The build your own pizza concept is awesome! You have the opportunity to watch them build it, and place it into their brick oven. The pizzas are DELICIOUS! My husband and I traveled down to Rochester for a comedy show, and tried Create A Pizza and it hit all the right spots! Thin crust, and delicious! My husband insisted that we couldn't leave, to travel back home for our 5hr travels - until Create A Pizza opened at 12pm, to grab a few pizzas for the road. Saw great reviews for this place, and decided to take my daughter recently. Walking in, this is a great little spot! We were immediately greeted by a man making pizzas, and despite being busy, he was immediately asking questions and explaining the process. We decided to share a half cheese, half cup and char with garlic butter sauce. I added some balsamic glaze and parm at the end - what he referred to as "finishers." I was super impressed with the politeness and the speediness of the process. The pizza was done in about 5 minutes. My daughter loved the skittles machine that spit out skittles at a rapid fire pace. They spilled everywhere. A lady working there gave her another quarter to get more. The food - this isn't one of those thick, doughy pizzas you usually get. It was very thin and packed very full of flavor. I loved it despite it not being super filling. I also ordered garlic bread because I'm a sucker for it. This would've hit 5 stars if the garlic bread wasn't nearly tasteless. This place overall is incredible, but the garlic bread could use some improving! I will definitely be back! A companion and I ordered two "regular" calzones: they were HUGE and totally FRESH. I can guarantee the latter, as I saw our pizzaiola put them in the oven as I walked through the door to pick them up. We had a nice chat as I waited for our order. They're also open late: something I'm shocked other pizzerias in the area (like Park Ave.'s [in]famous Chester Cab) should get on if they want to compete with "Create"! I came across this place while looking for somewhere to order a vegan calzone. They have three choices of vegan cheese, Follow Your Heart, ricotta and mozzarella. They also have a choice of vegan blue cheese or ranch for a dipping sauce. The vegetable ass ins are extensive. And the have vegan sausage, meatballs and pepperoni. Delivery was fast, and I appreciated the size of the pizza for the price especially compared to other places. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken pizza with extra shredded chicken. It tasted okay but the reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because it was very oily. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised about that because, well, it's pizza. I don't know if there would've been less oil if I hadn't added the extra shredded chicken. I'm new to the area, and just ate at Create a Pizza. Loved it! You can choose a personal sze, 12", or calzone, and load it up with as many sauces and toppings as you'd like. They make it for you as you watch, similar to how Subway does it. The service was wonderful-friendly staff with just the right amount of conversation as my pizza was being made. I wouldnt say it has the best ambiance for dining in, as it was pretty warm in there because of oven. There are only a few tables to sit, so it isn't geared toward a sit-in type of restaurant. The pizza was delicious and the ingredients were fresh. They also had cauliflower crust, which is gluten free, and lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Stopped in after finding online deal and had a great dinner. They have traditional crust in personal size and 12in as well as a 10in Cauliflower crust/Gluten free option. They have some suggested flavor combos and create you own options with no charge for unlimited veggies. We were quickly greeted with very friendly and helpful staff. They have some specials which this week included dill pickle pizza with pieces of dill pickle and garlic butter sauce which was tempting as I love pickles, but I went another route. I got a cauliflower/GF crust which was thin, may have been perfect if a little crispier on the bottom which I probably could've requested. I had hearty tomato sauce which had a nice flavor with fresh mozzarella, mushroom, caramelized onion, red onion, pineapple, jalapenos, fresh bazil and a bbq sauce drizzle. We fed our family of four for $28 (with a Groupon) including four pizzas and four 20-ounce drinks. For my pizza, I did 3/4 veggie and 1/4 Hawaiian on a 12" crust. Because there was no limit on the toppings, I loaded up the veggies including carrots, roasted red peppers, spinach, olives, onions, and green peppers on top of the hearty tomato sauce and provolone/mozzarella cheese mix. I tried the fresh mozzarella on the Hawaiian portion of the pizza and it was really good too. Each member of my family chose a different sauce and toppings for their personalized pizzas. Since I have once child who is fixated on pepperoni pizza only, it was nice that he could have his pepperoni while the rest of us explored other palate pleasers. We were vacationing in Rochester so I don't know if we will ever get to return to Create A Pizza. But if I was a local, I would be a regular. read more

