Ordered the crispy pork belly banh mi. I can't skip pork belly if it's on any menu so I went for it. It took about 15 minutes for it to be made and I realized this is gonna be good if it's taking this long. The bread is made in house soft and crispy not hard not chewy almost melts away and you can tell all the veggies are fresh cut nice and cold with a freshly cooked pork belly. I believe this is the best one I've had so far and I live in the SGV. The flavor of the pork with the Mayo the veggies and I'm sure there was another ingredient I can't place gave it a light tang. This review is based off of their bbq chicken Banh mi and Vietnamese coffee. I was in the area and I was surprised to see a bahn mi spot in Yucaipa so I checked it out. I ordered the bbq chicken bahn mi and it was actually pretty good. The only thing I would take out in the description is the bbq sauce because there isn't sauce, it's just the marinade. But the flavor was good and the bread was good. As for the Vietnamese coffee, it was decent but nothing special. Overall I'd recommend trying them out but it's also hard knowing that I'm paying over $10 for a bahn mi sandwich when I'm used to paying about $7. I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the area. If you read the About This Business section, you will find out that the owners used to run a bakery shop in Vietnam and it definitely does show. I can't get over how much I love their tofu Banh mi, and my husband loves the brisket one! For appetizers we usually order the spring rolls and they put a big piece of your meat choice inside! TLDR: The food? YUM! But something's weird with the service right now and it might take a looooong time if it's busy. I'll upgrade to 4 stars if they get more streamlined. SO... That said, I'll address the recent elephant in the room: they seem very understaffed and disorganized when dinner gets busy. It wasn't always this way, so I'm not sure what changed. I thought other yelpers might be exaggerating recently with comments on the service, but we just experienced the struggle: People were waiting for tables while several tables were empty but with uncleared dishes on them. Staff would clear part of a table and then not return to clear the rest.It was a bit over an hour from the time we ordered until being seated and being served our food. My dish came out a good 10 mins before my husband's. To be clear, the food is still delicious! But for now I'll only go in if it's not busy. Tried out this spot today for some pho! It was absolutely delicious. We ordered a chicken pho, a beef pho with steak and brisket, a pork Bánh Mí and spring rolls all to-go. They give you a large portion of noodles, toppings, and broth with your pho. The soup was very flavorful and the meats were perfect. The sandwich and the spring rolls were also both great. Derive was quick and ordering over the phone was easy. When we picked up the food, I was pleased to see how clean the restaurant was. Everything here is made fresh, and you can tell by the quality. Delicious and authentic Vietnamese food in Yucaipa! I was craving soup and tried the pho with a choice of three meats. The broth tasted authentic and the noodles had a good texture! The pho also came with all the normal additions, like the herbs, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and lime, and they also had a sauce station. I also got the Thai tea and tried the Vietnamese coffee, and both drinks were good and not watered down. The banh mi also looked solid and they even had a vegetarian option with tofu. Banh mi is huge, restaurant is spacious! The sandwich was so big and it had a lot of delicious juicy pork in it. Also comes with some mayo, carrots, daikon, cilantro, and a large number of jalapeño slices. The meat and bread are warm and toasted. So good! Probably one of the worst Vietnamese places I've ever been too. Phó did not seem to be prepared with any aromatics and lacked flavor. Decent portion but for $17 you expect to be blown away. No bread for sandwiches. Fried egg rolls did not have the standard black fungus mushroom that is typically in Vietnamese egg rolls, no flavor whatsoever. Also, it's as if potato was used an extender. Pickled veggies had no flavor/no daikon, served with romaine instead of green leaf. Nuoc Cham was watered down with no garlic/chilis. It was terrible. Spring rolls were equally bad. The springs rolls from Trader Joe's is better and those are vegetarian and made in advance. Last thing we got was the bun or vermicelli noodles. Also no flavor. Pork was not marinated. Pickled veggies were not pickled at all. Overall- their counter with sauces, it's like no one replenishes it. No chili oil or sauce. Drink area/Counter was filthy. P Fountain drinks are $4 each but their machine doesn't work except for sweetened ice tea and lemonade. C Food turnaround was so slow. About 20 min to get appetizers. So disappointing. read more

Fresh bread for bahn mi is like heaven. The owners clearly know their bread! Oftentimes it's stale or just too hard (think Lee's sandwich, roof-cutting hard). Restrooms (2) were clean and well-stocked. They have a bit of decorating to do for their back wall (tons of chairs/tables stacked) but overall the place looks really nice. The menu items were many. From rolls, to bowls (soup and vermicelli), and to sandwiches. We opted for #1 special w/ pate and #3 bbq pork. We also ordered the shrimp bún (vermicelli rice noodle bowl). Note: You do have to ask for a water cup and be careful of getting sparkling water vs plain water. Also side note: the Vietnamese coffee is 90% ice so if that's your jam, please enjoy. Service was quick and they brought your meal out along with a cute basket with utensils and napkins. We really liked the #1 special. A nice balance of meat, veggie, sweet & salty ratio. The #3 bbq pork was a bit sweet and the diced cucumbers kept falling out of the sandwich. All in all, my new favorite spot for fresh bahn mi! The Bahn Mi sandwiches here are amazing! They make their own bread in house and it shows. We tried the vegetarian, bbq and pork meatball sandwiches. We also tried the fried egg rolls, orange Thai tea and green Thai tea. A huge group walked in right before us so the food came out one at a time and we had to wait for a table to be cleaned, but it was well worth it. We all loved our food and drinks. The food was all extremely fresh, clean and delicious. We come up this way a few times a year and now plan to make this our every time stop when in the area.
