We've been going to the location for many years. Recently however, forgive me for being confused by their Billboard. Picture attached. My 92 yo friend and I stopped in, misinterpreting the sign? Additionally - for over a year the $5 Cocktails are POSTED on the tables. However, after checking the server explains the billboard advertising. Was I really that Daft? You tell me. We decided to hv lunch, I ordered the $5 Mucho Cocktail. I received my bill with a $7.99 charge for the $5 cocktail so by this time I'm so discouraged by the place I truly felt like screaming. My Friend and I decided to dine at this Applebee's for the first time AND Unfortunately it'll be the LAST time I go there. Dingy Forlorn and I got REALLY Sick six hours later from the Parmesan Chicken, Garlic Green Beans or Garlic Potatoes. Food Poisoning is painful and Horrible to deal with. John the MGR was supposed to contact me and hasn't yet. Another friend found a Fly in the salad there Last Week. Health Inspector hasn't been there since last June. I would give negative stars if I could. We had sat 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. I had to go up to the hostess and tell her no one has come by not even for a drink order. I ordered a side Caesar salad. I got a house salad. Had them take it back. Ordered the 8oz sirloin well done it came out medium. The manager came out and apologized. What a joke! read more

Our server was horrible, took the card without giving us the bill, kept forgetting simple things like ranch,plates and FOOD ?!?!? Food tasted great. Food was the correct temperature. Waitress was friendly, efficient and attentive.

Took a little longer than expected to get a waitress to help us but once we did the service was great food came out super fast and hot. Restaurant is not as busy as I thought it would be with the kids special on Tuesdays. Glad we came here instead of our regular Applebees location down the highway. read more

Just stopped in at 10pm on a a Friday night. Now I know what I am about to write may not be popular, but here's the deal. Literally the whole front row of parking spaces is reserved for take out parking, which is certainly their right to do. With a relatively full parking lot, we parked in one of them and we're met at the hostess station and told we had to move our car... again well within the business' right to do. So we did, in fact, move our car... right down the street to another place that didn't have assigned parking. They've obviously made a decision to prioritize their take out/delivery service business. This is the burger I received thru Door Dash from Applebee's in Plainwell, MI. When called to complain about a raw burger the woman who answered the phone at first said they could take off the price of the burger or make a new one. I have been coming to this location for the past year and gotta tell you the service, the food, the beer and bartenders are always serving 1/2 off apps and cold beer. Its nice they put the game on the speakers so you are really able to tune into the game while drinking/eating! read more

Good deals on gift cards for the holidays! The Good: -We were greeted upon entering Applebee's and seated right away. -Our server was polite and brought refills without being asked. -Lots of available parking spots, easy access to highway 131 and local shopping! The Needs Improvement: -Were were taken to our booth only to find crumbs and spilled milk on the seats. We had to ask to have them cleaned (hostess says that the seats are usually forgotten). Menu was sticky and had dried food smudged on the front. It appears that the restaurant is lacking in the cleanliness department. -Communication between servers and the kitchen: our server wasn't aware that sweet potato fries were not available until right before our food was delivered. -Food presentation: salad and tacos looked sloppy with splattered sauce on the taco plate. Someone was clearly in a hurry with plating food. Overall: A solid 3 stars. read more

Don't go here. I've read so many bad reviews about this place but figured we'd check it out. BIG MISTAKE. We got drinks to go, all four were disgusting. Bloody Mary was way off. Tasted sweet or like the mix was rotten. Not sure which one but I couldn't drink it to save my life. Other three drinks were poorly made, wasn't an even amount of ingredients in any of the drinks. Just one ingredient that was overpowering (coconut). Definitely won't be going here again. Waste of $30. Don't even waste your time here. read more

I really love this location great food and people. I live in the area and like that they are so close.

My wife and I tend to go here every two months or so, and each time we have hopes that this time it will be good, at least warm, and each time those hopes are dashed. We tend to get steak, which is rarely if ever cooked right (Medium well), sides are typically cold or even chilly in the case of potatoes. Tonight was the last time we return; service is always great but the food is lackluster. Tonight I had a whiskey bacon burger, the burger had no sauce on it, the patty was undercooked, and the burger itself had no flavor My wife had a shrimp n parmesan steak, her potatoes were again cold, her steak was nowhere near medium well, and her green beans weren't even cooked through. We started the night with a "neighborhood nacho" appetizer, which had very little meat on it, toppings were sparse, and it generally looked like nachos and cheese rather than nachos with toppings. At least it was warm? All in all, don't come to applebees for food, come for drinks with friends because the food will cause conversation, but only conversation on how you should have gone to McDonalds instead. read more

Never been to this particular Applebee's, but I've never been to an Applebee's I've ever liked so I'll hit this one with a dinger while I'm out Yelping. Applebee's is the basic faux bar and grill you seem to find near every express way off ramp. The food is most likely preplated and frozen for a reheated, exact portionized, mediocre experience. If I were you I'd save yourself some time and cash by hitting any nearby liquor store, grabbing a 24oz brew, and eating your freshly served, always tasty, Plainwell Burger King in the parking lot. Much better than Applebee's, regardless of location. This review was done during the excessive Michigan Stay Home Executive Order. This was our first experience here since we moved to town. We showed up around 7 on a Friday for dinner. Service was a little slow, especially since the restaurant wasn't full. We waited 40 minutes for our meals. Chicken tenders and fries, and the 4 cheese macaroni with chicken strips and a side of fries. The fries for both of us were cold, and tasted horrible. My wife's chicken tenders were dry, and cold as well. For my pasta, the noodles ranged from cold to like warm..... the sauce was runny and the lip of my plate was filthy. This place has really gone downhill over the years. I went in yesterday with two of my kids. They brought our food out to us in shifts with several minutes in between. The server needs to coordinate with the kitchen and runners better. The place was not even half full, so it's not like they can say they were busy. What I think was the front of the house manager wound up bringing us much of our food. Now, the food was really a disappointment. They are over seasoning everything to make up for low-end products. Cass is one of the best waitresses, I always ask for her when I come in because of her bubbly personality. She always has drinks refilled quickly and lets us know if something is running behind or if it will be out soon. read more

Great place to eat, fair prices, satisfying options. Never had a bad server there. P.s, one suggestion: I'd recommend being somewhat more conservative with the salt on your pretzel sticks. Had lunch here with coworkers just before the holidays. We were very quickly seated and our server was very prompt. Our food was tasty and all what you'd expect at any Applebee's. Staff is overworked, uncaring, and insincere. Booths were dirty, tables left with dishes, servers having loud personal conversations by the bar, food overcooked and cold, way over-priced for what you get. The manager was non-existent. This is a simple lack of caring by the employees, which is a direct reflection on the type of employee being hired, the culture of the restaurant, and the competence of the managers. There is almost no experience at a restaurant worse than the 2 times I went to Applebees in Plainwell. That's right, I went twice. I gave it another chance because the first time was SO over-the-top bad I wanted to see if it was a fluke. It was not. The smart thing to do is to close down, fire everyone, clean thoroughly, send in new management to re-hire the worthy, and get rid of the uncaring and lazy. read more
