They have a small lounge area, but they do not allow pets, which I find annoying, most us drivers have a pet or pets with us on the road, they can't expect you to sit out in the 95 degree weather with your pet., but thankfully they allowed us to bring our pets inside, as long as they were in there carriers, (small dogs) A good variety of hotels down the road, there's a few that will come get you, taxi ride isn't awful, under $20, most hotels are under 4 miles away. Day 1: got here 1pm, waited until closing and had to leave so stayed at Pilot, 5 trucks ahead of us at this point Day2: got here about 7:50am, told only 1 truck ahead of us, got pulled in about 5pm. Close to 6pm they tell us they will be able to have the truck ready to go on about 30 min! They close at 7 so we were very thankful and excited they were going to have us done by closing! Really don't see why Google reviews all the people that reviewed left poor ones, I guess it depends on exactly what is wrong with your truck/vehicle, if parts need to be ordered and how many other trucks are ahead of you! I went in for a simple oil change, and as usual, they asked if I wanted to replace the air filter and cabin filter. Nothing out of the ordinary--until I left. When I opened my glove box to put away my receipt, I was shocked. It looked like someone had been rummaging through it, as if they were searching for money or something to take. I have photos showing exactly how I found it. I called immediately, and the employee told me, "Well ma'am, sometimes they need to open your glove box to get to the cabin filter." I explained that this isn't the first time they've checked my filters, and never--not once--has my glove box been left in that condition. I felt completely violated. Thankfully, I didn't have anything valuable in there, but this experience has made me lose trust. From now on, I'll make sure to remove anything important before taking my car in for service. Just a warning to others--be cautious. I'm extremely upset.

We took a trip to Laredo and he immediately wanted to wash the road bugs/dirt off our vehicle. He went in to get an oil change for his truck that comes with a car wash, which he upgraded to a basic interior cleaning. He's pretty particular about keeping his car clean and immediately noticed as he was leaving that the tint on his windows was scratched. Trust that he keeps tabs on exactly what his truck looks like, so this was 100% done here. To be fair, I encouraged him to complain and he said there would be no way to prove it was done there as he didn't have before/after pics, so im not sure what actions would have been taken to correct the damage. So he took the L, but i figured I'd warn others who like to keep their things nice that you might end up having to pay for a new tint job.

But I never requested any computer check because my car didn't have any service lights 'on'. But I just wanted for them to give me the report on my car and get out of there. Because the day before I left my car like at 08:30 and I was told they would be done with visual inspection that same day but I called at 5:30 pm and was told they didn't have time to check it and if I wanted to leave it overnight or pick it up and bring it again in the morning. Not even an apology for not calling me in advanced so I could make plans to get a ride for work the next day. So anyways WATCHOUT again with that front deck don't let them poke your eyes like they did to me. Make sure they tell you straight out how much you're gonna pay. Once they finally put the new unit in it was faulty and wouldn't shift from 1st to 2nd gear. After 2 more tries they finally got it to work correctly... Until today. I'm now sitting on the side of the highway at the closest shop I could find. where they informed me the 6 bolts holding the transmission to the transfer case were finger tight. Which the technician said is the fault of the shop that installed it. After calling JR Martinez and politely asking if they would be willing to do anything I got a very short fused woman on the phone. So all this to say, not olny are the mechanics bad, and the parts faulty, but the customer service also sucks! I will not be returning to JR Martinez South!
