I contacted SDR Service as I accidentally deleted some files off an SSD. I was initially told that…read morerecovery was not possible but then told to send it in and they might be able to get some of the data. I sent it in. I was then contacted by a different representative where we went through the same conversation to which they said they would do a "more invasive scan of the drive" to recover any data. They then proceeded to tell me it would be $1200 for the data they recovered. I cannot afford this as I am a single person business and told them to send the drive back. They asked what I could afford and accepted $500 for the data recovery. This part was great. At least I was able to get some data recovered. However, the drive that they sent back no longer boots ups. I STILL HAD DATA ON THAT DRIVE THAT WAS NOT DELETED THAT I NEED !!!!! I can no longer access any of my other business files that were not affected by my earlier mistake. I have attempted to contact them twice now over the last two weeks and they will not email or call me back despite speaking with a representative that says they will. Since they recovered some of the data I asked for that is great but since they have decided to not answer why I can no longer access the rest of my data they get a this review. Be prepared for them to ransom your files back to you as they would not state a price when I contacted them initially and I hope you can back up everything else on your drives before sending it as you can expect them to nuke the drive they send.

Whenever my data recovery was complete, the company sent me the list of files on ANOTHER CUSTOMERS hard drive. This is obviously breaking the contracts confidentiality clause, but even worse, they are leaking very sensitive information about their customers. When I tried to bring this up with a manager, they tried to play it off like it wasn't a big deal because they only sent me file names, and not file contents. After that, they simply ignored the issue altogether and did nothing to try to fix the situation. Even though WeRecoverData tried to claim that leaking filenames is not a big deal, the data they sent me contained the following information about the other customer: First and last name of the customer. Where the customer lives. The first and last name of the customer's wife. The names of all of the customers 3 children. The name and location of the school and universities the 3 children attend. The name and location of the place of employment of the customer. The customer's personal, and work email. The customer's search history dating back to 2007 (Including some very graphic websites...) The hard drive also contained tax returns for the entire family, which, had they also sent file contents, would have had their social security numbers, and possibly bank routing and account numbers. This is a disgusting misuse of personal data. Not only did WeRecoverData break the confidentiality clause of their contract, but they are disrespecting the the privacy of the entire family. This company's carelessness and negligence puts their customers at risk for identity theft.  This gives me zero confidence that they didn't also send my personal data to someone else, nor that they haven't had an incident like this in the past with other customers. Hard drives contain all of the most sensitive data on your computer, and when it comes to hard drive recovery, choosing WeRecoverData means you are putting all of your data at risk of being leaked.

I submitted an online ticket and dropped off my laptop. I heard no update all weekend or on Monday, so I called on Tuesday morning when they opened at 10 a.m., stating I would be picking up my laptop and looking at other places to get an estimate. SURE ENOUGH someone had picked up my laptop right after I left a voicemail stating I was unsatisfied with the timeframe, received no updates on my laptop, and was taking my business elsewhere. I was charged $50 for someone to "look at it" when I didn't want the service anymore. I had to pay the $50 to get the laptop, and I called THREE different numbers multiple times to stop the process, but that was clearly ignored.  This business is no good for UT students who need their laptops fixed quickly, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. They were going to charge me $300 for service and replacement. In comparison, I went down the street to 1Up Repairs and was quoted $170.  Overall, I am frustrated with receiving no updates, finally getting in contact with someone after the service I did not want was completed, and the service charge of $50 that was not known unless you scroll to the very bottom of the website and then it states it in very small letters. They scam people out of $50 and try to say, "It says it on the website and every time we call." Well, I never received a call back from the 15 calls and voicemails I left until the inspection was completed, so I never got to hear that they would charge me $50 for an inspection.
