We ended up here unexpectedly on a random weekday morning. Formerly an IHOP, Sammy's tours that they've been making pancakes under their roof since the 1950's. And it shows. Free of the IHOP label, they can do whatever they darn well please. That includes a filling weekday breakfast special (eggs, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes) for $6.99 and a tasty, tall stack of Nutella pancakes for just over $8.00. That's what we tried, and we were satisfied and so, so full about 40 minutes later. Mmmmm... Throw in a cup of coffee and our bill was under $20.00! I will definitely be back. Get the nutella crepes! My sister and I stopped in after our 5am work out today. (I know, I know) We shared the nutella crepes combo: 2 crepes with choice of banana slices or glazed stawberries, hash browns, eggs and 2 sausages. It was plenty for us to share. At $9.99 it seems a little pricey but it was a lot of delicious food. The restaurant itself was clean and cozy. Our server was friendly and service was quick. The best food ever and the service excellent I recommended to everybody and sometimes you need to wait, but it's worth it

I've been wanting to try Sammy's for awhile now and I finally got around to it. We got there a little late for a Sunday but we were still able to get seated immediately which was very nice. We got vanilla and iced coffee to drink and it was so good I meant to only take a sip but I couldn't stop drinking it! Then our food came out I got the waffles and fried chicken. Literally the best fried chicken I've ever had and the sauce that comes with it is amazing. The waffles were nice and fluffy and they have a variety of syrups you can use my favorite was the blueberry. My girlfriend got the taco salad and as you can see the presentation of it is 10/10. The salad itself she said was very delicious everything tasted fresh. The service was wonderful as well they were happy to help with anything we needed and were constantly checking on us. read more

We have been here 4 or 5 times and everytime I come I am surprised how good the food is. The workers have all been super friendly and accommodating. We went recently and they had tables set up in the parking lot and I was worried how our experience would be, but the service is so friendly and the food is so good, we didn't even care that we were sitting in a parking lot. I really hope they make it through this time, it would be a big loss to lose Sammy's. read more

I really thought we were going to like this place a lot more than we did. There was a huge wait when we arrived, which usually is a good sign. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive, no issues there at all. The food, however, was not very good and definitely not worth the cost. We had a banana nut waffle, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage and hashbrowns. The waffle has an ingredient in the batter that gives it a strange taste, the sausage was slimy and not flavored well, and the biscuit and gravy was fine if I was at a cheap diner but pretty basic and unflavored to cost $11.99. read more

When seated server had to be called from the inside to come out & take our order after waiting for an additional 10min. Wrong food order came out, burnt onion and bell peppers in the potatoes, potatoes are packages as is almost everything else. 80% of the food is preheated, cold or not fully cooked/heated. There was a hair in the middle of the toast, server was asked 3 times for extra napkins she never brought out. We had a party of 5 and food came out 5 min apart for each person. You get a lot for the price, so in an effort to save you and your family some money in this current economy, orders a five stack of the Sammy's pancakes, then get a separate fourth count of whatever type of specialty pancakes float your boat. I read a lot of the reviews and thought it would be a great place to meet and grab breakfast with a friend. We were seated inside and I have to say, there wasn't enough distance (during COVID) so I wasn't comfortable but that was my own fault. The French toast was average - too much strawberry jam on top of the banana and strawberry one. The iced coffee was far too sweet. Also, I checked my bank statement and they charged me twice. I get that they are busy but not a good mistake to make. I wouldn't go back nor would I recommend. read more

