Knowledgeable. I'm sorry I didn't get our servers name. We were seated about 11:15. I had steak, baked potato. Appetizer fried mushrooms. I could only eat half my plate but I packed up every morsel for home. We had dessert. 3 choices. Husband and I chose carrot cake. So fresh. Highly recommend. We all had salads. First, I was there for a seminar group. Our choices were limited by the host. I had the ribeye. It was very thin and had lots of fatty parts. I did not eat it. The plop of mashed potatoes were made eatable by adding the left over ranch dressing from our salads. After I did that, the rest of the table followed my example. Out of the 8 steaks on our table 2 were eaten. I took mine home for my dog. A couple of people ask about bread but we were told that they had run out. But when leaving the restaurant there was bread on the individual tables. Maybe out seminar host was just being cheap because he also told us we could only drink water. Visited Saltgrass Steakhouse in Conroe for a take-out meal. Isabelle met me and gave me some time to look over the menu, pretty extensive. Decided on their Grilled Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes and the Chicken Tortilla soup. Everything was delicious...the chicken moist and tender with flavorful grill marks, potatoes great, and the soup was very tasty. Saltgrass catered my granddaughter's third birthday party, and did an excellent job! The theme was "down on the farm" so my son and daughter-in-law decided on ribs and chicken for the main entree. The ribs were cooked well and the rub was nicely spiced up. The chicken was grilled and tender, and the chicken tenders were fat and juicy! They chose green beans, Mac and cheese, Caesar salad, and broccoli as the sides. Everything was cooked well and the serving containers were perfect for storing the sauces. No spills whatsoever! First and foremost. The food was good. My waiter was great. HOWEVER! There is a young Man with dark hair that works as a Host that needs to go. Upon entering the Restaurant he walks up and the first question is "How can I help you?" Not Hello or Welcome in. Like there are multiple reasons for 2 people to enter a place that serves food. Second. Now I know that I am a big guy. I come in at 300lbs. Why the Young Man felt the need to try and put me in a booth and then laugh when I didn't quite fit is beyond me. Unprofessional and borderline bady shaming. This guy alone will be the reason why I won't return. If that is the way that he is going to treat the customer then I'll find another place. I also recommend that if you are a large individual like myself that you do the same. Obviously this isn't behavior that they are concerned with correcting. read more

We tried. We really did. We used to go to this location often. But over the last couple of years the food has been coming out slower and slower and the steaks were usually over cooked. Tonight we were there for an hour and a half total and when our medium steaks came out they were pretty much well done - tough and chewy, to the point that we both just stopped eating. We went to Saltgrass to celebrate my son's birthday. Our waitress was wonderful, but we had an issue with Brittney and Kristi. We waited over an hour and a half to be seated for a party of eight, even though the waitlist showed we were "next" for more than 40 minutes before we were finally seated. During that time, at least ten smaller parties (2-4 people) who arrived after us were seated first. After seeing this, my husband politely asked if we could be seated at two separate tables to help move things along. Brittney told us the table was almost ready, but we continued to wait much longer. When my husband later asked Kristi the same question, she responded, "Leave my girls alone," which was very unprofessional and unnecessary. Throughout the situation, the staff appeared to be laughing and looking our way, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. We've been loyal customers of Saltgrass for years and have always had great experiences, but this visit was extremely disappointing. We hope management addresses this so other guests aren't treated the same way. read more

Our server took a while to come to our table we were about to walk out, we ordered everything at the same time, drinks ,appetizers and main meal it went smooth all the way till the end when were ready to pay, our server was busy doing something else not sure what. my wife our adult son and myself ate at this restaurant on Saturday march 14 at around 5pm. we were seated in the row of tables between the bar and the window booths which is a very tight area with almost no passage around tables when the bar fills up. the waitress was very untrained and inattentive. Glasses went empty, dish were not picked up timely, table was small and crowded. Both my wife's meal and mine were wrong. My wife sent hers back and it took 30 min. to get a replacement, it was a chopped steak with nothing else on it. You might think a simple hamburger patty would not take so long but my son and I were eating slowly as to wait on her meal but we still finished before her hamburger patty arrived. I got the 8oz steak cooked medium with fried shrimp, and a baked potato with NO sour cream. It came with no butter and double sour cream. The steak had absolutely no seasoning on it and was tough as hell. I should have sent it back but did not. It was absolutely the worst steak that I have ever had to endure! Manager was understanding sorta but service was pretty bad our waiter sucked. Sat down and got our drinks and app ordered came back with drinks and bread in like 5 mins then ordered our meals at that point as well. 40mins go by and we get our appetizer that they compt and apologized for which was fine then after another 15mins go by we get our salads and then a little after an hour from when we ordered we didn't receive our food just asked for the check and dipped. They weren't busy and had plenty of wait staff. The table behind us got their appetizer salad and meal before we got our salad and they sat down after we had already ordered our food. Not my favorite restaurant, but my Father-in-Law wanted to go, so...Waitress seemed to be pretty new, wife ordered the Salmon Oscar, and specifically requested the fish be cooked about medium (she will not eat salmon that is overcooked!). Third time, once the manager was involved, was the charm...of course, after bread, Brussels sprouts and waiting for the meal to be cooked for the third time, half of it came home. I had a house salad and a baked potato (we were informed there would be an "up charge" for the potato!), and decided to try the "house made" bleu cheese dressing, which was runny and short on cheese. Asked for honey mustard, which was much better. Dad had the combo shrimp, which was "okay", but he has a problem with any kind of spicy food. We asked if there was anything spicy on it, and were told it was "Cajun" spiced with cayenne pepper. Manager did take the wife's meal off the bill, so that was good. My salad and potato ran a little north of $16.00! Final was the wife asking for a to go cup of iced tea, which our waitress forgot the first time around. After several times passing the table, she stopped to inform us they were "out of to go cups". Yikes. This is our second time here...first time had problems as well. Won't be back.
