This was AWFUL! I had delivery. We ordered a BYO 14 in pizza, thin, with pepperoni, onions and olives. It was under cooked, and bland. The fries pickles were edible, but over priced. The worst of all of it were the chicken tender and fries. The "tenders" were anything but. The tenders should have been labeled "jerky" as they were very thin and dried out. The fries, cold and wimpy. Of all the places I've ordered in the recent past, this place was by far the worst. I will never order, or eat in at this place again! read more

We stopped in after a day at the antique fair. It was a welcome relief to walk into the AC building and sit at a very clean bar. Andrew was our bartender he was super friendly and efficient. It's obvious that this place has a "regulars crowd" all nice folks too. Definitely will go back to try more food items. read more

My husband and I went in to Order a pizza and do dine in they weren't busy so we sat down while waiting for 10 minutes for someone to come take our order we noticed workers sitting and staring at their phones and finally one of them that seen us walk in got off their phone to come wait on us and we placed our order and the waitress made a rude remark to the cook about us ordering a pizza that's on their menu like we inconvenienced the cook by ordering that particular pizza. We seen the same waitresses make another couple that came in wait for awhile to place their order as well. The pizza was ok not very many toppings and the service was horrible. Then I waited while others ate ALL of their meal and still waited 10 minutes before mine came out, still absolutely no concern from Keegan. Horrible service. I have been here a few times during this pandemic. This seems to be a popular local spot. The food is pretty good here. I usually get the calzones, which I would highly recommend. It comes with up to 5 toppings for $9.99, and it's big enough to easily have two servings. They also have a good selection for alcohol. I used to eat at Joe's Pizza all the time when Joe owned it. When came here to eat the place was gone. 10 years I missed Joe's Pizza. Today I happened to be driving through and saw it on the main drag in town. He had sold the place and relocated it. I finally got to have a pizza here. It may not be exactly how Joe used to make it, but it is still a damn good pizza. Not very many places make pizza with parmigiana cheese on it. This place does, yummy. The fried mushrooms are delicious as well. And they have jalapeño ranch dipping sauce. If they offer extra sauce for dipping, ask them to warm it up for 45 seconds or you'll have really cold sauce. Now the staff, oh my god they are so very friendly. If you have never been here , give them a shot. They have a bar inside, one thing Joe never had. read more

I've eaten the pizza here many times. The consistency was always an issue. I can say the last few times has been great but I feel like they are getting really skimpy with the toppings. Ordered a large pepperoni and bacon pizza and the whole pizza maybe had 10 pepperoni on it. Also ordered a deluxe pizza. You would expect at least every bite to have at least one of the five toppings on it but way too much of it was just cheese. read more

Cheap drinks and greasy food, a perfect place to wrap up the night. The pizza is good, but they really know what they are doing with the appetizers - pizza puffs, breadsticks and cheese balls are all great hangover preventers/curers. I walked in to pick up my to go order around 5:15pm. There was one table occupied in the whole restaurant and explicit music was blasting. I went to the counter and saw 5 employees right there. Two sitting on their phones and three talking loudly about spring break experiences. I smiled when I made eye contact with a few of them... after about two min of none of them addressing me I finally said hello? I'm here to pick up an order... none of them look up. I was at Joe's Pizza in Plainwell, MI on July 19, 2021, visiting from Des Moines, IA. The experience could not have been any better. I requested a dark beer, was offered tastes of two, chose Perrin Black which was new to me and I loved. I ordered a veggie calzone and it was the best calzone I've ever had. Our waiter stated that he wasn't busy and would make it himself- he did a fantastic job! All nice fresh ingredients and stuffed full. He was Anthony and I can't speak highly enough of him. I made an online pickup order fir a pickle pizza. I checked the pickle and ranch box NOT the bacon box. When I got home the pizza had bacon on it. I'm a vegetarian. When I called they told me that's just the way it comes. I'm suppose to make a note of no bacon. I double checked on their online order site and there is no box to make notes. We were only in town for a couple days for the festival, but we ate here twice. We had taco pizza one night which was very good and received free cheese bread with our order( great deal the cheese bread is huge), we also ordered takeout for lunch we had the pizza sub, and club wrap which both were exactly what we were expecting great lunch. The reason I'm giving this 5 stars is for the server who had two tables of kids who didn't have enough money to cover their bill and left a pile of change sitting on the table for her to count out. Excellent, personable, and helpful service. Great hometown bar. My grandmother from Sicily couldn't make sauce this irresistibly sweet. The dough was rolled by the gods, the calzones crafted by angels, and the subs toasted by artists. The bartenders are really just Greek Adonis's who pour drinks on their free time. This is good pie! Inexpensive prices to boot. Me likey. I travel a lot, and as a pizza super-freak, I try many different pizzas all over the country. While this wasn't the best I ever had, it was pretty tasty. Not the most modern interior I have seen, and definitely has a local feel to it, but these are good things. You can definitely have both, but this is more of a casual hang out where you can find plenty of locals on any night of the week. Enjoy New York style pizza, ridiculously cheap beers and drinks, several TVs, a jukebox, some arcade games, charismatic bartenders, and even some outdoor seating at this small town hangout. Have given Joe's several opportunities to win me over, in the last three years. At best, they've broke even a couple of times. I flat refuse to get take out from them at this point, because they don't much care what goes on the pizzas. I'd kind of like it if they cared as much as I did, since... I'M PAYING THEM TO DO SO. "How about if I just take a minute, and pick the meat off your wife's half?" was the final straw for me getting take out there, when the half sausage / half cheese pizza was made incorrectly. Dining in..... Always seems to be combat sports on TV. At least we've never gotten the wrong pizza when we dine in. Makes you wonder how they can get it right when you're sitting there, but not when you call it in.... Décor is really dark and dated, with the ghosts of a thousand sad old chain smokers, and faded beer signage as ambience in the bar half of the place. Slightly better if you get a booth by the front window NOT in the bar half of the place. Slightly. Service hit and miss. inattentive to average. If they weren't selling big, barely adequate pizzas for not much $$$, I'd not have gone more than once. Third time this year they have messed up my to be delivered order. Tonight was last straw. I ordered no mayo and burger was slathered in mayo. Manager tried telling me if I check a box it means I don't want it. Not true. 3 out of the 4 boxes are marked. Mayo is not and I did not check which means I didn't want. This was my first time here and in Plainwell in general as we are from the Detroit area and we were looking for a place to eat and watch the Red Wings playoff game. It was busy and we grabbed the only table that was left. I ordered the Firehouse classic burger. It was spicy as advertised topped with salsa. Messy and delicious.
