All the food was delicious according the kids. We had these fried pillow puff breadsticks bites that were so good. Burgers were both very tasty and more than enough to eat. This was our first visit to Salvino's. They have a dining side and a bar side. The bar side had plenty of TVs for watching the games and was a nice clean setup. My son ordered boneless wings and I got Sal's big burger. They were both very good. The service was solid. The restaurant was clean and orderly. The TVs are nice for watching games. It's a basic pub restaurant. I've been here twice in two weeks and all of the help staff has been incredibly friendly and nice. The service at the bar is very quick. The meatballs were perfectly cooked. They looked beautiful. The sauce on the meatballs could have more flavor, it tasted like basic tomato paste. But the meatballs themselves were soft and had good flavor. I came back to this place because the wings were so good. I had the wings both times I was there. I often times criticize restaurants who serve tiny wings. But, These wings from Salvino's were good meaty wings. And now for the bad ... The nachos were a significant letdown! We paid for the chicken nachos in regrettably only found two or three tiny chopped pieces of chicken. We were all frustrated by the massive lettuce and onion salad that they put on top of the nachos. In fact, there was more salad on our nachos then there were chips. We had to ask our waitress to bring us two extra sides of cheese dip because the nachos did not have any significant cheese on them. In my hierarchy of nachos from a scale of 1-10. These nachos are definitely a scale one very poor nachos! Otherwise, we watched multiple plates come out for other people with beautifully decorated pizzas. I think this place could be a very big winner in terms of a pub. Salads with slimy lettuce in them! DISCUSTING However when I showed our waitress the lettuce was not only wilted, but also too old to serve...it didn't go well. Have you ever bought a salad that had slimy lettuce in it? Ew, it's disgusting to bite into clammy, slimy, decaying lettuce...and the taste in your mouth doesn't go away!!! Waitress went to the back to let them know. (I thought I could eat the fruit on top, while waiting... When our bills came, I was charged full price! Wow! We skip the dining room, and eat in the bar. My favorite is the lasagna, (request a garlic knot) with it. The regular pizza is good too, and the minestrone is homemade and delicious! Monday night is currently a pasta special, and Tuesday the special is a wet burrito that is the best I've had. The staff is always great--a hard working bunch! The TVs in the sports bar area are older projection-type and invariably too loud. We try to avoid big game nights for that reason. There is a lot to like here. read more

The waitress I had Lauren N wasn't good only check on us 2 twice and then she gave herself a 10.00 tip on my card. Warning this resturant will protect their employees more and blame it on you she wrote over the zeros tip I left her and added 1 to make it look like I left her 10.00 when I didn't the total remained the same no change on the receipt. I explain that to their manager she still didn't believe me. This is a warning people check your receipt and bank accounts making sure you are charge right. Just went to Salvinos in Plainwell with friends when we got our bill we noticed a charge listed as additional administration fee. When we inquired about the charge the waitress informed us that it is for their cost of doing business and that there was a sign on the entrance door. As we were leaving we seen the note on the door which explained that they are now charging a 3% fee to cover the fact that food costs have went up etc. and to cover their expense of doing business. I was taken aback because every business has a cost of doing business and expenses when you own a business I thought by paying for my food that I ordered off the menu was what covers their expense of doing business. Dined there for the first time last night. Our meals were very good, the waitress was very good. Enjoyed ourselves. Why the down rating? When we got the bill, there was an upcharge included with a brief blurb about the rising cost of everything! This shocked me, as there was no advance warning that our meal was going to be more expensive than what the menu said. As we left, I asked the gal at the front about it and she said she didn't know about it and referred me to their web site! Well, here I am and I don't see anything, tho I may be just missing it. But what the hell? This is really bad--if you're going to charge more for the meal, just raise your menu price and be upfront about it. You're being deceptive and, I don't know, maybe unlawful here. If you're going to add to my bill, at least post something at the table or add it to your menu and inform your staff what it's all about. Guess I should have asked for the manager but we were late for something else. It wasn't the amount, it was the principle of it! While visiting last night, I happened to experience quite a fall coming up their "Handicap", ramp, there was a ridge though it was highlighted.It wasn't expected to be that big. Poorly accessible. Many workers saw what happened 1 or 2 even held a door and not a one acknowledged It, asked if I was okay, or checked on me during my visit. If you are in or around Plainwell, MI I would definitely recommend checking this place out! It is sort of like an Italian sports bar but with really good food! They are always busy. Michigan crafts beers on tap. Great service! We started off with some bruschetta and spinach artichoke dip and both were great. Bruschetta was a little garlicky so if you like garlic you should be good. If I had to say one thing that could be fixed I would have to point out the menu's, the writing was coming off a couple we had and had to borrow someone else's to read it. The ambiance was good, modern. The music was very nice and up to date. The entrees exceeded exceptions. My biggest complaint was the service felt very rushed for not being busy. The bruschetta appetizer shouldn't be served as an appetizer, it was overpriced for the cheap bread that was very tough to chew. If I had to choose between a tire and the bread for the bruschetta, I would choose the tire. Other than the negatives, this is definitely a recommended place compared to all the other restaurants in the area. This is definitely one of the best. read more

