I personally enjoyed the previous menu better than the current options but Burdicks was also a staple in my college years so I may be biased. I prefer the old space. That said, if you want to be blinded by tv screens in every direction you look then this is the place for you! We were a large party on a Saturday night, so our drink service was a bit slow though I think staff were doing their best to keep us all in order and served. It was a pretty busy place. Definitely not my first time at Burdick's, but sadly, my last. I struggle to anything positive to say about any of my visits here since the remodel. Ridiculously large, bright, seizure-inducing screens that relentlessly flash in your face. I could tolerate it if there was something interesting on them, but 2 screens with different sports talk (3 talking heads on mute) and the third a golf channel that I swear was nothing but boner pill commercials. I have to shield my eyes from these screens that the staff apparently have zero control over. I asked. But enough of the oppressive, uncomfortable atmosphere, let's get to why I'm really here - the food. Really in the mood for pizza? Hope you have room for a 20" NY style because that the only option. The wings are pretty decent, but not worth the price. How about something simple like potato skins? Do you like them bone dry and completely lacking in any flavor or even saltiness? Yes, they are topped with cheese and bacon but I still needed salt to make them taste like anything. I was offered a box for my leftovers which I declined but it would have been tastier I'm sure. So cool, it's a sports bar - great place for a cold beer, right? Well, with like 30 tap handles there's surely something to enjoy. Yup - if you want to choose between 23 light lagers, a couple of ciders, an old keg of brown ale and maybe 1 wheat beer - from Sam Adams. There are more actual choices at an airport bar. They have menus - if you ask. One out of the last 5 visits I've been given a napkin and utensils before my food arrives. I could go on but I already kinda have. The name is still....regrettable. However today's experience elevates this place to a 5 star review. JC, I think his name is, was loitering at the host stand, which is nowhere near the front door, but when I said our group of of 7 needed access for my brother in law who insists he is not disabled but has rather severe rheumatoid arthritis and I know this is a run on sentence, the waiter JC didn't need me to elaborate he got an assistant and set up an accessible group table with plenty of maneuvering room. Didn't make a production of it, he was subtle, efficient, and respectful. I'm not a big fan of the new open space esthetically but the great view of the two bowl games on the big screens made me a convert. The Caesar's side salad was good, the Sriracha dry rub wings were excellent. JC did interrupt the joke I was telling to bring something but the rest of our party found this to be further good service. He didn't ma'am our two middle aged ladies instead generously calling them, miss. He was prompt, respectful, so I'll easily forgive the annoying "have a nice rest of your day," instead of "thank you" or "good afternoon." Aesthetically, we loved the open concept design, larger bar with additional seating and where they moved it was definitely a need! Bowling to the right with 2 additional private rooms for intimate gatherings! We were able to get in right away however service took a bit to get to us, but holding no fault there this time! The pull apart cheese bread was divine and just the right temp to get the perfect taste! Entrees were the Mushroom Smash burger and the Western Smash burger! While both burgers were tasty, the mushrooms could have been a bit more flavorful or maybe even a little more caramelized! The pickled jalapeños were non existent to my flavor palette, just wished there was more! A must add would be some type of Spicy Chicken sandwich, I'm always looking for some good mouth watering heat! In the finish, our server was non existent and took some type to check out! Very underwhelming experience. It was a Saturday night, it was busy and the food was very mediocre. For the price, I was expecting things to be better than average. This was not what we received. I confirmed that Chicken tenders were housemade, I was told they were, and if this was true, they were the worst housemade tenders I've ever had. The fries were sold as Garlic-parmesan fries and were average at best, didn't even care to finish them they were so underwhelming. So while visually and aesthetically this place has improved, the food quality has actually gone done, while the prices have increased quite a bit. Old Burdick's Bar & Grill had it going on! They are a sports bar with ton of offerings located adjacent to the Radisson Hotel. Here since 1991! The menu has something on it for everyone! Menu - Shareables, Wings, Entrees, Handcrafted Burgers, Handhelds, South of the Border, Sides, Salads, Soups and Desserts Did I say Shareables? And oh did we share! We were almost running out of room at our large table for the platters. We ordered wings, fried pickles, tater tots, fries, chips and dip....Everything was delicious! The appetizer was good ( just an onion dip ) I tried 3 of the cocktails on the menu, 2 of which I thought were pretty good. But the main course. Yikes. First time here since renovation and I was on fence because they've gone more upscale, as have prices. The pizza is like $30! Which its a big pizza but slices are huge, hard to eat but my issue wasnt that. It was the fact that CANNED mushrooms are nasty and I cant believe an upscale place with these prices uses them. Immediately turned off by this. Then the pizza is so floppy, you cant even get