The price tag for the hotel rooms, as other have mentioned, is definitely due to the location. It can't be beat. Breakfast is okay, with a selection of eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, breads and a coffee machine. Small variety of fruit and yogurt as well. The rooms are absolutely tiny. We booked a family room and not sure what happened...the pull out couch barely fit our two young children and left zero space in the room. The bathroom was also small and had limited space even for towels, let alone counter space. I booked through Priceline, which I will never do again because our reservation was completely messed up. They didn't have the right number of people or the included breakfast reflected in the hotels reservation system. The front desk staff couldn't have been kinder though and sorted it all out rather quickly. If you're just a solo travel or a couple the rooms would be sufficient and it would probably make for a great home base during your time in Galway.

It is located at a perfect location for walkability - right across the street from the Spanish Arch! We could see it from our window! This, of course, meant we were right at the foot of the Latin Quarter which is filled with noisy tourists and pubs. Our room was nicely fitted with two windows which cut out the noise sufficiently. Check in was a breeze! And our room was big and comfortable. With the change to Leonardo came refurbished rooms so it all felt pretty new. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Two of the four evenings we were here, they offered late afternoon chocolate chip cookies and prosecco! A nice touch! We only had their breakfast one of the mornings. If you purchase it in advance, the price is reduced by a couple euros. They had standard Irish breakfast buffet offerings and the staff were friendly. I wasn't overly wowed by the breakfast and, since there are so many restaurants and coffee places nearby, I wouldn't recommend it here.

And it was. The rooms were absolutely fantastic, as was the view. We had an in-suite bathroom and shower, high quality sheets and blankets, and an electric tea kettle, tea, and a television in our room. Aside from the farmhouse being absolutely beautiful, the husband and wife duo were SO welcoming and genuine. They helped everyone who stayed figure out what they should see while in the area, made suggestions, gave directions, and struck up conversation. And they just happened to be great cooks too. Staying here was one of the best decisions we made because it enabled us to see The Cliffs of Moher (one mile walk from the B&B), Doolin Cave (biggest stalactite in the world open to the public), the Aran Islands, and Bunratty Castle (about an hour south) before heading in to Galway. My only note is that if you're staying off season, please note finding a place to eat might not always be easy, especially on the weekday! If you don't mind pub food or the pub atmosphere, it's a lot easier. But if you're looking for a nice sit down restaurant, you might want to try the hotel about ten minutes from the B&B. They have a great menu!

Once you do find it, St. Martin's is perfect. Mary is a wonderful hostess. She is so friendly and more than happy to give you advice on where to go and what to see. Her breakfast was fantastic. And her brown bread was the best we had in Ireland. I wish I could have some right now. The location is perfect for Galway, just a two minute walk over the bridge to the center of town. It has all the benefits of being right in the city, like walking to the pubs and shops and easy access to all the city's sights, but since it's just over the bridge, it's quiet too... and we were there on Friday and Saturday nights. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom clean. We ate breakfast looking out on Mary's beautiful garden with Galway just beyond. It couldn't have been a better experience. I only hope we'll have a chance to stay their again.

The stately castle hotel, part of the Relais and Chateau association, is a welcoming beacon in the Connemara. Adjacent to a trout/salmon stream just a mile from the ocean and featuring extensive woodland walking trails, one can't help but feel at peace. In fact there's an overwhelming feeling of coziness and calm in the spacious suites with a view to the woods and water. Our suite, #36 was so quiet and beautiful it was a treat returning to it after exploring the wild Atlantic way. The two easy chairs with views quickly became our his/hers perches for reflection. Our superior king suite itself was very large with a four poster bed and ample room to spread out and settle in while the generous bathroom with its tub, shower, two sinks and make up desk added to our comfort. With its two restaurants the fisherman's pub (casual) and fine dining Owenmore restaurant one never need seek sustenance elsewhere. The beautiful breakfast that was included provided masterfully cooked to order entrees along with a sumptuous buffet each morning to get you started on your day of exploration. We also enjoyed the beautiful walled garden which is not to be missed and some of the well Maintained walking trails through ancient forest. Exceptional property and lovely (but too short) stay. The food from the best seafood chowder to fish and chips (with a perfect Guinness) and just what you need to start a great conversation with new Irish friends. That's the vibe at one great hotel.
