I called Sam Jolley's Plumbing to find a water leak in the line coming from the meter to the house. The plumber Rolston Forrester came to my house in Palm Beach Gardens to find the leak. Took out his detection equipment and proceeded to try to locate the leak. After about 15 minutes set up and locating time He said he found the leak and let me listen on the head phones to the supposed water leaking out. He said it would cost me $1500 to fix the leak that he said was about 16" under the sod. I thought that was excessive. I decided to call another plumber to fix it they came out and dug where Rolston said the leak was, no leak. The new plumber from Drain to Drain Micheal Ennis dug down and found nothing, no leak at all. The water usage was a sprinkler zone valve on the north side of the house that was stuck open, Mike found it about 5 minutes. At the end of the job Mike charged me $500. for digging up non existent leak that Rolston said was there and would fix for $1500. and locating to actual leak that was about 100 feet away. He said that if he had not dug up the yard the bill would have been $150.00 including finding the real leak and the labor to fix the actual leak. Rolston was 100% scamming me with the BS of the leak in the yard. Mike thought that he merely turned up the volume on the head set to make the rumbling sound that I heard. read more

Since we planned to stay in our house forever, we decided to pick the best option to take care of everything. Rob and one technician showed up on the day of the appointment. Both of them were very professional and carefully installed our new water heater with great care. They also took great care of our house in making sure to keep our house neat and clean during in installation process. In the end, the water heater was installed perfectly. I'll say one thing these two guys were phenomenal I got to give it to him they don't give up this was probably one of the nastiest leaks to find but they found it I would recommend DJ and Maguire has the best team your company has. Talk about going a step further I was having food delivered from Walmart when it arrived DJ helped bring my groceries in now that's what I call service one of the nicest guys you ever want to meet. I'm a retired disabled veteran from the Air Force and I really appreciate good service. UPDATE: This update review has nothing to do with the good work in finding the leak, the two techs did a great job. However, when it came for the company to give me a quote for repairs, I almost fainted. The quote for for removal of roots that were covering a leaking pipe and repair the leak in the pipe, they quoted me $1297.64 for parts and labor, I of course refused and called a local landscape company who charged me $125.00 for root removal. I then went to Home Depot and purchased (2) pipe connectors and a small section of pvc pipe which totaled $21.00. I called a local independent plumber who spent approximately 1 hour and charged me $75.00 for the repair. So in conclusion, My total repair was $221.00, which is a far cry from $1297.64. We were very pleased with the professional service they provided to us. We needed a new water heater and called them in to give us an estimate. In this time of COVID, their service experts arrive with foot coverings and masks. We had previously done two other bathrooms and the price was under $600. We also asked that new brass plumbing fixtures be changed out. The technician studied the brass Kohler fixtures for 15 minutes. Red signal to me. He then proceeded to give me a $4400 price for "non-members" and then a $3900+ price for "members". I said no thanks. Best price ? around $2900. [I cannot remember the exact numbers but these are close.] I spoke to the owner who didn't budge. Another plumbing company with a great reputation quoted me $700 or less. This is what I expected. BEWARE THIS COMPANY. Always ask how many hours to do the job and divide into the quote...... I understand that plumbers need to deal with emergencies first and can't always show up exactly when promised, however my experience withSam Jolley's sets a new bar for low expectations, especially for a company that claims to have high standards that match its pricing. I made a morning call about a toilet that had small amount of water coming out of the bottom and was told that someone would be at my house between 1 and 5. When I called at 4:50, I was told that the plumber was delayed until 6:30. At that point I suggested that since it wasn't an emergency, the visit could be done first thing in the morning. I had originally scheduled with Danica, but now Joseph was working with me and said that Alex would be there between 9 and 10 a.m. 10a.m., and no plumber, I called and Joseph said I was now assigned to Cameron who would arrive in an hour and a half. When I asked what happened I got involved in the biggest run around from him and Danica which was sitcom worthy. I didn't laugh. They obviously don't need my business. We just had a wonderful job done by our service technician Kameron on Monday (2/26/2024). He was prompt, knowledgeable, experienced and courteous. However, when I re-read the invoice, I noticed it stated that we had the "Main Shut Off Valve On Exterior Above Ground" replaced. The fact is that we had the Shut Off Valve to the water heater replaced. $882 was just too much for the replacement of an inside valve. I know it was a little over 12 years ago, but when Sam Jolley's replaced both the same valve and the entire water heater, the whole job only cost $740! Anyway, I sent my concern twice to Sam Jolley's Plumbing via their email address (info@samjolleysplumbing.com) and never received a response. Just for the record, we have used Sam Jolley's Plumbing since 2001 and had always been satisfied with their excellent work and reasonable prices. We had a smell in our bathroom and wanted to have the toilet removed to check. Their employee convinced us that the smell was behind the wall. We proceeded to remove a piece of the wall, but found no smell. He concluded that we would need a smoke test. We were charged $1,474 for the opinion. Our building performed the smoke test with their own plumber. The smell was coming from the toilet (wax seal). We actually paid for more problems because of the opinion. Jolley Plumbing justified the cost based on hours worked at $500/hr. read more

We have learned an expensive lesson. Sam Jolley Plumbing installed two new toilets for us. We bought the toilets and they furnished labor only. The technician did a good job. We now know never to take the first estimate. We were told the labor would be $1,800 to install the two toilets. When we expressed shock at that exorbitant price, the owner reduced the price to $1,400, which we stupidly accepted. Now we know we should not have paid more than $300-400 for the job. Expensive lesson learned. Next time we'll get other estimates for whatever the job happens to be, and I strongly recommend you do the same. read more

When I told him that was ridiculous he immediately reduced it to $375- still exorbitant. He then gave me a price of $375 to replace the p-trap under my kitchen sink (or "$671 for both"). Crooks. Hired to convert tub to shower in december. They failed rough inspection numerous times for plans and permit not avail for inspector , no cover plates, which results and comments are posted each day online and instead they went ahead and installed liner covering pipes and plates so inspector cant see to pass still no plans on site . Late January misled me into thinking it had passed to get final payment. 5 or 6 months later I'm told by building dept it had not . meanwhile cement board went up and here we are in September still cant pass. January she charged me addl 400 to haul away cast iron tub but instead months later a building worker helped himself to it for scrap without my permission. Final cost $2350 and since inspection cant pass my gc needs to tear out and rebuild shower. Turns out my ex had a bad experience with them too. read more

I thought I had a pipe leak and was referred by a good friend to call Sam Jolley. I called and received the nicest greeting and my appointment was immediately booked. Today the Plumber arrived promptly and he was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. It turned out that I have a roof leak and need a roofer. The plumber asked if there was anything else I want to him to look at while he was there. I had a minor problem, or so I thought, in my kitchen and asked him to take a look. He found that I had a much larger problem and that there was a lot of mold that had formed as a result. He fixed what he could and immediately put me in touch with a restoration company. I have used so many plumbers and this is the first time that I know I will actually call them again when I have a plumbing problem. I didn't feel taken advantage of and it was the best feeling.
