Nothing to complain about here. My wife and I tried it for lunch one day last week. The pizza is deep dish, Detroit style, you can buy whole pies, but they have several for sale by the slice. They had a garlic confit pizza, which was absolutely outstanding. We also split a Greek salad Which was large and fresh, and we couldn't finish. I will definitely eat here again. The service was wonderful. Our food was brought out to us and they even offered to pick up our plates when we finished eating. The dining area was comfy and had various seating options. The food was pretty good but for the price of the subs I wish they were a little bit bigger. The ciabatta bread was soft and fresh; but it wasn't big enough for the meat portion and you were left with a lot of saucy bread at the end. For the price I wish they gave you an additional cutlet on the sandwich. I really enjoyed the flavor of the sauce. Definitely a place to try again, but I do wish they gave you more in terms of portion size. read more

I agree with those reviewers who said that this nice establishment is a gem of a pizza place. I have been here once had a wonderful experience. I like me some good Detroit-style pizza and when I found out about this restaurant and their pizza by the slice offerings, I had to check it out. Located in a shopping center, this casual pizzeria is mostly a take-out joint but there is a small dine-in area. They serve pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. They also sell pizza and pasta sauces as well as house-made pasta to be cooked at home. I was interested in having their pizza by the slice, so that's what I ordered on my visit. I got one slice of their Meatball Parmesan with red sauce and one slice of Greek Chicken with basil pesto base. After ordering the food, I noticed a sign for lunch special that included a slice of pizza, a beverage of your choice, and a cookie which was good until 3 PM. I inquired about it (it was about 10 mins. after 3 PM) and the owner/ manager gentleman honored that deal for me. That was great of him. I really appreciated that. I forgot the gentleman's name, but it was good to chat with him about his pizza shop. The pizza was fresh and delicious. I was in pizza heaven with each bite of these pizza, especially while enjoying the Meatball Parmesan pizza. That was da bomb. The Greek Chicken was good too but I preferred the Meatball one better. I had some leftover of the Greek Chicken which I had later on with some pizza sauce later and it tasted great. I really liked The Pizza Shoppe a lot. I highly recommend checking it out. I was craving Utica greens yesterday, so imagine my surprise when I saw them on a local menu! The Pizza Shoppe has been on my radar as a new place to try for a while now. I've always been a fan of their sister location, The Pasta Shoppe. I ordered the Utica Greens, Gnocchi with Vodka Sauce (Homemade from The Pasta Shoppe) with a fresh meatball, and a side salad with house dressing. Everything was amazing! The greens were flavorful, spicy, and the fresh breadcrumbs were even still crisp when it got here. The Gnocchi were tender, with a delicious sauce, and the meatball was so good! Even the house dressing was amazing. Will definitely return for some pizza soon, and I'm looking forward to it! read more

The roasted mushroom pizza (which is Detroit-style pizza topped with tarragon garlic oil, roasted shiitake, portobello, andbaby button mushrooms, their house mozzarella blend, goat cheese, and drizzled with truffle oil) is amaaaaaaaazing. The truffle oil is just a hint, and the tangy goat cheese adds just the right pop... and the crunch of the crispy crust edges? *chef's kiss* I love to add a bit of spicy honey on top of the slices when I'm ready to eat too. Honestly though, everything I've tried from here has been delicious. Service here is also top notch - friendly, welcoming, and attentive. I pick up my orders (vs using something like Grub Hub or DoorDash), and the folks here always seem to have things timed so that it's ready JUST as I've arrived. My pizzas are always piping hot when I pick them up. If you prefer to eat in, you can. There's not a ton of seating here, but there are about four or five tables if you want to sit at the shop to eat. TL;DR One of the best pizza places around. And if you're a fan of mushrooms? They need to rename themselves The Mushroom Shoppe. Do they own a mushroom farm suddenly? It's a serious question. Their slices are absolutely AMAZING but if you don't like mushrooms, you are just out of luck. Their chef puts mushrooms on literally every single specialty slice they make every single day. Wild. Check their Facebook, it's actually a running joke in our house now. We won't drive across town for cheese/pep slices so we haven't been here in months. This is a gem of a pizza place hidden in a large strip mall with a name that is very similar to another pizza restaurant nearby. Thankfully, I had my trusty GPS to guide me. If you take the time to come here when they are open (check their hours first) you will be rewarded with quite possibly the best Detriot style pizza outside of Michigan. I was passing through town and popped in for a quick piece of pizza. The staff welcomed me upon entry and showed me the available slices. They also pointed out some of the highlights from their limited (curated) menu which focuses on what they do well: pizza and pasta. Almost all what they offer is made in-house. I first had a piece of their cup and char pepperoni pizza. Though it had been sitting a bit, it was given a reheat in their oven and it came out wonderful. The Detroit-style pans cause the cheese on the edges to burnish into a wonderful crust with multiple layers of either chewy and crispy bread/crust underneath. The pepperoni was plentiful and the sauce good. They cut each pan into four pieces (the equivalent of 2 pieces of thin pizza in my estimation) so everyone gets both an "inside" and a "corner" piece. As a corner fan, this is great. However, I admit I succumbed to asking for a fork and knife to eat it (hey, I was in a suit!). I should have stopped there, but their white pizza with ricotta and spinach was calling to me. A large pillowy dallop of cheese came in the middle which I spread around nicely complimented the fresh spinach. I don't mind broccoli on a white pizza unless it is the frozen stuff that just turns wet and mushy. This spinach was a great alternative. And, it was much less salty than the first slice. I doubt that any pizza they serve here would be considered healthy. But, if you want a huge slice of thick, hearty pizza this is the place to go. If they don't have what you want available as a slice, they make whole pizzas too. Desserts were available, as were fresh pasta and sauce to go, but I just grabbed a couple of shakers of "Utica Grind" red pepper. If you know, you know. I will definitely be back. read more

