Wow! I was so excited to try a new (to me) Middle Eastern restaurant! I met up with friends…read morerecently on a Wednesday night at Layalina Restaurant & Lounge. It was very quiet on a Wednesday night, so we had a lot of chances to get to know the restaurant owner. He was so friendly and welcoming! What a great guy! I recommended that he contact Yelp to set up a Yelp Elite event there sometime. They definitely have the space. When you walk in, there is an area for smoking hookahs. The hookahs did not have much of an odor (not like cigarette smoke), so it didn't impede on our dining experience. The atmosphere is basically a large banquet hall with a stage. The owner advised they do lots of events there, especially on the weekends. They also have a huge patio. The food! Wow! What huge, generous portions! We were all thrilled with our orders. The hummus is so creamy and delicious. They have a large menu, with photos to help you make your choices. Everything was plated beautifully and tasted amazing. I can't wait to go back and try some of their fish dishes. I was told they get fresh fish on a regular basis.

Can I give this place more than five stars?? Because they deserve it…read more This is an order-at-the-counter kind of place. The gentleman working noticed us studying the menu and was extremely helpful, even offering a few sample bites before we decided. We ended up getting a chicken wrap, a falafel wrap, hummus and baklava. Hands down, the falafel was my favorite. I asked for the orange hot sauce on the side and it was fantastic. Definitely spicy though so be careful if that isn't your thing. The falafel was flavorful and moist. The wrap came with lettuce, tomato, pickle, cucumber and sauce inside a tortilla, then grilled. Absolutely perfect. Fresh and delicious. My partner's chicken was also great. Fewer vegetables than on the falafel wrap. The chicken meat was super juicy and perfectly seasoned. Both meals came with a soup that was a nice addition. But people... hear me out.... The baklava. SO. FREAKING GOOD. Perfectly flaky and the right amount of sweetness. We added it on as an impulse buy while we paid and it ended up being the star of the show. I sincerely can't wait to go back. Thank you for a great meal!

Welcome to my internal struggle as this place has been on my "gotta try" list forever and thanks to my youngest daughter's valentines date request I said enough and we came. Greeted with a clean space friendly faces and walls of accolades for the food, particularly the falafel. Daughter wanted to try the falafel as did I so we ordered the Alien fries with falafel and the chicken shawarma plate, food all came quickly and smelled amazing. We dove right into the fries and the falafel and we both loved it, so flavorful and delicious and the sauce drizzled on those seasoned fries so so good. My daughter went into the chicken and rice with the garlic sauce and was loving it, needless to say I crushed the assignment and we had a wonderful date together. Excited to come back with other members of the family

I do have a couple of critiques but it's still 5-stars and I'll still keep going back. - Something seems to have changed with the Iraqi Salad from the first time we had it... it's still good, but it was BETTER the first time, and I can't quite place what changed. - They do not have tap water. They say their water isn't good. They sell 16.9oz bottled water from Fry's or Walmart or wherever they get it that day for $1. This is not priced on the menu, which is a problem. And, if the water isn't good, are they also using bottled water for the rice, the coffee, and other cooking? This is just strange to me and not great. - Speaking of the rice, I do wish there were more options for sides with the meals. The rice is good, but sometimes I want something else, and there isn't any other choice. - The robot servers are weird... not the worst, but this is the only place I've ever been that has them, and they still want a full tip despite using these. - Service overall isn't the most attentive. Not horrible, but again, see above. Like I said though, we'll keep going back!

Their food portions are amazing!! I always leave with alittle left over! Definitely worth the money! Super convenient location! I think it's so cool they use the robots sometimes to deliver food or drinks. Their juices are so delicious! I try to get new ones each time I visit. Highly recommend any! My favorite dish is their chicken kebabs or beef kebabs! Their sides are just as delicious ! They usually come with rice and veggies! They do have handicap parking and yes there is plenty of parking!

I came to Shawarmania in Glendale because of the excellent reviews and photos online, but my…read moreexperience was extremely disappointing. The food I received looked nothing like the pictures being advertised. Instead of fresh, juicy shawarma sliced from the spit, most of the meat appeared to be burnt scraps and overcooked pieces. The chicken and lamb were extremely dry, lacked flavor, and tasted like they had been sitting for a long time rather than being freshly carved. Moreover, the portions were extremely small for the price we paid. The fries were ok- the fries they came with the wrap seemed freshly fried while the fries on the plate weren't crispy at all. The vegetables seem fresh but just fell off the fork as you tried to pick it up. For the price of $23 for the plate, it was an extremely underwhelming and disappointing plate of food. As for the wrap, it was just as bad. As you go to pick it up, everything from the meat and lettuce just fell out because they were chopped so small. For a restaurant that markets itself as serving authentic, high-quality shawarma, this was far below expectations. I understand that photos can sometimes differ from reality, but the difference here was significant. Based on the reviews, I expected fresh, flavorful shawarma. What I got was a tray of dry meat scraps with very little resemblance to the advertised product. After eating at more than a dozen different restaurants in the past year that serves shawarma and kabobs, this was the most disappointing one. I hope management takes a closer look at food quality and consistency because this experience did not live up to the reputation reflected in the reviews.

Well there was a big debate going on between the 35th avenue and Union hills location and the 59th avenue and Greenway location so I already know I really like the Union hills locale so I figured I'd go down on the 59th avenue and Greenway and do a little comparison. I was very pleased with the pizza as far as the cracker crust New York style quality and the amount of toppings on the pizza. I find both places very compatible as far as taste and price and I know that the 59th and Greenway location has a water menu then I definitely want to get into it future visits so for now I guess we call it a tie and a good place for some great pizza on 59th and greenway.

Ordered delivery the staff failed to give the driver the whole order. Ordered pizza and 20 wings. No wings arrived after already tipping online 8 bucks and total bill near $50 to have to get in my car to go pick them up. Come back home to a luke warm pizza now too and 30 plus min old wings. Couple young gals gigly and talking about topics outside of work rather than focusing on the job of serving their employers customers. No apologies , no customer service skills . I dont expect a red carpet rolled out but man basic human courtesy in todays world is non existent. Next order was about 2 months ago. I ordered a large cheese pizza to go . Arrived within the 25 mins quoted that the pizza would be ready. Ordered at 1 hr till closing 8pm. Arrived and mentioned my order number. Register gal looked around no pizza. Went to the kitchen pick ticket printer. The kitchen staff never bothered to look and didn't make my order. So no apologies , nothing said front gal got them making the pizza . I just shook my head and sat down. Incompetence on top of being outright rude and not saying sorry there was confusion we'll get that right out to you. After 18 mins they managed to get it made and i regret tipping them at the register. Didn't look at the pizza. Got home and was disgusted to see there was a wet sloppy mess from the center radiating out about 3 inches. NO Crust . Was watery , cold wet lumps of cheese , sauce and likely dishwater from a wet pan, pizza peel or who knows. It almost like it was placed on a dishwater laden pan to be cut. For $22 for a stinking cheese pizza that is only 16" Its a rip off and I will never return to this location. Near $30 with a tip for nearly inedible pizza. Im temporarily disabled and have no income.. A good friend gave me some money to get something goid I enjoy. I used to love this place and the last 3 times this location has just gone downhill and completely untrustworthy now.
