Nice clean restaurant and restroom with fresh ingredients made daily every hour. Hot weather in Redlands area here. Next to good hotel and menu items are fairly priced for this location. May be a bit too spicy for some people but we love their delicious goat curry. Rice is cooked perfectly and paired well with the spinach dish. I ordered food from the restaurant next door and while I was waiting for my pickup order. This is another restaurant I had saved on my bookmarks. They had buffet with quite a nice selection of different Curries with samosa's with nice looking pilaf rice. Only $14 for 3 items. They had a nice menu with plenty of Vegan and vegetarian options. I got a 3 item combo: goat curry, chicken (breast) tiki masala, aloo gobi, and it's in that order from like to dislike. I haven't had Indian food for a minute and thought I'd give this place a try, the goat had a good flavor, meat is good just a bit chewy by the tendon (might need to cut with a knife). The worker there said the butter chicken wasn't part of the item selection on display but basically the same as Tiki masala flavor but with dark meat. I also dipped my garlic naan in the tiki masala which made it even better. The fried veggies and samosa was just ok. I also got a mango lassy which is like a smoothly almost. Very good stuff overall. The service was great and clean, the worker used a glove after touching the cash register to handle your food which I appreciated. They were polite and when you asked them questions since you haven't been to another Indian restaurant in so long, they were patient and kind. Thank you! This newly opened cafe is a welcome addition to a slowly but ever growing town. It's more deli style where you can do an item combo and pick items from already prepared and warm foods out front. Alternatively, you can order items made to order as well. So my fiance and I did a bit of both. For the 2 Item combo, we opted for aloo gobi and chicken curry. Full of flavor and not too bad for what you pay for, though still a little pricier than expected. Lamb kebab came with a whole lot of rice but yep, this was nice and tender. I think their made to order items are arguably the better option here. They were kind enough to give us naan for free, I think there was an extra order made on accident. The naan was nice and garlicky, fluffy, and just right. So all in all, this is a decent spot for grab and go, or call ahead of time and grab and go. Either works great. read more

This is my new favorite location to get some amazing Indian food! They have both quick serve options and a large menu of food made to order. The naan is some of the most delicious naan I have ever had, and they give such a large portion - plenty to have for the entire meal! The quick serve food is not spicy, unless otherwise noted, but they do offer chili if you need to spice it up. Their tea and lassi are both delicious! Some of our favorites include the lamb curry, chicken tikka masala, and their spicy chicken. They have amazing prices for the amount of food you receive and the service is extremely friendly. They have a decent amount of indoor seating should you choose to dine in. If you are looking for delicious Indian food nearby then definitely make a trip to Namaste India Cafe! Coming in, it's a nice and clean restaurant. The ambiance is very cozy. The seating is comfortable. They also have a t v, which is a plus the service was good. Redlands has some truly (if not surprisingly) fine eateries, but since it's still a town more than a city we are unfortunately lacking proper representation from several cuisines: Mexican, Italian, and Indian. There's the very popular NAAN CAFE at the Albertsons on the South side, but I fear it's popular because it has no local competition. We tried it twice and it was simply too bland and Americanized. I celebrate that locals want to support this type of cuisine, and so if you're seeking an upgrade -- -- try NAMASTE, located at the former PIZZA SHACK and where the old RUI'S SHANGHAI BISTRO used to be on Lugonia. NAMASTE is informal like NAAN, but the food is fresher, more authentically spiced -- but not so authentic you need the Redlands Fire Department to hose down your mouth. You have a choice of ordering from the vast menu, that includes a ton of vegetarian options by the way -- OR -- being quickly served portions from various hot plates. What makes NAMASTE superior to any Indian place I've tried are all the little touches. They offer white rice but take the yellow seasoned rice with little bits and bobs of flavorful items. The naan isn't ordinary but big, thin and fresh. I typically hit the stewed lamb (mild spice), the classic Indian spinach dish, and the butter chicken. But there's at least six other choices from the hot plates including ample veggie items. That's three portions for $14. but if you eat half of it with the naan you get a second meal the next day. This is good for workers in that area that could swing by and pick up an inexpensive lunch to split, creating the $7 lunch! I've been several times at this point and I've always avoided the tandoori chicken -- because -- at any Indian buffet it can run dark and dry on the hot plates. The very friendly owner Dev offered to make some 'fresh' -- which I thought wasn't even possible. I thought tandoori was slow cooked in a smoky oven, but it's actually a crazy hot oven that smokes/cooks it fast. What eventually came out was ambrosia. This is a complete game changer and now this is the only way I'll have what turned out to be the best tandoori chicken of my life, no contest. To grasp this profound moment: imagine loving frozen supermarket pizza your entire life only to be introduced to fresh pizza. (Yelp reviewers eyeballing this MUST show up with a chicken loving friend and try this. But be warned the spices will stain your fingertips for a bit, lol.) I am a very critical critic and the only complaint I've had is the decor, which for lunch is clean, comfortable and serviceable but at night no longer cozy under the bright lights. I appreciate that lunch driven spots can feel a little generic at night, but in time maybe some hanging lights and carefully chosen prints on the walls might make an early evening visit pleasant too. I used to hit RAISING CAINS before shopping at ALDI (which prevents me from buying sugary crap) but I must confess NAMASTE has stolen that business and WOW is this little spot a glorious gift to Redlands. UPDATE -- I've nudged friends towards this spot and they all come back to me the way I left NAMASTE the first time: RAVING! read more

The environment was bright and open like a cafe vibe, ordered the 3 combo meal and a 1 combo meal with a side of raita and a mango lassi. Prices were cheap, I got the tandoori chicken chicken Tikka masala and palak paneer. Service was good, combos came with garlic naan and rice everything came in small bowls on a plate so I dumped out my rice and chicken tikka on the plate. The spinach was a 2/5 wasn't very thick but not watery the Tikka masala had some very dry pieces of chicken but was sitting under a heat lamp buffet style. The naan was good some really crunchy parts but they gave a generous amount. The tikka masala sauce was good but have still had better and he forgot to give us our mango lassi but didn't charge for it. 5/10 overall score!