Had pizza here last night after 10 pm...we were looking for a solid snack after laughing for almost a full two hours (and thus working up our appetites) over at Comedy at the Carlson watching Mike Young and Bob Saget. And Create A Pizza was a great choice! We picked it over other late-night-snack competition after reading an article in The City Newspaper. I was interested in the gluten free, veggie-heavy pizza, but my hubby wanted to try a traditional pizza with savory (aka MEAT) toppings. And since it was late and we had never eaten here before, we decided to just get one, so I acquiesced and we got their single 12 inch 'Meat Eater' pie with cup-and-char pepperoni (they have 2 kinds of pepperoni but cup-and-char is the stuff of childhood memories, and the only way to go), meatballs, sausage, cheese and the hearty tomato sauce base. It was perfection. From order to service was approximately 5 min - they were in the process of making several take away/pick up orders when we got there, but were able to make ours as soon as we settled on what to get. And it took maybe 2 min to cook. I was seriously surprised that it took longer to decide on which one we wanted than it did for them to assemble and cook the pie. The traditional crust is thin and flavorful - not cooked to a crunchy/stiff consistency, which means that the more toppings you pile on the better the chances that your slice will droop as you pick it up - but folding in half is still an effective way to eat. The 'Meat Eater' was one of their 'house creations' (of which there are a handful to try), but they have a huge variety of toppings for you to make your own. Including meat alternatives, the longest list of veggie options I have seen at a pizza joint (including roasted zucchini! broccoli! artichokes! among others), 6 or more different kinds of cheese, multiple sauce bases and additional toppings to put on top and/or drizzle (fresh basil! balsamic! etc). They do have a gluten-free cauliflower-based crust, but it is made with egg and cheese, so is not vegan; as yet no gluten free AND vegan crust options but the General Manager assured us they are working on it. That said, they only have one assembly area and one oven, so this is not a gluten-free shop - meaning there's a chance of cross contamination, which also probably means those with celiacs can't eat here. BUT the GM says she wants to be able to meet all the dietary requests thrown her way, so expect more to come from this great new addition to the Upper Monroe neighborhood. For now, we were impressed and we will be back. Next time I'll be getting that gluten free crust with garlic and oil base, parmesan cheese, zucchini, olives and artichokes...already dreaming about it!! read more

I only heard about it from a Living Social coupon I bought, and the only disappointment I had was that I didn't discover it sooner. Clean, and bright, something for everyone (even gluten free and vegans), with a trendy/hip vibe. The pizza was outstanding and super affordable. My partner and I wanted pizza while exploring the Rochester area for my potential move. We found this place based on other reviews on yelp and Google. It was absolutely amazing! It is a family owned and operated business which adds a welcoming charm of the establishment. Each person that came in seemed as though they were long life friends of the the owners. And each time someone left the owners said "Take it easy!" which to me, was very wholesome. I have a gluten sensitivity, so when I ordered the cauliflower crust, one of the owners asked if I had an allergy or sensitivity. She then told me that the meatballs on the supremes pizza have breadcrumbs in it and asked if I wanted a different meat or to simply forgo them. I appreciated the extra mile she went to ask me those questions to ensure I enjoyed the pizza. The pizza was absolutely delicious!! I ate my entire pizza and could have had half of another! The positives is that the service was quick, there were great topping options, vegan friendly choices, and that they offered both regular pepperoni and cup and char pepperoni. The negatives was that the pizza wasn't cut well and also so thin that it was almost impossible to pick up. I could eat the whole twelve inch pizza and still be hungry afterwards on an empty stomach. That was really disappointing. Just stopped into this new pizza place on Monroe Ave... Talked with a friendly pizza artist named Katelyn and she went right to work whipping up some awesome pizzas for us quickly. Toppings, construction and flavor were great and overall quality was high. My only complaint was that the top of the crust was nice and crispy, but the bottom was left soft and chewy. No big deal ... just for me personally I'll ask to crisp the bottom more on my next visit. They just Celebrated their one year anniversary and am happy to say we will return for a future meal. I've been eyeing this place for a little while now, as it's virtually next door to one of our favorite restaurants in town. Finally went in, and now I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. We stopped by outside of peak hours, so with the exception of someone who was just leaving, it was only us and the people working there (one of whom might have been the owner, but I'm not positive). Whoever they were, they were both extremely friendly and we had a nice chat while they cooked up the tastiest personal sized pie I've had so far. There are a couple of national franchises in the surrounding area that do the whole "custom pizza" business model, but having eaten at both those joints and this one, I'd put this local spot ahead of the chains. And I'm pretty sure these guys are actually less expensive, too. What's not to love about a better product, at a lower price, from a locally owned and operated restaurant? I say this because you can go to the grocery store and buy pizza dough and make it and home to your likely just the same as this place is offering to you expect at an expense price. So I don't recommend this unless you are going to go there to waste money on something is is done just as good as if you do it at home. Even the staff look incredibly annoyed when customers walk in and order food because there standing around time was interrupted.
