Some rooms have AC, others don't (currently having a heat wave). Windows don't open all the way. Power goes on and off on some floors. Manager put us on a corner room at street level - super loud - only worsened by the fact that they are refurbishing the hotel. Woken up by contractors in the hallway at 745am using hammers and chisels to replace carpeting in our hallway. Obstacle course to get back into our room. Bathrooms were not clean.

While traveling through Ireland we stayed at three Jurys Inn hotels, this one was my least favorite, but through no fault of the hotel staff, furnishings, or the restaurant (all of these were great and consistent among the chain with minor differences) the HUGE problem here was location. In terms of restaurants, sight seeing and such the location is great, but if you want sleep and need quiet ask for a room AWAY from the main street out front. I got no sleep as I was serenaded by drunken bachelorettes, annoyed by drunk college boys arguing with an ambulance driver that was trying to take their drunk friend away, and the sound of security trying to wake a drunk woman who passed out beneath our ground floor window (which was closed, but not very good at keeping out the sound of the weekend party goers) who happened by until about 4am.

Patio at Jurys. Great spot for a drink when the sun's shining over Galway.

You can't beat the location. The Spanish Arch and the harbor are literally outside the entrance, and the surrounding streets are filled with restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops. The room was comfortable. We'd recommend Jurys to anyone--again, fantastic location and courteous, friendly staff.

My flight to Shannon arrived early in the morning. I felt so groggy after the rough trip and just wanted a nap, so I took the chance on a room being available earlier and headed to Jury's right from the airport. As we checked in, I noted that our room was on the second floor. The original blocked number had been scratched out. I asked about it and the front desk agent shrugged and said if we wanted to check in early, we had to take what was available. Here's my gripe: On my reservation, I specifically requested a quiet room on a higher floor. Jury's only has three floors, so the second was fine. What wasn't fine? The room was directly in front of the elevator. I was a front desk agent in college, so maybe I analyze too much, but if someone showed up early but had special requests, I would have suggested they stop and get a coffee or wander around the town until their room of choice was ready. If they were too tired, I'd warn them ahead of time and confirm the change with them before giving them arguably the worst room available in the hotel. I didn't sleep through either night of my stay at this hotel. Despite donning ear plugs, I was woken multiple times each night by the elevator noise, another odd buzzing sound I couldn't place, and other guests chatting as they waited for the elevator or walked to their rooms. It wasn't quiet in the least. I also don't think the amenities matched the price. I've stayed in other European hotels of similar standards for way cheaper. It was a typical bare bones setup with a too-firm bed and not enough electrical outlets. I would have loved to charge my phone from the twin bed, but only the double bed occupier had that luxury. I did, however, love the bathroom. It came equipped with large conditioning shampoo, body wash, and liquid soap containers. While they didn't provide two face towels either day, they were fast in running a second up on request. The shower itself was very nice too. Jury's does have an incredible location going for it. The car park is right next door and available at a discounted rate. Not to mention, the entrance to the Latin Quarter is steps away for easy access to delightful pubs and shops galore.

Location was perfect for our trip to Galway! It's literally steps to Quay St which is where all the restaurants, shops and pubs are! I loved being so close to everything. The hotel was very clean and well kept, staff were extremely friendly and very helpful with recommendations. We arrived late our first night and all the restaurants downtown close fairly early so we ended up eating in the hotels bar. It's small but food was great! Pretty good sized menu, everyone was satisfied with their orders and they had no problem serving us even though the kitchen has technically closed a few minutes before we were seated. We had a great view of Quay St from our room and we could hear live performers if we had our windows open! I would 100% recommendation this hotel to anyone visiting Galway!

Great place to stay in Galway. Right in the Spanish quarter and by the bay. Staff is friendly and helpful, we had a comfortable stay.

