All the food came to the table quickly and piping hot. The rolls were bigger than I'm used to but so good - filled with cabbage, glass noods, and mushroom. Although the cabbage is a side dish, we ate it as an appetizer and thoroughly enjoyed the wok fired, fish saucy bite. I'm a bit of a light weight when it comes to heat, so I only had a small serving of green curry with rice, but it was VERY GOOD! Not too spicy for those that like heat, but super flavorful. The pad se ew was a little different from what I was expecting with the addition of yellow bean. It was a tad bit salty, but still good. I would order again but with beef. I'm so sad! I ordered the BBQ chicken from here and it came to my table ice cold in the middle, the waiter acted like it wasn't a big deal. They warmed it up and brought the same chicken back out that's I had stuck my finger in to show it was cold. OK, let's get into it!!! I've had a friend who absolutely loved this place, but I never got around to trying because it was "too far" from me. Anyway, I got the shrimp pad Thai and that was my fav noodle dish out of the two that I ordered. The rice noodles were nice and chewy; it had a bit of a resistance to them, but somehow I really enjoyed that aspect. The chicken pad see ew had a heavenly "soy sauce" and wok fragrant to the dish. It was a bit saltier than I would have liked mine to be, but I enjoyed it. Not as much as the pad Thai, but still good. I didn't get a chance to get the Thai iced tea, but hopefully there is a vegan version some time soon. Finally came to same same to try their dineLA menu! I've tried a lot of other Thai restaurants in LA but for some reason have never dined here and boy am I glad we did! It's a small restaurant that's part of a strip mall with free parking (limited spaces though) in silver lake and they don't take reservations. My group ended up waiting for about 30-40 mins on a Monday night around 730pm. One of my friends got lucky and had an open parking spot when he arrived. My other friend and I parked on the street with metered parking (but was free since we came after 7pm). There isn't really any space to wait for your table so you'll probably have to wait outside. They have one bench inside. The tables were adequately spaced apart with most tables just enough for parties of 2 so don't come with a large group or expect a long wait. The ambiance is really cute, a little dark. Think candlelit dinner. Really nice for a date spot actually. They also have a bar that you can sit at if you don't want to wait for a table. The dineLa menu comes with a drink along with appetizer entree and dessert. For my drink, I ended up getting a glass of wine since they ran out of the sangria. (You can get a non-alcoholic beverage too if you don't drink). For my appetizer, I got the baked shrimp salad. For my entree, I got the stir-fried crispy pork belly and for dessert, I got the tapioca pudding. My friends ordered the other items on the menu so we were able to try everyone on the dineLa menu. Everything was so good!! The naked shrimp salad is spicy and sour. The fried tofu were so crispy and the sauce for the chicken satay skewers was really good. My favorite was definitely the naked shrimp salad though. It was so packed with flavor. Plus I also love spicy food. All the entrees were really good too! You can't go wrong with either of them. The jungle curry was spicy so do not recommend ordering that if you can't handle spice. If I had to choose, I think I like the Katieam (crispy garlic and black pepper) because it came with a lot of veggies (cabbage). Although the Khao Mu Grob Kapow (Kapow style pork belly) was a close second. The sauce was soo good with the rice! For dessert, definitely go with the tapioca pudding! It was surprisingly good! The flan was alright too but the tapioca pudding is so interesting and unique! It's a warm pudding which I was not expecting. It has a nice faintly sweet coconutty taste from the pandan. The coconut cream on top had a bit of saltiness to it which really brought out the sweetness in the pudding. Overall, such a great meal and I highly recommend. So worth it for the dineLa menu too!
