I got the pad see ew with mock meat. Usually everywhere I go and order anything with mock meat it's hardly visible. They packed it with mock meat which I love! The pad see ew was just the right amount of salty. The restaurant was very cute and comfy. The host was as everyone said very nice. The price was reasonable. Since I heard the food was good, we went there today to give it a try. My mother and I waited to be seated. No one helped us. We walked over to some tables and saw that all open tables were reserved. There were one or two in the back we could have been seated at, but the staff was not interested in offering those to us. (Those tables looked like they were used by restaurant staff.) When we were still investigating where, if anywhere, we could sit, someone came over to tell us that they had some reservations coming in. The fact that we were ignored while "waiting to be seated" didn't help either and the fact that we were not offered the table/s in the back, which had not been reserved was quite insulting. I won't be back. No place is so good that I will put with being insulted. read more

Surin is a little gem. A little mom and pop restaurant. Everything I tried here was simply amazing. I love the yellow curry with different proteins in it but the one I like is not on the menu. Happily they accommodate me with no complaints or this is going to be extra for this or that. The ambience is simple: black tables and black chairs, some cool pictures on the wall, and lovely Thai statues are part of the décor. The place was busy when I showed up; I took that as a good sign and decided to eat there. The waitress came over to me as soon as she could and hurriedly took my order; I had to walk to the counter to ask for the drink I ordered after feeling I had been there a long time feeling forgotten (I know it was busy but always make sure the customer is acknowledged and given a place setting and their drink). Another woman, who was sitting at a table near the counter, heard me ask for my drink and brought it to me after the waitress apologized and told me she was "so busy" (the waitress is obviously overworked). We came here on a Saturday evening around 5p.m. for my birthday dinner. As soon as I arrived, the waitress informed me that it would be about 45 minutes to get our food out because they were falling behind on take out orders. We are a party of 11 people. There was only one other table of 3 people. There's plenty of seating. The decor was Thai inspired by not that special. We quickly looked through the menu so that we could put our order in. There seems to only be 2 people working. We had terrible trouble getting their attention. Our drinks came out slowly as well. The service was not that great. The food didn't take as long as she said. It probably took under 30 minutes. It all came out back to back. The first to come out was the sesame ball, which is a dessert. I wanted it for my teens. There were about 8 small sesame balls per plate. There should've been more sesame in it. It was too small. Since we were in a big group, we got several dishes to share. We got the pineapple fried rice, chicken fried rice, pad woon sen, pad Thai and pad see ew. Overall, the food was good. The pad Thai was too sweet. The fried rice was good. The special crunchy seafood rad nah was not what I thought. I'm used to the flat noodle. They subbed that for crispy noodles and gravy. It actually was my favorite dish! The location of this place is very convenient. It is off the 10 fwy. It is located in a strip mall. I had to pick Banning so that I could meet my family. I'm glad we ended up here. I have now tried another item on this restaurant menu, the barbecued pork egg noodle soup. It was delicious on a cold rainy day in Banning. I wish I had the words to really describe the delicious broth. It was complex, layered flavors that spoke of probably hours of cooking. The pork was flavorful and tender, and the egg noodles were cooked perfectly. I slurped up almost the entire bowl, although it could have fed two people. The last few times of being here have been really uncomfortable and unwelcoming with the service. Not sure what's going on and hope it gets better but we are definitely not returning due to your obvious ways of making someone feel like you don't want their business and being snappy at times over simple questions or concerns. The excitement of coming in to get a plate of food really turns into a sour plate of food not worth it anymore. My friend and love Thai food and had never been to Surin Thai. We will not be going back. We each got Thai Tea, a medium, for $5.95! They use half and half instead of coconut milk. We did not like the flavor of the Tea. We shared the $18 Mixed Appetizer Plate. We paid an extra $2.50 for a dish of Peanut Sauce. They use what tasted like flour tortillas for the chicken triangle appetizer. The eggs rolls were not tasty. The service was good and you sit at a table and the waitress comes to take your order. We ordered the kao moo grob with crispy pork belly, siomai, pad woo sen with chicken, and fried tofu. It was all delicious. The pork belly was extremely crispy and meaty, not just fat. The ginger sauce was so good that I put it on the tofu and siomai. The servings were good sized but not excessively large. There's definitely a focus on quality over quantity. We came here hoping it would be quiet and it absolutely is, in a cozy sort of way. Service was absolutely delightful. We were checked on but not repeatedly bothered. This restaurant is unexpectedly good! If you come here, you MUST try "Pineapple fried rice". I think this place has the best pineapple fried rice among all the Thai Restaurants that I have been to. I also ordered Tom Yum hot pot, Beef Salad (because they were currently out of stock for papaya salad), and also Pad Thai and bowl of white rice and they are good but not as good as the other restaurants that I have been to. And for 4 dishes, it costs me about $84 (rounded) which is not expensive. If you have the chance to visit Beaumont, CA or anywhere close to that, come try this restaurant. The down thing is it takes extremely long since it's a family restaurant, so if you come here alone then I suggest order online and go there pick up because I was waiting 1 hour to pick up my pineapple fried rice.
