The room was well updated and cozy. Each morning we had full complimentary breakfast across the street at the Barracks restaurant that was included with our room. Scott runs a very hospitable business and his passion for customer service shows through his staff. Michael was awesome, not only was he the one received us at 7pm, checked us in and showed us our room, he was also working each morning in the restaurant and helped us plan our daily journeys around the Galway area. Everyone we met were very attentive , kind and helpful. Next door to the Lodge, The Stone House Pizza had awesome food as well and is the one place we found that serves a true cocktail. I highly recommend staying at the Lodge at The Old Barracks to anyone who likes a local vibe and hospitality. After our fantastic experience I would never consider staying anywhere else when visiting the Galway area.

O'Brien Bakery…read more Cute lil bakery! The area is gorgeous too with the water running nearby. Adorable little town! We stopped here for some goodies, while on the road. Worth the stop! There was no line. And it wasn't crowded. The whole area seemed to not have many tourists. Maybe because it was a weekday? Not too sure. But the baked goods are fresh. It was a nice break. Good little bakery to hit if you are in the area! :)