Stopped in for the first time today and my only disappointment is that I hadn't tried it sooner. The pizza is absolutely delicious! The dough has a beautiful light crisp on the bottom and is so soft and satisfying through the thick center. The toppings were super fresh, the sauce is perfectly balanced, the cheese was generous, but the slice didn't feel oily the way so many do. It was a really satisfying treat. For $7, I got as much food as I would stopping at a fast food joint, but it tasted like pizza that comes to you at a sitdown restaurant. Great value. And one slice to go is the perfect sized meal. I also like Joe's Brooklyn Pizza, which is entirely different in its flavor and style, but when I pick up a slice there, I feel like I'm getting a snack, just a slice. So I saw the reviews and had not tried Detroit style slices...what a pleasant surprise. Damn near cried after tasted my first bite of Chicken Riggies, love that pepper flavor. I had both the Pepperoni Slice and Pepperoni & Mushroom slices, the crust was perfect crusty outside and light and airy on the inside. The pepperoni had the appropriate balance of taste without too much heat that would overwhelm the flavor. The shop was clean, fresh and tidy and the staff were outstanding across the board. Nice pizza stop with good Detroit style pizza. The slice was large and well covered in topping. The shop is very utilitarian but clean and well maintained. Service was quick and pleasant. My only reservation was that both times I visited the the heated slice I received was not really hot. I believe that they want to make service so quick that they rushed the re-heating process and I like hot slices. I'm pretty sure that if I specifically ask they will modify the heating time to my satisfaction. read more

Panorama plaza is far from nice as it is run down & many empty business but let me tell you The Pizza Shoppe is a diamond in the rough. When you open the door it smells so delicious. Staff was friendly but seemed like they could have use 1 more person working for a Friday lunch hour. We did the lunch special which is a choice of an available slice, soda & cookie or chips. We did pepperoni slices, Fiz soda & cookies. I chose the oatmeal butter scotch & my husband did the chocolate chip. Love the opportunity to choose the Fiz soda (local) over Coca Cola even though I do love Coke. The cookie were fresh & a good size. My husband's was chock full of chocolate chips & the butterscotch one was chewy & delicious. Pizza was still in the oven so we did have to wait a few for it but it was so fresh, delicious crust & lovely pepperoni. My wife and I have eaten at The Pizza Shoppe 3 times. We always sit at a table and are provided with plates and real utensils. Every time the pizza is DELICIOUS. We always have a whole pie. Many choices to decide from. It takes about 17 minutes once the pie goes into the oven. Ask the owner about the crust. Great story. They also have different other meals. Many pasta choices. The first two times we ordered from here they were phenomenal, tonight we ordered 2 pizzas and they were burnt, the sauce had an odd taste that was quite disgusting, the crust was wet, it was not good at all. My oldest child asked to eat leftovers instead because it didn't taste good. So if you order from here it not be consistent. read more
