The tiny town of Doolin where most people gather at O'Conner's Pub, but we had multiple recommendations to try Ivy Cottage for their seafood. We ordered an Atlantic Chowder with salmon, cod and smoked haddock in a creamy vegetable broth. It was outstanding! We each ordered Fish & Chips which was fried cod with triple fried chips. We just had to compare our outstanding fish with lousy chips in London to these from the west coast of Ireland near the Cliffs of Moher. Today's cod was excellent and the chips were perfect. The chowder was excellent and probably the best I e ever had. The pickles and dill on top were a great and unique addition.

By far this was one of my favorite meals when visiting Ireland! This a family owned small restaurant that has incredible food. It's a very quaint place and definitely has the cottage vibes. I think their menu changes, but we got the seafood taglietella (the flavor was astounding, and the seafood super fresh), the chowder (hands down the best chowder we had the whole trip, and we had chowder everyday). The food had so much flavor without overdoing it, well balanced, and was really comforting. Overall would definitely eat here if you're in the area!

Had a couple of nights in Doolin and needed a spot for a nice send off dinner with a group of seven lifelong friends. Ivy Cottage came through with a dynamite meal, coupled with local beers and ciders. Ended the meal with a tasting plate of delicious deserts.

The cutest place ever! My husband had the fish of the day and it was delicious. I got the seafood chowder, OMG so good. I will be thinking about it for a long time. We went during the off season and there was plenty of parking in the area. A quick drive from Cliffs of Moher.

Adorable place to stop in for soup or fish & chips. Limited menu but delicious! Great service.

Amazing Halibut over grilled zucchini with a mango chimichurri.

Stopped in after reading recent reviews. They open at 5:00 p.m. and we were there when they opened. I had a halibut dish and my wife had the seafood chowder. Both were absolutely amazing and the presentation was beautiful. I don't often order dessert but because this chef was so amazing on his main course we ordered the dessert which also blew us away.

Seriously one of the best meals I have had in a while. The place is very friendly and the service is outstanding. It sits back off just off the road as you head to Doolin harbor. We enjoyed it so much for dinner that we stopped by for lunch the next day. For our dinner we sat inside and they had a nice little wood stove stokes to cool the slight chill the night brought. Our lunch the next day was outside under the gazebo because it was a gorgeous sunny day. The food was amazing. I got the crab starter, which was crab claws in an insanely great sauce with chili peppers added for color and flavor (yes, I did ask for a spoon so I didn't miss any of the sauce. For my entree I ordered the Seafood Tagliatelle. The pasta was well made and cooked perfectly. The mixture of mussels, clams and prawns along with the tomatoes and onions, in addition to another fantastic sauce made for a great dish. My wife got the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked, nice and crisp, and the chips were great (in full disclosure they were used to get the remaining sauce from my dish). Our lunch the next day were the Double Bacon Burgers. The burger were super juicy and appeared to have been cooked with stone ground mustard in them (going to have to try that at home). The bus was great as was the cheese and bacon. This was a great burger! Can't say enough about this place! Don't miss out if in Doolin.

Folks we met at McGann's pub while listening to some trad music highly recommended we try the Ivy Cottage. It did not disappoint. Walking into this small quaint space we could tell right away we were in for a charming evening. The service and ambiance was only surpassed by the quality of the food. I had the seafood tagliatelle which was excellent; she had the strip loin steak which was also excellent - perfectly cooked medium rare as she requested. Don't pass up this little gem.

I took a chance, even though there weren't that many reviews. The whole group was extremely satisfied with the meal here. I would have to say the best I've had since we've been in Ireland. There was a little hesitation at first because they didn't have a full bar. The do have beers and wine though. The food was superb. The crab legs appetizer has precut crab legs in a cream sauce served with bread. The taste of the sauce was delicious. Some ordered the French onion soup, which is different without melted cheese on top, but the flavor was very good. A few of us had the goat cheese salad and it was a hit. The fish and chips were the best I have ever had here. The fries were fried three times and crispy. The ratio of breading to fish was perfect. The fish was also seasoned where a lot of restaurants failed to season the fish. The seafood tagliatelle was ok, but not as flavorful as the other dishes we had. The chicken breast with chorizo was also a hit. The dessert was a trio and enough for 2-3 people. The service was good as well. I don't think you can go wrong eating here and would highly recommend it.

What a fantastic little gem! Small menu, but each item was delicious. My daughter said it was the best beef stew she had anywhere in Ireland. The place is charm filled inside and out and the staff is friendly and lovely. Definitely a terrific stop!

Fish and chips. My husband has been sampling this same dish all across Ireland and I think this one hit all the right notes

Cute place with delicious food and wonderful, attentive servers! Almost walked right past it because it was quiet and tucked away... but no! Very much open and welcoming. Loved this place!

Everything is made for severe celiacs. We dined like very happy and healthy royalty. Thank you Ivy Cottage!

A wonderfully picturesque bistro with spectacular views of the County Claire countryside along the Wild Atlantic Way. From the 100-year-old cottage that the restaurant is situated to the beautiful patio and deck around it, Stonecutters provides the ideal scenery if you're visiting the area when you want to enjoy some delicious cuisine. We started with a bottle of Sangiovese while I noshed on some homemade brown soda bread, which was divine with Irish butter. The seafood tagliatelle was delicious and creamy that I savored every bite between the mussels and prawns and squid. The banofee dessert was magical between the biscuit on the bottom topped with bananas and drizzled with caramel and topped with ice cream. Enjoying our meal amidst the glorious setting was equally as memorable, if not more. No pictures can do justice to just how breathtaking it is to enjoy a meal in such a beautiful setting. Stonecutters is an ideal choice to enjoy dinner that has endless amounts of scenery to enjoy a wonderful outdoor dining experience.

The bright yellow house, turned restaurant is easy to spot on the way to/from the Cliffs of Moher. You pull in to a small playground and a friendly dog roaming the grounds. This place is unusually kid-friendly, while not being child-centric, particularly given the size. By that, I mean, on entering the public toilet area, there is a nifty baby changing station - WITH supplies. Anyone who's had a child can relate this to a restroom having toilet paper! I found it to have very thoughtful touches like that, the special room & playground equipment - I also heard staff tell a patron that the kids get a toy to keep with their meal. I didn't view the kids menu, tho I heard a parent talking about some options with her child, including fish & every child's favorite fun food "spaghetti"! Adults were not forgotten- there were candles on the table and nicely plated meals and home-style options, with a lovely selection of wine and beet to choose from. The service was friendly and helpful- food was well seasoned and properly cooked: fingerling potatoes were crisp outside and tender inside. I wish we'd skipped attempting the cafe at the cliffs all together & just started here!!
