I am so glad that we tried this restaurant. Casual but classy Music in the background. Server , MASON, who handles many other positions was so attune to everything around him and when we were ready for next course. Not rushed at all Cute quirkly comments made it a fun experience. Food was excellent very authentic and fresh. Service was great from Steve our bartender. Classy little Italian restaurant. Wood fired bread was delicious, olive oil as well as balsamic vinaigrette was on point. We had the chicken piccata and it was cooked just right with angel hair pasta. I recently enjoyed an incredible meal with my family at Salute during a trip to Stowe. We started with the mozzarella triangles and garlic bread with cheese which we devoured. I had the chicken parm and my wife had the bolognese and both were excellent. The kids both liked their meals as well. We came for dinner tonight and felt like we hit the jackpot. We ended up sitting at the bar because it was just myself and my husband. Wanted to keep the table we reserved for someone else. The food and drinks were outstanding. Sal and Zach at the bar were top notch, from suggesting drinks, making them to our explicit specifications and then done. Service with a smile goes a long way. Beautiful restaurant. Pasta was excellent! Meatballs were very well made. Had a nice crust to to them and nice density. Veal saltimbocca was fantastic! Wine list pricey but very deep. Currently on meds so not drinking but a nice glass of red wine would have been perfect with dinner. Nice mini loaf of bread but there was no olive oil on the table- only balsamic - only learned after and waitress did bring olive oil and bread to try afterwards. Good service. Our whole family loved Salute!! Everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite dish was the spaghetti, pomodoro sauce, and meatballs. Of the two spaghetti and meatballs dishes we ordered, this one was smoother and more garlic flavored, which we liked. We took our family of 5 to Salute. It was a big crowd pleaser. The fried calamari with banana peppers and fried mozzarella are as good as anything out there. Kids enjoyed pastas and pizzas and we also had delicious chicken and clams casino. Our 10 yr old raved about the homemade Mac n cheese with mozzarella broiled on top. Mason is the best server! We were 11 people and the manager was so accommodating. Sat us timely and all at one table. The food was prepared excellent. Everyone was served timely. Food was nice and hot. The waiter was so attentive to everyone's needs and even anticipated the needs of us. Never had to ask for a refill. A clean fresh glass filled with the beverage was right there. As ski vacationers, we had the good fortune of stopping in Salute on a peak Saturday night just in case they could accommodate us. From the moment we walked in, we knew we hit the jackpot. We were lucky enough to land seats at the bar where our bartenders not only greeted us with smiles but made us feel that that they were happy we stopped in. Everything we tried was delicious--wine, cocktails, bread, salad, meals! The homemade basil-infused tagliatelle was amazing! I would not have tried it if my bartender had not suggested it, so I am grateful for that fabulous recommendation! Yum! We truly enjoyed our evening and want to give Kudos to the owners who we had the pleasure of meeting at the end of the night. If we lived closer, we would be regulars! My husband and I traveled in from TN and had a wonderful experience eating at Salute. He ordered a pizza while I ordered the chicken parmesan. My only complaint of my food was the noodles were either not cooked all the way, or cooked too long, as they were slightly touch. However, the sauce was homemade and had an amazing flavor and the chicken with melted cheese on top was so tender, juicy, and flavorful! We loved the bread and even more so the atmosphere. It was a stylish chic type decor with a fireplace burning and the most beautiful view looking out the window with 3 snow topped Christmas trees! When I posted the picture on FB I said it looked like a scene from a movie. While it wouldn't be at the top of our list to revisit when we return to Stowe, we certainly wouldn't be against going back. The service was great and we really enjoyed talking to our waiter as he was a local and telling us about some fun things to do around there. We had to struggle to find a restaurant which could give us a table to dine-in but we eventually found Salute. The interior was nice, staff was really friendly, and the service was quick. They have a great selection of wines too. We ordered garlic bread, veg pizza, and pesto pasta for main course and floor less cake and tiramisu for dessert. Garlic Bread was just amazing! Came with a really good fresh tomato sauce too. Next was wood fired veg pizza which was amazing too. Pesto Pasta was dry, lacked pesto sauce and had no salt and pepper. Floor less chocolate cake was bitter and tasted weird and tiramisu was just ok. All in all, I would rate the food as 3/5 but the service was just amazing! read more

We wanted to return this year while we were at the Trapp Family Lodge so I made a reservation expecting the same great experience. We were so pleasantly surprised by Salute and I see that it doesn't get great reviews so I wanted to weigh in. To begin, greeting and vibe from the host was fun and relaxed, and our server was attentive, knowledgable, patient (with my questions and gluten allergy), obviously well trained. Cocktails were inventive, well balanced, and included herbs from their garden. Food was delicious, and portions good. I had heard that it was expensive but honestly nothing in Stowe is cheap and I didn't find this restaurant to be priced inappropriately. I drove by it a million times and didn't think to stop in - tbh thought it would be elevated olive garden but really it was chef-y and nice without being fussy. read more

One of the best Italian restaurants we have been to. We were a party of 13 in our family and needed to find a good restaurant. Our hostess was extremely nice and had a table ready within 15-20 minutes. Food was great quality and everyone was so amiable.
