My first visit to this hotel left me with such tingles that I had to come back. My mom was in town and I wanted to show her the best of Ireland by taking her to Galway. As I'd stayed with them before, I knew that this was absolutely the place that I wanted to take my mom that would leave the best impression.
This hotel is located in a perfect location, only 10 minutes' walk from the city centre but set back a bit away from the buzz and noise. The hotel is set on a lovely property with gorgeous gardens all around. The rooms are very luxurious, decorated from a different time period but still with the modern amenities. They have, by far, some of the most comfy beds I've ever slept in. Although I didn't have the opportunity to use the leisure facilities, I hear that are fab and include a swimming pool. I've dined in both the in-house restaurant for breakfast that has great food and even better views overlooking Salt Hill (which might I add for a buffet style breakfast the options and food are fab!). The other restaurant onsite, Blazers, is very warm and inviting not to mention that I love the fire places. They have a bar in the hotel which is also a late night bar so you can get drinks until bar time.
Ok, now to the good story. I booked my accommodation with The Ardiluan House Hotel through AlphaRooms. I had booked a triple room with a single and double bed. When I came in to check in for my booking, they couldn't find my reservation. I had the proper voucher and confirmation from AlphaRooms with me to present to the front desk. Immediately the gentleman helping me at the front desk, his name slips my mind at the moment, without hesitation came back and said we don't have that room available as we can't find your booking but we can put you in another similar, larger room. I was like "Yes, please". You never want to be in a situation where the hotel can't find your booking but the customer service agent helping up thought quickly and made what could have been a really bad experience into a good experience. I was completely happy with the way they handled things. I wasn't hassled, I was able to enjoy my trip and they sorted everything out with AlphaRooms on their end.
I'm going to be in Galway in 3 weeks and I've already booked The Ardiluan House Hotel for that visit too! They've got a customer for life in me! read more
