Mill Valley. Great rolls, fresh sashimi's, nice wine. Go early or late as there might be a 20 min line.

To start off, I ordered plum wine, which of course was delicious. For our appetizer we ordered the pan fried gyoza. It was so light and airy absolutely delicious. Now for the main course, I went with the pineapple fried rice with chicken. I have to say this is the best pineapple fried rice I have had from any Thai restaurant. The curry powder is strong here, which is my favorite. It came with a side of Thai chili sauce which was definitely a unique surprise, but I absolutely loved it. It complimented the dish very well. My boyfriend went with the pad Thai. It was also absolutely delicious. He ate the whole thing. Now I will say I didn't finish my dish and took the rest home however it seems the waiter took offense and asked me if there was something wrong with the fried rice! I was definitely shocked and I said no it was absolutely delicious, but I just can't finish it. It was definitely a awkward moment to be asked that especially in front of other people in the restaurant. I certainly was not complaining about anything. I was thoroughly enjoying my meal. So yes, I was a little disappointed by that interaction and hoping if other people don't finish their meals that they're going to be questioned. If I didn't like my meal, I wouldn't be asking for her to go box that's for sure. I'm not knocking any stars for that of course.... I had a great time. We enjoyed our food and drinks. The waiter was working very hard. It started getting really busy and he was apologizing for the delay because it did take a while for our food to come out. We will definitely be returning, and I am excited to try another dish off their menu.

We all got drinks, for 5 people: it was 165, which from my experience is pretty good. The restaurant had a very cool vibe with a colorful bar area, and bamboo to separate the hibachi area from the dining area where people ordered from the kitchen. It was fun, tasty, and the chef was really funny. Would go again :)

The meal started on shaky ground with the tuna tataki. Dry and somewhat fishy, I had no desire to have more than one piece. The ponzu sauce also did not have the flavorful, citrusy tartness that could have saved this dish. Thankfully, things did get better. The Spanish grasshopper roll was flavorful, much more fresh tasting, and had a nice level of heat. The dragon roll and the crazy roll were also decent but not amazing. Thankfully, the tataki set the bar pretty low for everything else. Service was also decent in that our server was friendly but somewhat forgetful and main courses didn't quite arrive together leaving some to stare at their food while others waited for theirs. This was not a major issue, though, and only helps to explain why this was just an average experience. One final note was how unusually dark the restaurant was with very dark paint-chipped walls. Additionally, the walk to the restrooms took me past a small graveyard of broken and unused chairs. The spiral bound menus were all in various levels of disrepair. The only reason I mention these things is because there's a certain level of attention to small details that can make or break my level of comfort in eating sushi at any particular restaurant. Pricing was shockingly inexpensive for the amount of food. Unsurprisingly, a service charge was added since our group was large - but I was shocked that it was only 15% - which I have never seen. We all made sure to add to the gratuity reflective of our appreciation for the hard work of our server. Overall, not fantastic - but definitely not the worst sushi place I have been. Not sure I have a strong desire to give this one another try, though.

I stopped by for a scoop of mint chip custard and it was creamy, rich, cool, and delicious. But - really is there no bad day for custard? No, there isn't! This place is busy all year round, and for good reason. For the custard, there is usually a flavor of the day, plus the usual favorites, vanilla and chocolate, plus a sundae and shake of the month. A sign outdoors advertises the flavor of the day and a monthly menu of each flavor of the day is available online, if you want to plan ahead for your visit. If you've not been to this Milwaukee icon, it's a must-stop; the custard is really, really good. The retail store is set up like a 50s type diner, and there are plenty of folks ready to take your order. There is no seating indoors, just a few tables for standing-only to munch and chat. However, there is outdoor seating like a mini amphitheater on cement steps, and when the weather is nice, it is not unusual to see large groups of customers sitting outside eating ice cream or other treats or burgers. The menu also includes burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, shakes, malts, floats, and sundaes, too.
