Meatballs best ever, homemade from owner, the drinks are delicious. Service is always great the gentleman who seats you, is always helpful The restaurant is open and lots of room. They don't seat you on top of people read more

Starting with the food... my wife and I shared a wood-fired Nona pizza, loaded with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and prosciutto di Parma with a unique sesame-seed crust, and a rich and yummy lasagne. Salute was incredibly flexible as our plans changed from one night to another, before changing times, and having one of our party bow out at the last minute. read more

Wow ....this restaurant was by far one of my favorites when visiting Stowe. Side note do not schedule a reservation on Yelp. You must call and give them at least two days advance or they will be booked up especially on the weekends. My party was lucky and was taken due to a cancellation. We are so happy we were bc all entrees were spectacular. The Salmon was good to perfection with a crispy skin. The risotto was unbelievable. The baked lasagna was heaven on a plate. The rigatoni vodka was my personal favorite. Lastly, the chicken carbonara was great and no peas!!!! Service was out of this world from the host to the waiter. Once again this is a 5 star restaurant worth every wait to eat at! Reservations are highly recommended. read more

Don't order the veal. The chef doesn't understand it must be pounded before cooking. Service was good and bread was also good Other dishes were OK. read more

The food was good, service excellent..pricey. I got a ragu that was pretty decent and the martini was good

Recommend getting a reservation but luckily they were able to get us in. Cozy setup. Loved the beams in the restaurant that helped open up the space. The pasta and bread was fantastic and has a great flavor. The garlic and shallot pizza was good as well. read more

Call ahead! We got lucky with our reservation. We had a resy for 8p but were seated at 7p since the table was still open. They have a lot to choose from. We had the fall salad with spinach, popa special pizza and pesto linguine. We were too stuffed for salad but the maple blondie sounded good! The restaurant was louder than expected. They have a bar where you can catch a game. They have a few booths and tables for a more romantic setting if you wish. It was too cold but their patio was cute too. I would add chicken to the pasta. Also chili flakes to the pizza. Cute little spot! read more

This was the second time we have eaten here while vacationing in Stowe. The first time (3 years ago) not a single complaint. This time both my husband and myself ordered the Frutti Di Mare (he with pomodoro sauce and me with garlic sauce) they both came out like soup, so much to the point that the sauce didn't stick to the sauce, plenty of seafood which was good but for both the soup (sauce) lacked flavor. The service was excellent as was the ambiance. I am also not a fan of being asked if you would like the "special" Asiago bread and not mentioning that there is an up charge for it. Not sure if I would go back. read more

Decent food and service, too pricey for what was served. Lots of pasta and minimal ingredients. You don't know unless you try.

This spot came highly recommended all around and for our first visit to the area we knew we had to try it. We made reservations ahead of time and upon arrival it doesn't look like much but once you get to the entrance you are instantly charmed. It's unassuming old time charm hits the nail on the head for the area and ambiance. Service was consistently friendly and attentive although I do wish it had been a little warmer inside. As for the food we ordered the Fig & Prosciutto pesto crostini, ribeye and chicken Marsala. Both were equally tasty well sized portions. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Salute and would definitely recommend and return. read more

Salute offers creative Italian fare for a high but not outrageous price. But our visit on a Sunday evening was disappointing. The wait staff was terrific- friendly, welcoming and attentive. The shortcoming is in the kitchen. Both our appetizer of eggplant rollatini and chicken saltimbocca came to the table cooked but not hot. One entree came to the table 5 minutes before the rest arrived. The kitchen is pushing out too many orders and therefore rushing out food which is not thoroughly heated or left standing before arriving at the table. read more

Called the day of and the mgr called. A-few hours later. Got us in The carbonara and meatballs were fantastic My wife got the scampi excellent The wine was great At one point i asked for a particular red. The mgr brought me his new fav. And it was excellent Highly recommend read more

While the food is decent, and service was good, consistency is lacking. Owners treat employees horribly according to the ones we spoke with... cleanliness could be improved. With so many local restaurants save your money - go to Harrison's or Trattoria la Festa... want good pizza go to Piecasso! read more

Had an excellent meal and service last night. My husband had the chicken Marsala and I had the shrimp scampi. We brought our grandbaby and they were so nice and accommodating. read more