it into your mouth without folding it. Highly disappointed for my first time going back. Pros: good food & great waiter Cons: steep prices & very loud even when in the dining room (away from the bar) I ordered the chicken ranch salad. $17 for a salad was a bit expensive, and the portion was not commensurate with that price tag. One egg and a split breast. I wasn't terribly hungry so I was somewhat satisfied with the portion, but I was still disappointed for the price and didn't leave "full". However, that's the extent of anything positive in this review. $100 for two sandwiches, a beer and cocktail and a basket of potato chips and dip is robbery. The kitchen ran out of the only vegetarian dish they were offering for restaurant week and didn't tell us until 30 minutes after ordering. Updating my long standing review because they told me in july of 2024 that i would have to pay a $3 surcharge because of covid in order to get takeout. They even have a paper at the hostess stand that says the fee is because of the pandemic of 2020. They are literally charging extra money if you eat your food at home. We've been to Burdick's many times over the years. 15 years ago the menu left much to be desired. About 6 or 7 years ago we were impressed with the menu update and put the bar/grille back into our rotation. This week we brought our kids back for a celebration dinner. The food was good, no one had any complaints about that. The menu, however, has clearly been simplified (which I get) and reduced to inexpensive ingredient options (again, fine). So why did we end up with a $150 bill for 2 burgers, 2 kids meals, a burrito bowl, beef tacos and an appetizer? Of course, I ask this a bit tongue-in-cheek. It's usually the add-ons that add-up and I should know better. I had a glass of wine, husband had a beer and the kids all got soda. That was probably $40 right there. Look, the food was tasty and I appreciate that. The Here's my break down: -South west egg rolls were well prepared and reasonably flavorful with a standard but tasty southwest ranch. 7/10 -Beef tacos were OK- good, not great. The chips were cold and dry- thinkI've had better from the grocery store. Interestingly, I ordered the sour cream and guacamole, which actually overwhelmed whatever flavor was there. I like visiting this place whenever I want to watch an sports game with friends. They have good beer options as well as mixed drinks, and also good appetizers to have along with your drinks. One of my favorites are the truffle fries, which come with parmesan cheese and truffle oil... simply delicious. Depending on your server, some times it takes a while to get a refill, but most of the time are on top of you. Place can get crowded depending on who is playing... this last time we were watching Wolverines vs ND and place was packed. We were in the middle of the place and from any seat you could actually watch the game, as they have TV sets all around this place... I ordered dinner from here tonight I'm new in town and went bye but the yelp page said on how good it is, I order broccoli chicken Alfredo , I go and pick it up I was early so I had to wait for a couple minutes no big deal. I stay in the apartment building right across the street literally a two minute walk to my apartment I open up the food and I see microwaved cheese over the pasta and broccoli. It looks terrible and taste even worse the pasta is so rubber and hard that you can't even eat some of it. The fish and chips is my absolute favorite. Although expensive for purchase to the restaurant true FNC should be cod only. I'm being picky but yours still melts my steely-where's-the-cod-Irish . I am pretty sure she's racist because she was cHeerful talking to the other tables next to us.. and I realized why... Not only she's racist and rude, she got so much attitude taking our orders and bringing food as well. If you don't want people other than white Americans coming in your restaurant, then that's your problem. It's a big restaurant and people of any race and color are gonna come in. When we asked her to see if we can switch sth out because we can't eat, she said- well, I don't know and rolled her eyes and said she will ask the kitchen! So disrespectful! Yesterday, i went with friends for the restaurant week menu. The server was grumpy the moment we arrived. The service was very poor! And we had unpleasant experience. We reserved our table at 4 pm and the place wasn't crowded, almost empty. We did not feel comfortable. We ordered mango lemonade, chicken cone (with mild sauce instead of hot sauce), waffle burger (cut in half with no bacon), beef sandwich (cut in half with no jalapeños) and fries with no seasoning. We had our food come and go back for 4 times. My husband cant eat hot and spicy food so all our orders were requested with no spicy additions, but We received chicken cone with spicy sauce. We thought it might be the chicken but it wasn't. When other orders arrived at our table, 1st the beef sandwich came full with jalapeños, the fries was fully seasoned and non of the sandwiches were cut in half. We asked her politely to take it back and replace the Frise, when the plate came again it was messy and the dipping was spilled out as if it has fallen down and there was jalapeños inside the sandwich. We asked her to remake the sandwich bcz it is dangerous for my husband to eat spicy food. She was more grumpy than befor and started to put the water and juice glasses on nervous way. Then the Manger came back with our dishes. We we requested our bills, it was thrown at the table instead of handing it to my husband. I will not come back again and wast my money although it was one of my favorite restaurant because I did not liked how I was treated in this restaurant!!
