I moved to Texas in '82 and only got back to Rochester a few years ago. I didn't realize Nino's was still in business till just recently. I stopped in there tonight and ordered an extra large Sicilian pie. Nino's son Jimmy is running it now. The place is a liite different inside but the pizza is as good as I remember...that marinara sauce is still the same, flavorful and slightly sweet, loaded with mozzarella and a very generous amount of fresh toppings, all at a very reasonable price. I've traveled the world since I've been gone, even to Italy, and I don't remember pizza better than this. I'm glad they are still around. If you're looking for a great Sicilian pie, look no farther then Nino's... Molto bene!

Louis was very helpful, explaining the menu and specials since it was my first visit. I decided to try the Detroit-style white top with Mike's honey drizzle and a pineapple Jarritos. While waiting, I sat on a few chairs outside in front of the garage. It took about 15 minutes, and my pizza was piping hot. My ricotta melted due to the steam, but it was still very good! The portion was generous, I could only finish one slice and took the rest to go. It's not a sit-down restaurant, it's perfect to take to-go; however, there is a table that you could stand and eat at, if you needed to. The decor was also nice and bright, with a unique twist with decor. Louis also mentioned they source most ingredients locally, which is noticeable in the freshness of every bite. He was kind enough to offer me a New York-style cheese slice, which was also delicious! While a little pricey, the quality justifies the price. I can't wait to return! If you're in the area, definitely check them out!

We got a WGR and Big Dodge Ram for pizza, and an order of 8 mild wings (extra crispy with a side of the wicked sauce since I love spicy food). The pizza was perfect. Great, crispy crust, flavorful sauce and toppings. And the wings?? Spectacular. Fried perfectly and both sauces were great. Mild Buffalo had a really good flavor, unlike some of the mild that are bland and boring. And the wicked had a great spice but good flavor, too. Service was super friendly and helpful for these newbies. We'll be back for sure. We definitely had leftovers so plan accordingly.

Then it moved next to a Tim Horton's in a gas station mini-mall in Irondeqoit next to the Expressway. There I had one of the lousiest eating experiences of my life. The new 'eatery' now consisted of three closely-bunched tables, one of which (ours) was under a blaring TV screen. The counter people were abrupt and cool. The food--a Friday Fish Fry, pizza and hot dog--took almost an hour to cook. What looked like a homeless stringy-haired elderly drug addict eating nothing sat at the next table staring at us throughout People constantly walked around us making orders or moving to the convenience store to the left. (There's no wall separating the two establishments). It was noisy, cramped, smelly, dirty, and slow, and the price tag for the--lousy, tough, third-rate--food was over $70. I was there with a friend, and when it finally arrived, we both agreed to take the food out rather than eat it there. I should not have made the great mistake of eating it at all, since the result was the Godawful stomach ache I still have today. Reader, don't trust the reviews from years past, when Mozzeroni's was a much better place The current hellhole should be shunned at all costs. I rate it at one only because Yelp won't let me rate it negative-ten. From Heaven, the late Mr. Mozzeroni is turning in his grave.
