I'm in the process of buying a condominium and the inspection pointed out and over aged water heater that the insurance company refused to cover. I don't close for another month and they made it a condition of closing. Within 24 hours of calling, this team had a permit pulled, got the seller to sign it, invoiced me for the deposit, and sent me a proposal with the invoice. Now, just a couple weeks later and well in advance of the closing, the building department signed off on the permit this morning as they completed the work last Wednesday. Abysmal. I've been using Doc's for 17 years, but I'm done. I've been without a toilet for nine days, and no information, no urgency, no nothing from them. Plumber came on 6/17, needed a connector that he didn't have, said it would be ordered, someone would be in touch. I waited until 6/19, didn't hear from them, called and was told they'd be here to install on 6/23. I waited until 330pm, called, and was told I was wrong, they were coming on 6/24 (I wasn't wrong, BTW). On 6/24 the plumber came back, told me they had ordered the wrong piece, and we had to start over but that every rush would be put on it because "this was on him." Again I waited two days until 6/26, called at 1015am, was told I might have to order my own piece but she didn't really know, and the guy she had to speak to was going into a meeting but she'd call me as soon as he was done. I waited 5 hours, finally called again, and was told she still didn't have any answer for me. WTF kind of customer service is this?? I hung up, called back and asked for an owner or manager, but was told everyone was gone. Then I got the sob story about how busy and understaffed they are (but they're gone for the day before 4pm and don't have time to call me). So I've waited nine days, have paid $280 for the first visit, and have absolutely nothing to show for it. I have to start over with another plumber because nobody there can be bothered to order a part or even have the common courtesy to call and update me (BTW, on both visits from the plumber they were supposed to call and let me know he was en route, and never did). Stay away! Rocky replaced my water heater. Then the next day I found water running on my garage. He fixed the supply line however he left all the mess for me to clean up after he got paid. I've called Dan at Doc's plumbing for emergencies 3 times in a year! Every time, they show up within a few hours, solve the problem and remain reasonably priced. Stopped up drainage in the main bathroom due to old Fort Lauderdale pipes. A sprinkler gusher in the front yard after the landscapers cracked a pvc line and the beat goes on for us homeowners... You might know it would happen late on a Friday afternoon. It probably did that in compliance with Murphy's Law that, "If anything can go wrong, it will," along with the inherent corollary for that being, not only will it go wrong, but it will "Go wrong at the worst possible moment!." For me, it was my kitchen faucet with the cheap white metal insides of the handle breaking off, leaving me waterless, right smack in the middle of my prize preparation of a Cajun Shrimp Etouffee. Ugh! However, it was one phone call to Doc's Plumbing which gave me the assurance that a plumber would be out to my residence by 1:30PM on Monday. They even offered to send a man out immediately, but not thinking that failure to completion an etoffee constituted an emergency or matter of imminent threat to life, I declined. In the meantime, being the semi-Geekie type of guy that I am, I checked the Internet and then went out to Lowe's in search of a high tech electronic faucet. That's kind that comes with a battery pack and solenoid valve switch wherein you merely tap the faucet with the back of your hand to turn it on or off, meaning that when I have both hands a mess (most frequently the case with me) I will no longer dirty up the faucet hand when I go to wash up. On Monday, even an hour early, I got a call from Doc's telling me they could have a plumber at my place within minutes. Sure enough, 12:30 and he was here, a gentleman who was well mannered, polite, considerate and thoroughly competent. Though he had never seen or heard of a high tech electric faucet, managed to do the job quickly and efficiently as if he had performed the same task hundreds of times in the past. So no, I have a newly installed electronic faucet! I the know rule that the more gizmos something has, the more can go wrong, but I can't see that anything could be worse than that expensive but cheaply constructed facet I had with those crappy internal parts made of that prone to breakage white metal. Anyway, I couldn't have asked for better service than I got from Doc's, a better plumber and foremost, done at what I considered to be an exceptionally reasonable price. Five Stars!!! read more

I called Doc's plumbing when the meter man told me I had a leak at the meter. Meter man NEVER said it was pretty much an emergency, but even so, Doc's plumbing said they would be out the next day. They showed up on time and Damian, the employee who shoed up was masked and polite. as soon as he took off the meter cover off he saw water and he proceeded to vacuum it out and gain visibility. It was pretty clear then that we had a big leak. Damian called me out to show me & attempted to turn off the city water without success - it was too tight. He immediately contacted Ft Lauderdale utility service and explained problem and asked for them to come and turn off water. While waiting for them, he went to to get a part he didn't have. He had explained that he needed to dig up and move some of my shrubs to gain access, but he was neat and careful about it. He completed the repair, replaced the bushes and the dirt leaving everything clean and in order. This was a bit of a pricey repair, but I think it was appropriately priced for the work, time and service provided ! It turned out that the pipe that was leaking which had been installed by Wallice Plumbing (in Coral Springs) 3 years ago had an actual slice and resulting defect in it. Somehow they managed to install it anyway and I have been leaking for 3 years, but suddenly it got way worse. I have used Doc's several times - usually I get Greg as the plumber who is also extremely nice, punctual and efficient. I definitely recommend Doc's plumbing for any repair work or emergencies. They came out three times for a gurgling sound in my kitchen sink in my hi-rise condominium. They just left after the third trip to my place and the guy said its either a problem with the building (which is it not) or the R.O. Filter. I called cause my neighbor used them. Said hey my faucet is leaking and my bedroom needs a replaced faucet probably both 2 bathrooms and hey while I have 3 let's just go for all three. Well the lively and non timid phone lady said ohhhhh... that should not be a problem...the guy that showed up was great.. but then they said we'll let you know and tell me that I need 2 new faucets...and charged 120 just to look at them for the 1st visit...(.think I just told them that before they even showed up ) oh shocker... so my diagnosis was to get new faucets ....and 120 dollars on Friday just to let me know what I told them , i needed a few new faucets ...I called Monday saying how much ... we'll it was not known yet as the Friday notes were not read yet... I Asked when during the week that it might get read.... well they basically laughed at me and said they would get back to me .... they never did... I get it ....I was desperate for getting my sink's fixed and they were just over my Freaked out attitude of having no water .... guess we couldn't work together as they never called me back even after I said oh my sink has a water drain line broke and you gave me an estimate of what I said was the problem ..... they never came back to do the work... I thought the 120 first visit would go to the fixing of the work. No, they never came back , they never answered the phone....They did deliver some really bad attitude though...oh honey keep walking I wouldn't give them another chance with ALL THAT TUDE THEY THREW MY WAY.. Terrible people. They came to fix a clog in the bathroom sink and broke a pipe after they used the snake. Our hardwood floors got damaged from the flood that was created and they did not take responsibility for it. They conveniently didn't want to use their insurance. A lawsuit is what they need to put them out of business!! read more
