Came here for drinks. The place was nice but the bartender (who I think is the owner) was rude. Our DD asked for a bottle of water and almost got her head bit off. And they have no music playing because they want you to pay the jukebox. read more

If your in town do not go here, the bartender/owner is a horrible bartender and she only caters to locals, she had two shar pei dogs behind her bar, and when we ordered chili which was on the menu she says we're out so we asked about the beef stew and she says let me see what's left from yesterday. I asked if she had a certain beer and she says it's on the wall over there in a tone that wasn't pleasant. When she finally got us our drinks she continued to ignore us and only pay attention to the locals, place was dirty and cluttered. We felt the whole time she didn't want us there. Rude attitude and her dogs were not even friendly, she even said their not friendly at all and they will bit. Just don't waste your time or money going here, Not friendly, how can a bar be clean when you have two big dogs behind the bar eating, drinking and laying around. read more

The employee behind the bar did not acknowledge us, we asked about tables and were told "Yeah, if you want." Not welcoming at all. We looked upstairs- tables, no people. Best Brunch! A hidden gem, Burt's is a small local's bar filled with great people, food & staff. They serve Brunch on Sunday and everything we ordered was delicious! Janet does a phenomenal job in the kitchen. We ordered Huevos Rancheros , the challah French toast and the eggs Benedict. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. The Huevos Rancheros came with a homemade green sauce (chef is from Colombia) that is out of this world, my friend commented that the hollandaise sauce on her Benedict was the best she's ever had. You may have to wait a while for your food, but it's worth it. Prices on drinks and food are reasonable. Enjoy! read more

Not a local? They don't want your money. Stood inside for 7-10 minutes without a greeting or a can I get you something to drink. And at the time there were 5 of us. It seemed like the second we walked in the crickets came out and it just became silent. The bartender came out said I'll be back I'm working the grill and never popped back out. What a delightful and unexpected treat to stumble upon this Irish-Columbian jewel in Stowe, VT! This tiny hole-in-the-wall neighborhood watering hole is family owned and operated and the food is extraordinary. The menu is small, but everything on it is made from scratch with fresh ingredients. The empanadas - beef and potato stuffed masa with aji sauce - were like delicate pockets of steaming heaven - lightly crispy on the outside with a confident filling. The Colombian arinchini were the best we've ever had! Like the empanadas, these chicken and rice fritters w/sriracha aioli were made from scratch and to order. We sampled the albondiga "sliders" the BBQ ribs and the Rueben -everything was out of this world. When you pull into the parking lot in the back, don't let the unusual, unassuming entrance scare you off. Walk right in, find a seat at the bar and prepare for an experience you'll never forget. Love this place! Have stayed up at the Von Tropp Lodge a few times now, and stumbled upon this when driving down to the access road in Stowe. From the outside, it is very unassuming, but when you go in, the atmosphere is super friendly and there are a ton of great beers. They even have HeadyTopper sometimes! The lady behind the bar is very friendly, even participated in our trivial pursuit game. She made all kinds of delicious food as well. Highly recommended if you like dive-esque places with friendly crowds with a no frills atmosphere! read more

The owner Janet is hilarious and you can tell she has such a good relationship- I think everyone is a regular. That's just the service, Janet is also a great cook!
