Tigh Ned is a pub we happily stumbled upon during our visit to the Aran Islands. So lucky to have stopped here. The menu offered a variety of sandwiches/ wraps/ paninis and salads. We both settled upon the chipotle chicken panini and learned after ordering the fish n chips was on special. Our paninis came out quickly, warm and fresh and were AMAZING! Would certainly order again but would consider the fish n chips as it looked delicious as well. Bar keep was attentive and personable. Grab a pint (or 5) and grab a bite here. Will not disappoint.

Daily special, Fresh Crab claws and crab meat.

This pub is perfectly situated a short walk from where the boats drop you off. I had the daily special, which was crab claws and crab meat with a salad. The meal wasn't super filling, but the food was fresh. Pub has a great view overlooking the ocean that you can take in if you sit out front and enjoy your meal.

Best food we've had in Ireland! They also have their own brewed ale, which is worth a taste!

If the weather is good, there is a large area outiside with stone tables and picnic benches to sit and enjoy the view from the island.

Wow! Talk about an authentic fish 'n chips. This one almost nails it!…read more The restaurant is super cozy and right on the water. It was fun and quaint and hearing the Celtic music in the background made this lunch spot all the more special. Since I knew I was going to be doing a lot of walking that day, I decided against an alcoholic beverage and got a Ginger Ale. It was tiny, kid sized! Honestly, not as good as I would have liked. It was quite heavy on the ginger, which perhaps is a good thing because that would have aided best with nausea or stomach issues. I never had any of those while in Ireland, which is telling about the food there. The fish 'n chips are great, wait a minute, so is the rest of the seafood here! To start, I got a seafood chowder, and sorry Boston, sorry San Francisco, sorry Seattle, your chowders do not match up to this one. It is hearty, full of fish in each bite. The broth is milky delicious, and it is a helping of one that would make any fisherman feel great mid shift. As for the fish 'n chips, how could I forget? Great fry, great chip (because the chowder was so heavy I could not eat them all), and the fish (it was Hake), is super flaky. Be mindful though as the fish has the bone-in so you will have to pick them out or you can accidentally choke on one, or swallow one painfully. From the ferry to the plate, this is one restaurant you are not going to want to miss if you plan a trip to the Aran Islands.