Food is solid, service was excellent. The bread was nothing special and not memorable. The Caesar salad was above average and always like fresh made croutons. The chicken saltimbocca was ok, missing flavor and a pop. The bolognese was solid and recommend with an addition of cheese but you'r call. Overall enjoyed our time but not as high as the other reviews. Probably personal preference. Great ambience. read more

I've been visiting this place every year for over a decade. About 6 years ago the name was changed from Juniors to Salute. Same owner. It continues to operate at an intersection of "Salute...where everybody knows your name" And quality restaurant with reserve wine options. My shrimp fra diavalo and my wife's rigatoni bolognese both earned 5 stars for authentic Italian dishes. The reason for the lower than expected rating was the host/greeter/phone contact/waiter guy. Yes, he appeared to handle a lot of roles effectively, but he was TOO EFFICIENT. Swinging by our table frequently correctly seeing if he could do anything more for us. The problem was the effect was to make us feel we were being "pushed out" I still highly recommend this place John N. NJ read more

I would give this restaurant 20 stars if I could!! It is phenomenal!! Mason was so fabulous and accommodating for my family. We were a table of 11 people and haven't seen each other in 2 years. We are tough New Yorkers that have eaten all over the world. Drinks: We had 4 kids in varying ages that ordered Shirley temples. My son said he wanted 17 cherries and Chase, our waiter was SO amazing and gave him 17 cherries. My cousin spilled her entire drink. 3 people came over to clean it up and Chase came back and gave her a full drink in a SIPPY cup! lol amazing! Service: Chase was SO accommodating and AMAZING! He went above and beyond to make my family happy!! We barely finished a drink and he asked if we needed another one!! This is how you do it!! Apps: We ordered a bunch of apps, Caesar salad, stuffed mushrooms, beet salad, eggplant rollatini, fried mozzarella, clams, garlic bread and all of it was super delicious!!! The eggplant was so creamy and their tomato sauce tastes like nonna made it. Omg the bucatini special with truffles was out of this world!! It was garlicky, buttery, and filled with truffles! The bucatini was homemade and cooked perfectly!! I wanted to lick the plate!! Entrees: My husband I had the veal saltimbocca with broccolini. The sauce was so rich with a good hint of salt from the prosciutto. The broccolini was garlicky and cooked perfectly. I tried the rigatoni with bolognese! It was cooked to perfection and had the perfect sweetness from the basil. Our table was quiet and plates were licked clean! Dessert: We ended the meal with coffees, gelatos, cannolis, and tiramisu. Everything was fresh and delicious! The tiramisu was so airy and creamy! It had the perfect amount of coffee flavor. Hands down the best restaurant in Stowe and phenomenal service!! We can't wait to come back!! read more

Loved the food - really disappointed with the service. The host/server couldn't have been more condescending. He was unapologetically rude and ignored our table even though it wasn't busy at all. Would go back only if he wasn't our server. Really not sure how he is allowed to continue to work there. read more

One of our favorites. Stuffed mushrooms, fresh caesar salad, vodka rigatoni (homemade pasta) doesn't matter what you order you won't be disappointed. Nice wine selection. We called around 2pm for a same day reservation and got one. The food and service was TO DIE FOR! Such a gem. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and could be cut with butter knife. The rigatoni bolognese was absolutely scrumptious. We ended our meal with the Tiramisu and French press coffee. Divine! read more

My husband and I sat at the bar and had great service and a delicious dinner. (Thanks Steve and Lexee) He is gluten-free, were unsure about going to an Italian style restaurant, but they were very accommodating, including having gluten-free pasta or substituting for a vegetable. He had the saltimbocca and I had eggplant parm and Brussels sprout. When we walked in, we got a friendly welcome from Mason, the host, which added to the overall outstanding experience! We will definitely be back to Salute! read more

Six weeks before we were supposed to have dinner at Cork, they cancelled our reservation. I was frantically looking for another option knowing that it was leaf season and a Friday night. I called Salute on a busy night a couple of weeks before, and the gentleman was so nice to get us in. We couldn't have had a better experience. Our server Jen, although very busy, was accommodating and lovely. This isn't really a 5-star Italian place per say, but it was 5-stars to us because of our experience. We had the Eggplant Rollatini, which was rich and wholesome. The Chicken Piccatta was light with a wonderful lemon and caper sauce. We also ordered the sauteed spinach because we are vegetable people and were dying for some greens, which are hard to get sometimes when traveling. It was perfectly cooked and a generous portion. Then, because we were leaving the next day to drive down Rt. 100 to Woodstock and didn't know about the food situation, we ordered a pizza (Nona pizza) to eat for lunch. What a good call that was! We just took it out of the cooler and plopped it on the dash for a bit and we had the best pizza ever! All fresh toppings and a great crust. We highly recommend Salute! read more