Country potatoes were crisp and amazing, the fried chicken was shockingly incredible, one could say breathtaking, crispy and tasty batter, the eggs were decent, but I had a two egg plate with bacon and two fat pancakes for just over $10. That's a great deal. And oh my god, be careful with the Nutella pancakes... they're THICKKKKKKKKK. Also very delicious and super rich. Free refills on fountain drinks. Delicious pancakes. For covid they have setup a very nice outdoor seating area in the parking lot. My fiancé was driving by the other day and noticed this new pancake house in the location where iHop had been for years. Same owner, different restaurant as the sign outside says. He wanted to give it a try. The thing is, I don't LOVE pancakes (except my sister's which have more protein in them). Too doughy and super sweet for my taste. But I do like blueberry pancakes, so I was game to give it a go. Problem: Massive wait time for a table. We were told the wait time would be 10-15 mins. Not too shabby. They have chairs outside and pipe fun 50s & 60s toe tapping tunes outside to entertain us while waiting. Turned out we waited 34 minutes for a table. If we had known when we arrived, we would have somewhere else which is what a family of 5 did after waiting a few minutes being told the wait time was 20-25 mins. Note to Mgt: With as long a wait time that we had after being told 10-15 mins, the ngr should have compted us coffee. Which we would have ordered if the little bowl of french vanilla creamers I noticed on some tables but not ours had been on our table. Didn't see them until after we'd ordered. The menu has way more variety than what they serve at The Original Pancake House on E Chapman, which is great for me. Waffles. French Toast. Eggies. Crêpes. Sandwiches. Salads. Burgers. Chicken. Options! With it being a new restaurant, there are new menus. There are typos. What looked a freat deal on our menu of the pancakes coming with your choice of a potato side included for $8 something, the choice of potato sides is a typo and lined out. The white lining out wasn't on our menu. I would have ordered the Combo, 2 pancakes, hash browns for $9 something. When the bill arrived erroneously charging us for the sides, the manager, Sammy, promptly and courteously removed them from the bill. I got the blueberry pancakes. He got them with a raspberry topping. I got the red potatoes. Now being served in a good sized bowl vs what another yelper got last week. He got the hash browns. Crispy and good! Selected the 4 strips of bacon side to share for $3.99. Our food arrived piping steaming hot in 14 mins. Good job! The 4 strips of bacon arrived crispy as ordered but are just on the puny side. Wouldn't order again. The pancakes were delicious. Nice plump good sized blue berries. And just like at iHop, your choice of flavored and classic syrups. We will definitely be back because the food was good and Jordan can get his pancake fix while I eat something else. I prefer the country fries at the Blue Frog. Me and my wife have come here Before and have gotten good food but today was the opposite. I ordered the sirloin and eggs, the first plate they brought had burnt sirloin, onions and mushrooms, it tasted like burnt charcoal & I told my serve and took it to get me a new one. Unfortunately I'm assuming the cook was being lazy and literally only cooked a new pieces of sirloin and put raw onions and raw mushrooms with it. And reused the same plate , literally gave me first order of hash brown with a new order literally on top of it. So I have hot and cold hash brown and raw vegetables with sirloin. I'm not a breakfast person but thought I would try this place anyways. It's an old I Hop with the same owner. It's rather small and seams like you would feel crowded if it's busy. Service was rather slow. Breakfast doesn't take that long to prepare. You don't see much of the server. I thought the pancakes were rather small and overall the meal wasn't very good. I went here once back when it was a ihop and was surprised to see it change to a chicken waffle spot, but was also very excited. I decided to try this the other night after walking 6 miles, because it seemed like the right thing to do. Not much has changed in the interior, since it became Sammy's, maybe a fresh coat of paint and new signs. We were seated right away as I'm assuming dinner is not their peak time. My friend and I both ordered the chicken and waffles since that's what we came for. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The waffles were big and fluffy, the 4 pieces of chicken had a nice batter and wasn't too greasy. It came with some kind of weird sauce that I set aside while I covered my chicken in original syrup. All in all we were both satisfied with our meal. Service was friendly and quick and what I saw other people ordering looked pretty good too. I went to breakfast with my parents this morning, only to realize that IHOP had been replaced with Sammy's Stack House. We decided to give it a try anyway. No renovations were made, but everything was repainted. The food was very mediocre and the pancakes were weak in size. I didn't really expect much. I saw a lot of 1,2,3 star reviews so I was hesitant to try this place. I'm so glad I did!! Our server, Lety, was kind and attentive. She made sure we were happy with our meal, it was busy and she handled our table very graciously. The food was also really good! The pancakes were fluffy and my girls loved their Mickey pancakes! I'm very picky about bacon and it was very crispy (but not burnt) and delicious!! Definitely will come here again!! This goes to show you, don't always listen to the negative reviews!!! Sammy's is a fun family dinner. My family and I eat here a few times a month and enjoy the family atmosphere. Kids eat free on Tuesday and Thursday with an adult entree and drink purchase. We always have something of the breakfast menu. Prices are fair and you get a good serving. read more

Not worth it. The staff and atmosphere is nice but the food is too pricy for the quality. My sister got the "famous" chicken and waffles but the chicken was very bland. I not sure if they season their batter and for some reason I kinda tasted like fish, also not sure if they reuse oil. Waffles were fine. And then at the end, as I was finishing my coffee, I found a piece of onion at the bottom. 10 minutes after we left my dad had to rush to find a bathroom twice, along with me mom.