We were able to explore the church and the bars. There are multiple bars including a lounge with a live piano player. The staff is so kind and welcoming. From checking in, providing us with a tour of the facility to bringing our luggage to our room before we even got there. Once we got to our room, there was complimentary chocolates, coffee, tea, water, and Irish biscuits. Typical of many hotels but this was next level. The coffee was nepresso with Irish shortbread cookies. We have our option of sparking or still water. The box of Glenlo Abbey chocolates was such a nice touch too. We booked the bed and breakfast option through Hilton. Unfortunately, we had an early flight and had to skip breakfast. At checkout, the front desk brewed fresh coffee and served us on a beautiful tray with milk and sugar. Not only did they make us coffee, they helped us with our bags all the way to our car. Truly a magical experience.

The rooms in this hotel are beautiful, they even have a movie room?!??!! If you are wanting to relax, enjoy the beautiful view and nice commodities, choose glenlo abbey in Gallway. It is further from downtown and the hustle and bustle of the city. But they have plenty within the hotel. My husband and I are younger so we like to get out and explore more, but it was nice to chill. They have falconry, you have to make reservations for it but it was an amazing experience! Do it! Pricey, but worth it.

Too small and too hot to be comfortable…read more Our room is too hot sleep in. We complained about how hot the room was but front desk said they only have 2 or 3 rooms with A/C (is that true??). They said to use a supplies fan, so we have the window open with a noisy fan, but it is still very hot and the fan is super noisy. Our room is also incredibly small. We barely fit in here with our luggage. It's really small!! We asked if we could upgrade to a larger room and they said "no"... our room has a "standard layout" (again I am questioning if I am being told the truth). Also, they gave us an accessible room with a bathroom that has no enclosed shower/tub and then claimed that was a standard room for the hotel (once again feeling like I'm being swindled). There is also no sink space or shelf to place toiletries of any kind. We feel very cheated for a room that was much more expensive than the nice hotels we stayed at in Dublin and Killarney. Positives: Location is great and enjoy the attached pub.

We stayed here for a couple nights during the week. We were worried about the potential noise however the live music stopped at around 11pm so we had no complaints there. Perhaps the noise is longer on weekends but we didn't see it as an issue during our weekday stay. The room was clean, and had complementary water bottles. The TV was also great and allowed us to sign in to our Netflix and YouTube for streaming on the big screen. The room was on the smaller side but enough space to at least open up our big luggage and carry on. We got discounted parking as well from the hotel, which helped as parking in the city was expensive. Did not get the chance to visit the bar in the hotel in the evenings but we heard really good live music!

I liked the wardrobe storage, the desk area, and the additional area for storing luggage. However, there were a few things which made me feel like details were being overlooked and the accommodations were outdated. The real reason I can't justify more than three stars is that housekeeping came into my room when I specifically requested they didn't. I was woken up by knocking on the door and then before I could say anything, they opened the door. I thought this was incredibly strange since I had the do not disturb sign out. Not only that, but you are supposed to request housekeeping with a different sign so why they were coming in at all is confusing to me. I still had the do not disturb sign out the door when I left and upon returning, I noticed some cups had been replaced so they definitely came into the room while I was gone. That didn't make me feel very comfortable. The first towel I went to use had a giant hairball stuck to it. Definitely not mine since I hadn't even used the towels yet. After that, I felt like everything must be dirty. The bathroom also seemed really retro to me and not in a quaint way. The toilet was difficult to flush and the shower pressure wasn't great. Not to mention, the half glass in the shower drove me crazy and no matter how careful I was, the floor would get wet. The rest of the hotel seemed to be falling apart a bit. During my three night stay, the lights of one of the elevators were out the entire time making for some awkward rides with fellow guests. The handle on the front door of the hotel ended up breaking towards the end of the stay as well. Unfortunately, someone got sick on the stairwell and it took the staff until the next morning to adequately clean it up. The location, while fairly central, was a little off the beaten path compared to other lodging options like the Leonardo. I would've much preferred to stay there and will be avoiding Harbour Hotel during future visits to Galway.

The room had washcloths, AC, and a fridge with water which is not always common in Ireland. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of town. There's even a mini-fridge that you can actually use and not get charged for. On check in there was a little bag of snacks and a plate of desserts with a lovely welcome note.