This is the best Italian cuisine for the greater Stowe area and beyond! Frank and Evelyn have taken the homemade preparation approach and have successfully served it up for the local and tourist community. I had Evelyn's homemade lasagna and it was just as if my Mom made it back in her kitchen! You will not be disappointed no matter what you order!!! The staff is efficient and congenial! Don't pass this one by...just 5-10 minutes from town. Make reservations as the dining areas fill up fast. read more

Great food, great atmosphere, and great company. What more can you ask for. Hubby and I were visiting Vermont and this place came recommended by our Airbnb host. They did not disappoint. Enjoyed a nice glass of resling with our tapenade and crostini as an appetizer. Hubs had the chicken parmigiana and I had the chicken Marsala. We enjoyed both with hubs having plenty of leftover for us to share the next day. We were so full from our dinner we didn't have room for dessert. Definitely recommend this place if you are visiting areas between Burlington and Stowe. read more

We came in for dinner and sat outside on the lovely covered patio looking out over the beautifully groomed garden. Despite the heatwave we have been having lately, the evenings cool down as early as around 5:30 pm so dining al fresco was no problem. We ordered chilled white wine, which complemented our dinner perfectly. The balsamic vinegar and olive oil for dipping the bread were high quality and thus, delicious. The vegetarian stuffed mushrooms that were swimming in vegetable broth were delicious. My shrimp fra diavolo was absolutely delicious, especially the sauce. The eggplant parmesan was accompanied by a thick and chunky tomato sauce with rigatoni al dente. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. Lovely dinner spot. read more

This is a fabulous restaurant for dinner. Great ambience, great menu and awesome food. I ordered the 24 oz prime rib and it was served to perfection. It was coated in a salt rub that was just awesome. My wife ordered the eggplant parm and it was served with pasta - overall a very generous serving. Even though we are traveling we had to take out our leftovers as they were that good. Friendly staff. Not inexpensive but very worth it. read more

This was such a beautiful place. The menu was fabulous and the waiter we had (I think his name was mason) really helped us! Great service and everything tasted amazing. The only thing that was not that great was the gelato (was in pre packaged containers and were frozen on the bottom) but everything else was great! Lovely ambiance, would definitely come back! read more

Got a spot at the bar on a busy night so was prepared for a wait. We waited what had to be an hour after ordering food to eating it, with no updates from the wait staff until I complained. Seemed like if you know the staff you're treated much better from interactions I observed. In a nicer Italian restaurant when they ask if you want Parmesan cheese they add it fresh. Here after they offered they pointed me to a shaker. Chicken Masala was bland. The taste of the sweet wine should be prominent. Added a star because the Shrimp Scampi was decent. Edit: adding a star. They offered free dessert at the end, which was pretty good read more

We made a reservation at 6 on a Saturday night and we're seated right away, the host was nice and the bussers were quick to give us water. We sat and waited for our server for 15+ minutes, longer than we are used to waiting. I believe there were only 2 servers on and 2 bartenders for the whole restaurant so we were patient but it didn't make our experience amazing. Drinks and food came out quickly and they were good but not amazing, the highlight for me was the Saratoga olive oil for the bread. Service could be better but I do understand restaurants are understaffed these days. read more

Great Italian restaurant in Stowe. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. Make reservations to guarantee your table.

My absolute FAVORITE restaurant of our 14 days in Vermont. Why? Service - Mason was attentive without being overbearing. Super funny. And ask him about any wine. I dare ya. He knows what is quality wine. Food - Authentic. I think what Evelyn and her husband are producing is top notch. Our table had Eggplant , veal and chicken parmesan. Plus a pizza order. So good! Dessert - separate category as some don't make it this far. Go for it! The cheesecake was light. Defiantly had the "homemade taste" with a gourmet, elegant simplicity. read more
