Great place with really nice people! All the food here is actually good, but the pho is especially amazing--packed with great flavor. This has become our go-to lunch spot. If you've never tried this place, you're definitely missing out. Highly recommend!

5 Stars - Better Than Panda Express, Hidden Gem! When you leave with empty plates, that's always a good sign--and that's exactly what happened here! We ordered the Orange Chicken and it was amazing--crispy even after 15 minutes. Definitely better than Panda Express. The Spicy Beef was packed with flavor, and the Pho my wife ordered had a rich, comforting broth with super fresh ingredients. On top of the great food, the lady who helped us was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The place is a little hidden, but totally worth finding. Big menu, great flavors, awesome service--we'll definitely be back!

Walking in you get sketchy; but we are glad we decided to just go all in. We order vegetable spring rolls, as you can taste it's homemade even to tasting the ginger. The orange chicken was more a 9 out of 10 as it lacked garnish and peppers. We had the full combination for the rice, and it was Amazing !

First time here. Service was amazing, and even the chef came out during my lunch to check on me. I got filled up on the wontons and tea, and only ate a few pieces of the orange chicken at the restaurant, but will be finishing it for dinner. Food and tea were good and the prices cannot be beat, especially for how much you get! I will be going back to try the soups and rice and chows too.

Deep within the plaza lies a gem. Tucked away from the gaze of casual eyes, there is Sam Hut. The food and service here is consistently great! The variety of Pho options all delicious. My favorite is the beef pho. The broth is rich and has that "je ne sais quoi" texture to it. This place has easily become my favorite Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant within the area. 10/10 highly recommend. read more

I have been coming to Sam Hut for a while and I take everyone I know here, I am surprised it has taken me this long to write a review. This quaint mom and pop restaurant serves Chinese food, Vietnamese Pho, and some Thai options. Their egg flower soup is the best on the PLANET! Whenever anyone in my house is sick, we go to Sam Hut. They are friendly, service is amazing, the people are really friendly, it is close to home...honestly, it is great. You won't regret a visit here. There are only 5 tables though, and they are kind of hard to find, which is okay with me because the less people that know about this place, the better. read more

They have a a large menu featuring delicious pho noodle soups,I had their signature house combination pho and it was terrific! They have delicious fried rice,chow mein,steamed rice dishes and a great selection of BOBA! They also feature delicious appetizers-I had their crispy fried shrimp and really tasted great! Little shop nestled up in a corner shopping strip. Super clean, little dive joint but upscale cleanliness. I can here for the advertised Vietnamese but there was hardly a Vietnamese dish on the menu besides a selection (hardly) of pho. So my craving for spring rolls almost had me leave but the staff was so nice & I wanted to support this family business. So I swollen my craving & tried out a couple items. All of it was clean & fresh and had Chinese been my desire it would have been a dead bang winner. I don't want to knock off stars bc I didn't look at the menu to see the limited Vietnamese entrees. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Its hard to see it since it is in the corner of the plaza in between 2 other businesses that overlap the entrance of the place. I wish I had known of it before since there is not too many options that I enjoy around my neighborhood. The owner was very attentive with us and made sure everything was good. The food was sooooo good. I had the war wonton soup and my son had orange chicken with fried rice. He loved the fried rice and enjoyed the chicken as well. They also have Boba! I think this will be new go to place when I don't feel like cooking! read more

Calimesa doesn't have a huge selection of restaurants so I just wanted to share my new find! Sam Hut is a hidden gem in the corner of the Best 99 shopping center and has the most authentic delicious pho I've ever had besides my momma's. Perfect for these brisk nights. My partner and I decided to try after I had seen someone's review on a Facebook page. It was a rainy day, so some comfort food sounded perfect! The person manning all stations (server, cook, phone operator, etc.) greeted us and let us know it was only him that night. The rain had caused lower demand, and less labor. He worked tirelessly to keep everything afloat! Even with all that, the food was absolutely fantastic. Worth the small wait and we will absolutely be back!! The veg egg rolls and spicy basil chicken are must tries!! True hole in the wall shop, and limited seating (only 5 tables in dining area). read more

Four days ago, in late afternoon I went inside and ordered take-out dinner for myself and my wife from Sam Hut. The ambiance was quite simple and the interior was clean. Service was fast and polite. My wife had orange chicken with fried rice and I had Mongolian beef with chow mein. There was only one other couple dining while I waited for the food. I think the cost was probably three to five dollars more expensive than in other nearby Chinese restaurants. When I got home we ate our meals and they were tasty. My wife did not eat any of my meal, but I ate several pieces of her orange chicken. Later that evening we both developed extreme intestinal cramps and diarrhea until approximately 4:00 AM the following morning. It was an extremely unpleasant experience for both of us. Based on this, I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

This is a hole in the wall, hidden gem! My husband was feeling sick and we were looking for some good pho on our way back from traveling. We found this online and we couldn't be happier. we got the combination Pho (chicken, beef & shrimp). It is so yummy! The portions were big! This is literally a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. I honestly thought this was going to be like a another "meh" restaurant and I was wrong! I usually gauge Asian restaurants by their fried rice and while it's not super authentic, it's very tasty. The portions were ample but surprisingly very affordable. I am sick and pho always makes me feel better. And I wanted to try a new place in town that served pho other than Ocean Pho in Yucaipa. Loved the food and the service was great. What a gem. In the mood for pho en route from Palm Springs to LA and stumbled upon this hole in the wall. Super clean. Very friendly and considerate service. One thing to note: jalapeños are automatically added to the bánh mì, so be sure to request no jalapeños when ordering if you're sensitive to spice. The seasoning and flavors in both bánh mì sandwiches were excellent, and all of the vegetables served with the bánh mì and egg rolls were fresh and crisp. In my opinion, it's often the little details like fresh produce that reveal the quality of a restaurant, and this place definitely delivered. We arrived around 7:30 PM and were a little concerned that we might feel rushed since it was getting close to closing time. Fortunately, that wasn't the case at all. The staffs allowed us to enjoy our meal at a comfortable pace, and we never felt pressured to leave. The dining area had two TVs showing family-friendly programming--one featured a Vietnamese cooking show, while the other was airing FIFA coverage on a news channel. It created a relaxed atmosphere, and we enjoyed a calm dinner with our 3- and 6-year-old children after a long day at the lavender farm. I also tried the Orange Thai Iced Tea. It was refreshing, though I didn't really notice much orange flavor. There are two individual single-stall restrooms available, and both were clean. Families will also appreciate that high chairs are conveniently located near the sauce and drink station. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience and would definitely return. Especially the ones with 1-2 reviews. Feels very friends-and-family fake reviews. And a lot of "best ever" praise, yet most of them don't even talk about the pho. Very nice hole in the wall Asian cuisine. I ordered the Chow Mein with Kung Pao shrimp, very delicious and tasteful. Everything here is made to order which makes the food coming out very FRESH! They also have Boba which looks delicious but didn't get to try it at this time. The young Asian lady working the cashier is very nice and attentive.
