This bar/restaurant gets great Yelps, and after getting takeaway tonight, I would agree that you must stop in. Lamb Shank - w/mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potato, green beans & broccoli, with a delicious gravy. This was FANTASTIC. Like the best I have had. Ever. Cheeseburger w/bacon, lettuce, tomato, & chubby fries - very good. Squishy bun, good patty, generous on the fries. I walked this back to my Airbnb about 10 minutes away, and everything was still blazing hot when I got back. They were kind to include some ketchup & mayo on the side. While I waited at the bar for my takeaway to be made, someone got served a gorgeous salmon dish on mashed potatoes. It looked really good! I would JUMP at the chance to have the lamb here again, and try their other things too. Highly recommend! read more

Good environment. Good service. Absolutely no effort was put forth in preparing the dishes we ordered. The chicken tenders, battered ok however void of season / flavor. The penne pasta with chicken, the Alfredo sauce had no flavor. The chicken breast had no flavor. Meh. I didn't see the big deal. We came here due to the previous amazing reviews so we decided to try it out. It is a pretty small pub but the staff were very kind and got us seating asap. I have no complaints about the staff, they were so great. However, the food was pretty bland. The sandwiches was this pathetic thin sliver of meat with some onions and mayonnaise. The soup was pretty decent. Their curry was pretty tasteless and not worth it. My group was just left very unsatisfied with the food. The service was great though. read more

The wind throughout the cliff trip was bone chilling and upon arrival at Danny Macs I saw their soup of the day was a cauliflower & broccoli soup. Our server offered to let me try a small bit because I guess my hesitation was pretty obvious. It was absolutely delicious, creamy and hearty with so much flavor. I got the focaccia as my main meal, but after that bowl of soup I could barely eat half. The sandwich was mainly Brie with olive oil and chutney and onions - I can't 100% remember all the components but it was superb. I ended up taking more than half home and eating it cold for dinner. Wonderful fish and chips. The service was good, the male server/bartender was very nice. Burger was interesting, cheese had a very.. distinct flavor that I wasn't the biggest fan of but I'm also rather picky with burgers. Fairly priced and had inexpensive beers compared to other places we've been to in Ireland. Short walk to the beach as well for an after meal walk. read more

We were visiting Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands and we stopped at Danny Mac's three times on our vacation. First day - perfect lunch: potato soup and sirloin steak (amazing) and my boyfriend got chowder and pork with mashed potatoes and veggies (€60). For dinner we took traditional fish & chips, big portions (26€). Second day we both had chowder as a starter (never tried before, but it was amazing, very creamy and delicious) and for main I tried chicken Kiev with chips & salad and Bailey cheesecake as a desert (€60). We came here on the recommendation of Yelp. The interior is small and obviously serves as a lively pub later in the evenings. They have a fairly large selection of bar food to choose from. We ordered a burger and the tuna melt. The food was surprisingly tasty, although the burger came plain. The meat was flavorful, but a bit over cooked. Chips were good. Prices were also reasonable, but that can probably be attributed to La(e)hinch not being a tourist destination. Worth a stop for lunch or a quick snack. read more

The service was absolutely amazing. I am specifically referring to the dark haired gentleman who was extra attentive and accommodating to our needs. Upon entry, we whizzed straight to the first available seats as the restaurant was cosy and busy, but the waitress stopped us, saying the seat was reserved. We didn't mind being seated at the smaller table however, the nice waiter offered the larger, more comfy booth. We declined, saying we didn't want to take up such large seats in a busy restaurant, but the waiter insisted so we took him up on his generous offer. We ordered the: x Fish & Chips (€12.50)-3 stars- it was a generous platter of 2 pieces of battered fish, accompanied with a side of salad and a bed of mashed peas. Not amazing but still tasty. x Seafood Chowder (€6.50)- 5 stars- we've had a lot around Ireland and this one was the creamiest and best by far. x Garlic Bread (€3.50)- 2 stars- this was very basic and can be more garlicky and crispy. We've been driving around country for the last week and haven't had much good food or good hospitality until this place. The same waiter was also very attentive with my water and offered refills and a lemon to go with it. He's the reason for my overall 5 star rating! read more

Got a promotion at work and decided to come visit my friends in Ireland. For a day trip we went to the cliffs and decided to cap off a great trip with some chowder. It tasted fine and we went on our way back to Galway. Around 1AM one of the girls got ill and went home. The next morning I woke up throwing up bile. It was clear since it was just the two of us sick and we were the only ones that had the chowder it was food poisoning. So thanks a million for serving us rotten fish and ruining the rest of my stay in Ireland xx read more

Came in right at the lunch rush and was desperate for WiFi access because my mobile wasn't working--the friendly and brisk service here set me straight. Ordered the fish and chips, which was one of the largest portions I've seen in ages, plus green salad, coleslaw, and mushy peas. I was far from being able to finish it in spite of how delicious it all was, but that didn't stop me from staying for a little longer for a cup of tea. Tiny little Pub/Restaurant on the corner of Main St. Friendly wait staff nice menu with several specials on the board. Tried the half roasted chicken special came out fast on a heaping portion of mashed potatoes with gravy drizzled around the side of the plate, also comes with traditional whole grain soda bread and veggies ( cabbage, carrots, cauliflower and puréed parsnips... that are sooooo yummy) chicken was a little dry but tasty. The seafood chowder is full of all kinds of seafood, fish, shrimp and muscles a wonderful creamy base seasoned with herbs and veggies. We are still hunting for a restaurant that over looks the water and we have been here for 6 days now. read more
