I went there to get lunch and had heard from others that they had a very good selection of different kinds of food and drinks on their menu. I was not disappointed at all! Quite the opposite actually. The food was delicious and came quickly. The restaurant was very clean and the service was great! They had lots of parking space so no problem trying to find a place to park either. They offered lots of choices where to sit. I chose the dining room. My server was absolutely great! He was very helpful with menu choices and the daily specials as well. He also checked frequently to see if I needed anything. I would definitely recommend this place for a great meal and fun time to enjoy with friends. The prices were as much as expected to pay pretty much anywhere currently. Won't be back here for awhile. Sat down at a table as it is seat yourself for trivia...after almost 10 minutes of no staff coming to the table a manager felt it appropriate to seat a family at the table I have been sitting, walked away and left this family and myself very uncomfortable and confused. Manager and at least 3 wait staff noticed me sitting at the table without acknowledgment in any way. Worst service imaginable, do not recommend. (Review was written pre-COVID) My boyfriend's family always has a Christmas party at this location of Main Street Pub each year. We take over their private room in the back and usually have quite a large group. Last year we had a smaller (but still rowdy) group! We had a few designated servers and they were all great, keeping track of multiple open tabs for different family members and making sure glasses were refilled, everyone had their food, etc. The menu at Main Street Pub is pretty large and varied with lots of sandwiches, wraps, flatbreads, salads, entrees, and appetizers. We usually do a pick three appetizer platter. This time we got it with cheese curds, mushrooms, and pretzel bites. They were all good and basic bar fare - deep fried and hot. I ordered the wet burrito for my dinner and my boyfriend got one of the wraps. The burrito was not quite what I was hoping for - the tortilla was a little dry inside but there was plenty of sauce and cheese on the outside. I was hoping for one of the thinner stretchier tortillas like you find at typical tex-mex places. I wouldn't get the burrito again but I've had other menu items that are good like the ranch fritter wrap. Me and my boyfriend came here for some food and drink. Got a cougar wrap and Mac and cheese and both were delicious! Diamond was our waitress and she was great! Very personable and on top of it! Didn't let our drinks get empty and made sure we were taken care of. Touch tunes is also nice get to play the music we want. read more

7/18/19 This is a perfect little dive bar. Oh wait, it's not a dive bar and it's a franchise restaurant in many locations. I am confused about this location. We were recommended this place by Google because we typed in darts near me and it picked Main Street. We decided to check it out. This location is set up weird. You walk in and there are several tables and you see a bar. We walked near the bar and saw that there was a whole other area, which had the darts. There was a small table near the darts, so we sat there. We reviewed the menu. Note the photo I included: Menu had typing errors. After 5 minutes, a server approached us for orders. We ordered our drinks and wings. The server kind of seemed annoyed with us when we asked a couple of questions about drinks. I was super excited though to see one of my favorite summer beers on draft. It was also on sale so win! Atmosphere: Very spaced out and feels like two different restaurants between the bar. Darts were nice but it felt weird to be directly next to two tables. One was occupied by another family, so we felt like we're in their way while we were playing the game. Cost: Average for bar food. We have known the owners of the Main St Pub for years-back when they only had 2 locations! The brothers do a really good job of making their establishment's family friendly but also a hang out place for the nighttime drinking crowd. This location is large; I think you can probably have a party here-catered and all that good stuff. The bar has a good selection and beer specials during the weekend, they have cider too! Their menu is extensive-normally places like this try to make a small menu so their food doesn't spoil during the week. They offer wraps, burgers, lots of fried foods, salads and your normal dinner entrees. The service was pretty good the night we went in, then again we knew the server. It was slow but he made sure we had everything we needed. There was another server who also made if a point to check on us every so often to make sure we were going well. They have darts, pool tables and one of those shuffle board games. The darts cost $1.25 a person per game. I did not get a chance to see how much the pool and shuffleboard games were. They also had games like duck hunt and the golf game...I don't know the name. The place is well kept and clean. The servers are obviously trained to be productive even when it is slow. My fiancé enjoyed it since there were multiple TV's showing all the basketball games. It is a great hang out bar-for sports etc. read more

Drinks are cheap, and pretty good, but you're going to need a few before you even think about eating here. They have 100 items on their menu (yes, I counted),and if you have ever seen an episode of kitchen nightmares, you know what that means... We went on wing night, and wings were sold out by 8pm, so our server suggested their "boneless wings". They were literal fried chicken cubes. 8 mini cubes of chicken served on a huge ass dinner plate that was crop dusted with whatever dried herbs they had left in the pantry. Mind you the seasoning was on the plate, but no where near the food. Any of it. The real atrocity was the sunrise burger. As soon as you cut into it, the kraken released its fury of water from the unseasoned burger patty. To be honest, I was excited about a burger that had hash browns on it, but unfortunately it was just a deep fried grease ball with soggy potatoes sprinkled throughout. Hell, they even made the bacon taste bad. TLDR: Never trust a place that has a $.50 taco special. read more

