    Box of donuts
    Amy S.

Maybe I'm missing something but I didn't find anything overwhelmingly amazing about the donuts from Donut Monster. I had two, a buttermilk with sprinkles and a vanilla chocolate buttercream, and was decidedly underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong they were fine, but for the price I expected some of the most amazing donuts I've ever had and I just didn't get that. The flavors were just kind of meh and the donuts felt too dense and bready. Not what I'm usually looking for in a donut. I'm always willing to give a place another try just in case they were having an off day, but truthfully I'm not expecting to change my mind with a follow-up visit. I can think of quite a few better donuts in the city for the same or lesser cost.

I had their donuts when they just opened and my colleague brought a large box back to the office to share. I was pleasantly impressed by how good the donuts were that time. This year they became a part time vendor at Tosa's Famers Market and I was so excited to try them again. Overall, we really enjoyed what we got. I am an old-fashioned donut girl. Although their old-fashioned chocolate donut looked very soft & the shape looked not as good, it tasted very good and still got the dense texture! The other donuts and fritter were not too greasy which are what we like. The blueberry filling in the blueberry donut tasted pretty refreshing and not artificially over-sweet at all. I also tried their $6 Japanese Caramel Nitro Cold Brew. Pretty standard price for a nitro cold brew at 16oz and I honestly just wanted to know what "Japanese Caramel" was. It's good, sweet, very smooth and still had nice coffee flavor. Nothing really special or magical about "Japanese caramel" to me though haha. I hope their market menu can include more things that they sell at store haha.

Oh my goodness. There's a reason why there are lines out the door to this place. Donuts are expensive. But well worth it. - I don't like coconut, but the coconut cream donut still killed it for me. - Can't say that their fritter was my favorite, though their most expensive item. It was more like a dessert pie than a donut. - chocolate ring - so scrumptious. even a bit crunchy. I gotta stop. They were all good. I'm getting hungry for more and it's 3am. I left the donuts on my counter in an air conditioned home overnight, but the cream went bad the next morning. Guess there are no preservatives in these donuts!! I'm fine with that!

Stopped here for a breakfast sandwich on a Sunday and wasn't disappointed. Bacon egg and cheese on one of the best English muffins I've ever eaten in my life. The spot was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly. I only wish they had a little more seating inside. Otherwise, no complaints!

The donuts were good but nothing to necessarily write home about. They are a little pricey, which is fine if it's a spectacular donut but it was average at best. All of the donuts were pretty dry, but one thing I will note is that the flavor combinations were great. I personally liked the sweet potato donut the best and would definitely recommend that one! The Donut Monster location is super nice and quaint, but would I go out of my way to have it again? Probably not.

Donut pass them up I've been watching their pop-ups all summer but never got a chance to stop. On a recent Saturday I set my alarm to make the trek, because if you sleep in you miss out. I got a sampling of donuts for the fam, and a breakfast sandwich to enjoy post-run with the pup. While Donut Monster is no way convenient for me, I'll definitely go out of my way to stop again. Even though I arrived just after opening, there was already quite a line formed but it no moved quickly. I didn't feel rushed picking the donuts, and had to wait only a few min for the sandwich order. The donuts themselves were of goood quality, not the best I've ever had, but best in town. The breakfast sandwich was perfectly done. I stay away from carbs for the most part but the muffins are too good to pas up on.

I wanted to try someplace new for coffee and a breakfast sandwich, so I stopped in here around 11:30 on a Sunday. By that time, most of the donuts and other pastry were gone. When I asked the girl behind the counter what the best time to come in was, she said 8:00 and admitted that most everything was gone by 9:00. Sometimes 10:00. Then, when they're gone, they're gone. They don't make any more. This, I thought, is unfortunate. Still, the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was good. I loved how, instead of reheating some pre-packaged egg slice, the egg was made fresh in front of me. This made the sandwich a nice, hearty size. I also tried the Japanese Caramel Nitro Cold Latte, which is made with miso. That was really delicious, but I wished it had come in a bigger size. This is a cute place with limited seating, and if you want to sample all they have to offer, be there when they open at 8:00. Otherwise, you're pretty much out of luck.

White plastic shard? Baked into dough

Do you like plastic pieces in your food? Lacking tastebuds? Do you like wasting money on food that belongs in the trash? Are you a sucker for all things hype? Then this place is for you! The hours and days for being open are terrible, when you do arrive they're sold out (how is there so many return customers?!) Finally was able to purchase 4 donuts on a recent visit, 2 filled, 2 with holes. $5 each for small subpar donuts. Is this place a joke? A front for a blackmarket business? Or is the back of house staff lacking? I really wanted to like this place, seeing as there are many "donut monsters" in my family, I'd rather go to Kwik trip or the grocery store..at least those donuts taste good and fresh. Very unhappy and disturbed customer.

Egg cheese and avocado on an English muffin. The avocado is smashed, the cheese is a cheddar spread, and the eggs are seasoned well.

The first couple of weeks the donuts were amazing. Large and totally filled. We are noticing smaller donuts and a third or less filling. Such a bummer we really enjoyed the first couple of weeks. Excited to have a different high-end donut and breakfast option place in town. We will be taking a break from coming here. It has really gone down hill in our opinion this past few weeks. Not sure why the change in size and skimping on the filling. Especially at that price, which we were willing to pay but not the way it's transgressing. The brioche raised donut is very good. The past couple times they've been out of our favorite chocolate buttercream filled doughnut. 8:15 AM one Sunday morning, there were four left. They were still very good but we were disappointed this time. All of these buttercream filling had a third less of the filling than the first time we had chocolate covered butter cream donuts unfortunately. The lemon poppy glaze has a nice tart flavor to it. I also enjoyed the avocado egg cheese English muffin sandwich. Next time I will ask for my English muffin to be a little more toasted, I love the crunch.

Very solid donuts and breakfast sandwich. It's also nice having a donut shop in the north shore area.

We were not impressed by the donuts. We get better donuts at Pick N Save or Krispy Cream. The prices are ridiculously high.

Date of visit: December 14, 2025…read more I haven't been in this location in years, as this just isn't a part of town that I get to all that much but I was down the street at Colectivo with some friends and needed a couple items, so it made sense to pop down here to snag them. I either forgot or didn't realize that all of the traditional "grocery" items--those things you would find in the middle of the store at most grocers--are actually upstairs, with the lower level all of the more specialty items, though it was nice to walk through these other areas and fully appreciate that this is a bit of an upscale store; a true Metro Market as opposed to the one near me in Glendale that is a Pick N Save with a new sign. Once I headed upstairs I was able to find all of the things that I needed and even perused the Clearance section. This level was definitely in rougher shape than the fancy lower level, though it was also busier so that makes sense though I was expecting a bit more given that this is supposed to be a higher caliber of store. All in all, it gets the job done, but not really something that I would go out of my way to return to in the future.

I'm giving the Metro Market Pharmacy in Shorewood a 5-star rating! Melissa and Christine treat…read moretheir customers like family and they're both knowledgable, caring, and helpful.
