If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. I've always wanted to stay in a castle without paying the exorbitant prices. Well staying here is the next best thing. Although you're not staying in the castle walls, you're staying the a country house right next to the castle. And I have to say that with the exceptional service here, you are made to feel like you are staying right inside a castle. On the day of arrival, we checked in after 7pm and we had just missed the 6:30 castle tour given by the owner. Well the owner was kind enough to offer us a tour of the castle at 9pm. I was amazed by his kindness to offer us a tour so late in the evening. Well, tour was amazing. It's not a big castle by any means but it's still an old castle with a lot history. The owners are beyond hospitable and they keep the place impeccable. Our room was large, very comfortable, and nicely decorated. The rooms don't have AC but most of Ireland's hotels don't either. However, we were here during a rare heatwave. The owners were kind enough to let us borrow a big standing fan that was being used in the guest parlor. We were lucky enough to have 2 meals here... dinner and breakfast. The difference was outstanding and truly one of these best meals I've had in our 12 days in Ireland. Appetizer was baked goat cheese, pistachio nuts, over seasonal salad and fruit chutney. Dinner was pan fried Cajun salmon, buttered with horseradish, over stir fried vegetables, balsamic dressing. And finally, dessert was homemade ice creams with sorbet. All 3 courses were fantastic. Breakfast was also an amazingly delicious. I highly recommend staying here or at a minimum eating dinner here. You can eat here without staying overnight.

We stayed two days at the Ballinalacken Castle and Country House while on tour recently with Olde Ipswitch Tours and had a wonderful stay. It is a B&B and the hosts were gracious and we had wonderful breakfasts and dinners. The castle is only steps away and our sunsets and sunrises were outstanding.

I wish there was room for 10 stars! What an amazing find! Quaint...a walk in yesterday! Family owned, dinner-amazing, breakfast amazing, rooms-adorable! The view second to none with the cliffs of Moher and the Aran islands to see out of nearly every window...a walk to an abandoned castle, the grounds filled with wild flowers takes you to the scene in the sound of music where Julie Andrews runs across the meadow! I can not wait to go back to this amazing hotel. Declan, his wife and their son, Dan are the top notch hosts! read more

Absolutely beautiful location with fantastic views and great food. They gave us a complimentary upgrade to the honeymoon suite and it was by far the most beautiful room we've ever stayed in, with views of wildflowers and the water. The family was so nice and accommodating and the castle is breathtaking. The stay has been the highlight of our trip and we can't wait to come back some day! read more

We stayed here for three nights and loved it. We really wanted to stay in a castle without spending the entire budget for our trip in one stay. This place was perfect for that. The family-run place is charming, rustic, and the perfect get-away. The family and staff are attentive and hospitable. The restaurant is super tasty and convenient. They give an historic tour of the castle, too. Loved it. Would definitely stay here again if we're ever in that part of Ireland. read more

I can' t say better things about this staff. Free WiFi in the sitting / bar area - why was this important to me? Because the following day we were flying to England, and wanted to book transportation from the airport, tickets to the Tower of London, the Big Bus, etc.... The staff went out of their way to help print the confirmation sheets and opened the bar early to make the experience "less painful." We even got a private tour of the ruins above the B&B the following morning! read more
After visiting the Cliffs of Moher we took a short drive to this country house. We thought it would be our last meal in Ireland so we wanted a special treat. We got it. This country house has it's own castle that they will show to guests. Since we were on a time limit we did not join them but it looked like a nice touch. Our meal was impeccable ...the produce and meat used were seasonal and fresh. The food was delicious. I wish I had known it would take me so long to write the review because I would have written down what we had. Their menu is seasonal so what is up right now I don't think is what we saw in early June. It doesn't matter because I imagine everything is good.. If I ever go back to Ireland I will definitely stay here. Loved it. read more

Hidden gem in Doolin! The owner is super nice and offers tours of the private castle on property every night at 6:30pm. I had a small issue when checking in but they went out of their way to correct it. Adorable pub on premise and a short cab ride from Mcgann's pub which was also awesome (Pat the bartender is super nice!) Also great breakfast with great views. A must stay if you are heading to Doolin! read more