I had the yummy lasagna (which I would give 4 stars), my husband had the beef & bean wet burrito which he said was good (not worth 5 stars, but good), and our son had the stuffed pizza with pepperoni and Italian sausage which he said was great and he said it's worth 4.5 stars. The wings and pasta were nice and came out hot. The three Valentine's specials were ok. The steak was over cooked on all three plates and the potatoes slightly cold. As well as the shrimp. Steak had no flavor, and the garlic bread was off putting. Other than that the salads were good as well as the soup. We didn't let the staff know because at that point we had a 40 minute wait before we sat down and then waited another 30 mins and we were all hungry and ready to go. I have been here twice and had a pleasant experience both times. There's a bar side and a dining side and we have sat in the dining area both times. There are lots of screens playing various sports, and it's a little strange still to see NFL games with no fans, but welcome to 2020. Anyway, I highly recommend the calamari and pizza dunkers for appetizers. The calamari has both varieties of pieces, and the breading is delicious and crispy. The pizza dunkers (get them garlic parmesan, I promise) come with house made marinara and nacho cheese. I prefer the marinara, but it's nice to have options. We have had pasta both times, all delicious. The ravioli is great, but I think our favorite is the chicken Parmesan. The breading is perfectly seasoned and crunchy, goes really well with the homemade sauce. Portion sizes will leave you full! I also tried a couple of the martinis, there are several delicious flavors. We will come back again and again. read more

Mushrooms and sausage ok but the meatballs were a little mushy. The sandwich itself was large but unfortunately I didn't like it that much to want to try and eat the whole thing. Needed a wee bit more Italian flavor if you ask me.. My wife ordered the lasagna at the recommendation of our server. She enjoyed the taste and flavor and would have it again. Salvinos is an Italian themed sports bar and grill brought to you by the owners of Uccelos in Wayland. There are different dine in and a sports bar sections. We sat in the sports bar section. It was a touch louder than your average sports bar and it was only about half full. Meh. I gave it 3 stars as it is my wife and I's first time there. The breadsticks were amazing and would definitely have them again. The pizza (the salvino pizza) was just O.K. The toppings were good, the sausage a bit too spicy, the sauce was weak in flavor, and a little watery causing all our toppings to fall off. Defiantly a fork and knife pizza. The menu was extensive with lots of variety so hopefully the next time we're there I will have better things to say. We would go again to try something different and I'll write another review then about my thoughts. read more

We showed up with a family of 5 later on a Friday night, on the home stretch of a 9 day family vacation. Mr. and I, along with kids 8, 6, and 3. They quickly found us a spot on the bar side of the place. Our servers were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating to the odd requests from the kids. We had the house dip = amazing. Mr. had the buffalo wings and thought they were pretty good. I tried the chicken tortilla soup and loved it - really cheesy with just a bit of spice. We shared the chicken Marsala, although after the appetizer and soup I was pretty much full. The few bites I managed to eat were quite good and definitely homemade. I'll be eating the rest for lunch tomorrow. Happily, karaoke starts at 9pm on Friday, and we caught the first few songs. Kids loved the "dance party" and it bought us a few extra minutes to finish our very reasonably priced local craft beers.
