My daughters also found a gorgeous route for their morning run. There is a spacious parking lot, which was not the case at most of the other hotels. Our room was light and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the water in the shower was unpredictable and it was usually cold with a blast of scalding hot water every now and then; however, this did seem to be a trend at most European hotels. When we checked in the kind lady at the reception desk spent time telling us about the hotel, things to see and do in the area, and showed us to our room. The breakfast room was comfortable and the food was good and filling. The service was very, very slow. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend my friends to stay as well.

When you enter the main door, first impressions are that you've let yourself in for a 3 star rating or even less stay at this hotel. But don't be fooled by the need for a good upgrade, a lick of paint or even leveling some sloping floors! - it all adds to the charm of Hyland's and would probably be an entirely different place if it was modernised. The staff, while lacking in some managerial direction in times, were, on the whole really friendly and helpful and went out of their way to be as attentive as possible even during the peak busy times. Breakfast was amazing with a huge choice and absolutely tons of food - but certainly needed before heading off for a long days walk on the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and surrounding areas. Absolutely delicious freshly made brown bread - almost hot from the oven - all hot courses at breakfast were ordered and served by the waiting staff, while fresh fruit and cereals were on the self-service table. We had a truly excellent dinner on our first night, with a huge choice for each course and again large portions, but very nicely presented. Parking is available at a very narrow entrance just as you pass the front of the hotel on the left. WiFi is only available downstairs in the mainly lobby or bar area which is a bit of a nuisance. I would highly recommend this wonderful homely hotel which is right in the heart of the gorgeous village of Ballyvaughan - with lots of other nice pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and Cafes on its doorstep, not to mind the wonderful location as a hub for walking as I've already outlined above.

From the small back deck you can look over this town all the way to the high cliffs that drop into the ocean, creating picturesque views of the orange, red and pink sunset. We arrived to a small sign personally welcoming us. Niall and Darra treated us like family while we stayed at their house and even dined at their table. They were personally acquainted with the entire area and gave us honest recommendations for spending our days there. We were able to see the Cliffs without crowds because of their directions. We then had the perfect dinner of local food at Roadford House where we walked along stonewalls past cows, horses, and sheep to the intimate dining room overlooking pastures. We ended the night by enjoying local music at O'Connor's Pub just a minute walk from the Sea View. We would highly recommend staying at the Sea View for at least a few nights on your trip to Ireland. Thanks again Darra and Niall, Ryan and Cristina

The rooms (we stayed in more than one), the food, the hospitality and the views were all just perfect. If we could give them more stars, we would. We were so engrossed and enamored in our first experience in Ireland, and neither of us did reviews, but I feel like I need to say WE ADORE SEA VIEW HOUSE!! We are very much looking forward to another visit!!

The hospitality shown by staff and the owner was unparalleled. The lodging was comfortable and luxurious with beautifully decorated rooms, elegant common areas, and many touches including signature bath products that made us feel well taken care of. The views and outdoor space make this location unforgettable. We greatly enjoyed the food throughout or stay, the wedding meal was thoughtful, creative and all around delightful. Morning meals were equally delicious and a great introduction to Irish breakfasts. The pub offered a cozy space for our group to enjoy a pint. If I find myself back in the area I will absolutely visit again.

The staff is attentive and helpful without interfering. The grounds are farm like and peaceful with a lovely walk about the property on a perfectly groomed trail. The hotel cats (Lady and another boy cat) will walk the grounds with you. The restaurant boasts a tasting menu and price fixe that is widely considered one of the best meals in the country. I was traveling with an ex food critic father and all agree- it deserves the reputation. There is an emphasis on locally sourced traditional foods and ingredients. Breakfast is included and the buffet has every fine Irish cheese you could wish for an smoked fish and fruits and yogurts and fresh baked breads as well as many cooked options. It's a must stay spot for an Ireland tour if you can afford the price. It's well worth it. If you are, however, allergic to cats, be warned. They have the run of the place and get into your room with wily cunning. Those who suffer badly will wake up with puffy eyes and sniffing. But the cats are dear and my dad, who woke up puffy and red, was happy to pay the price for some fine cat time.