Subpar food. I've tried to like this place. They have a turkey special on Thursday that tastes like something from my old school cafeteria. Mind you, I don't hate cafeteria food but I don't want it at a restaurant that I pay good money for. The beef was old. Chicken is tough and nachos have all the toppings on two thirds of it. It's like the cook couldn't see the other side so no toppings were put there. The last straw for me was a piece of plastic in the nachos and it was not a small piece. How does that happen in nachos where it's all layered and you should be able to see everything you put on? The good note is the servers have always been very good. My wife and I came here looking to try a new place on our last night before moving away from Kalamazoo. That was a mistake... We were sat at a booth and a young waitress came and took our order. She was practically clueless about the menu. We asked simple questions like "what do people like here?" and "what do you recommend?", neither of which could she provide a reassuring answer for. I was contemplating between the chicken tender appetizer and the tender platter and she couldn't tell me how many tenders came with each one... Very uncertainly, I decided to do the "Pick 3" appetizer option as my main course. It was just before 9pm when we ordered and our food did not arrive until after 9:30. So we waited nearly 40 minutes and when it arrived I could not even hide how unimpressed I was. The meal placed in front of me did not match the description of what I ordered on the menu, lacking both fries and tortilla chips, which she only told me were not included as part of the "Pick 3" promotion after I received the food, despite being part of the menu item's description. I'm not sure my meal was worth even half of what I would have been charged. My wife's burger and fries was just as unimpressive. It resembled the portion size of a kid's meal and looked unappetizing. I kindly and immediately expressed that the meal delivered was far below my expectations. With hardly a glimpse of sympathy, our waitress didn't have much to offer in the way of resolutions. Trying to make it as simple as possible, I asked that my meal be exchanged for the platter instead. Fries and some extra sides for $1 more was the biggest difference. She unempathetically took my plate back to the kitchen. It would have been nice if I could have at least started eating the chicken that I had with my wife but instead my wife and I waited other 7-8 minutes then decided this is not the experience we wanted to have for our last dinner in the city. So we went up to the manager to explain that we were going to leave and why. She was not rude, but not very empathetic either. Despite waiting in plain site at the front for a bit then proceeding to make our way to her through the restaurant, making eye contact along the way, she extended no effort to meet us in the middle. After finally making our way to her, our waitress also decided it was a good time to come over so we didn't really feel comfortable explaining that the quality of service was our biggest complaint... We ended up going next door to Los Amigos instead, where we already had several great experiences, and had a great ending to our night over there. read more

Ok, bias observed... I've been eating here on and off for 20 years now! This place is a staple in my life, like a family member welcoming me back home again. So much to do; shoot pool, shuffle board, more TVs than you can watch. But the nachos are what always bring me back. This time we found another new favorite the tots deep fried balls of goodness! I've been here many times and it's usually good food and service, not today! Went in for lunch and was NOT busy. My Pepsi had no syrup, asked for new one that never came. Ordered lunch specials but was charged for the dinner special(pointed it out to the waitress and she said, "it came up at dinner price". I'm sorry we were there, seated and ordered before 2:30p.m. We never received refills even on the water, waitress was slow(busy taking care of her boyfriend), needs more training that's for sure! I always have good food and service here. The servers are always super nice and very friendly to my toddler. (I love that kids eat free haha!!) My go to is always going to be one of their wraps or flat breads. They have a full bar so you can get whatever drink you are in the mood for too. There was a fruit fly in my drink. This was the 2nd drink. The 1st I was brought just carbonated water used to chill the glass. The waitress was new! Mistakes happen but the fly is disgusting & the wings needed to be cooked 2x longer. The deluxe wedges were REALLY good though. Should lower the prices for quality. I come to Main Street occasionally and am always happy with what I order - this time was no different. In fact I was surprised to see a new item on the menu which was a bbq pork mac & cheese sandwich! It was made with 2 buttery pieces of thick sourdough bread, with a pile of bbq pulled pork and a pile of mac & cheese in between the slices. It was so delicious, and it was the perfect meal for a snowy winter day. Our party of three arrived for an early Saturday lunch, and we sat in the bar area which was not busy, despite the UM football game being televised. Service was quick for ordering and throughout the meal- up until the point that we wanted to cash out, it took a little longer than desired to flag down our server to get our check, but this was a good visit! read more

I can still recall when Main St. Pub was just one pub on West Main St. Yes, I'm that old. I used to love going to Main St. for the darts... darts was big back then... and we'd have a pint or twelve. It was always fun and the service was great. I don't remember at that age if I ever had any food. Unless you count Guinness as a meal, in which case I had several meals on any given Friday or Sat. night. I moved away from Kzoo for several years and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was another MSP in town. Same great service. Love the olive burger. The wings are very good. Had the perch, the steak, the club sandwich, and the pot roast (on different days), and they were all very good. The restrooms are always pretty clean, which to me is important. Don't get me wrong, I don't need an emasculate powder room, but I do need soap, hot water, towels, and toilet paper if necessary. Some bars have restrooms more akin to outhouses. They have a very fine waitstaff. I'd recommend MSP to anyone. (Did I really go off on a toilet paper rant?) Main St. Pub Gull Rd. is excellent. read more

Heard it was really good did and service. My first time there with 3 Friends on Thursday June 6th early evening for drinks and dinner. I ordered a drink that I was unfamiliar with however the flavors that it was supposed to represent, couldn't go wrong so I thought. The ingredients/ flavors in the drink just wasn't there after taking a few sips. It was supposed to be made correctly and then served over ice. No ice at all a mixed drink served in a red wine glass that didn't represent all the ingredients that were supposed to be in there. Asked the waitress about having the drink remade. She even stated to me that the drink looked off in color. She takes the drink with her and says "ok" comes back and says that the Manager said he can make one but says that I have to pay for that one that wasntand that had been there many times. And considering that she had taken the glass away from the table The waitress Shelby P sends "a manager " over to talk to me. Who started to talk at me and even accused me of cussing at him and the waitress. I looked at him and then at my friends and looked back at him. No where in our conversation did I use any foul language. Needless to say I was very unhappy with the service I received.
