I've been here for lunch 2 or 3 times. I'm a little triste that West Concord has finally yup-scaled enough to have a posh farm-to-table deli type lunch spot but I'm so glad it's here in the old post office. Good simple food, bright airy space. Not the cheapest, but good food often is not. read more

I've eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner at SBK and have never been disappointed. The farm to table approach, the light, down-to-earth vibe, the open kitchen concept, and the FOOD...oh the food. This place gets my highest rating. It's TERRIFIC to have such a nice, casual option in Concord. read more

Beginning to figure it out. I'm loving their new brewery - nice variety, accessible. And the nights when they have stayed open late have been great. Still can't figure out what I'm supposed to do about lunch in this place. read more

I enjoyed a birthday dinner at Saltbox Kitchen with my husband early on a Saturday night. It was great to be able to make a last minute decision and get a seat at the table of such a quality restaurant without a reservation. As for the food and the atmosphere I couldn't have been more pleased. The food was great, really fresh and locally sourced. It was high in quality without being overly fussy or ostentatious in presentation. The beer and wine choices were great as well. I use a wheelchair and found it very accessible, it's a bonus to eat at a four legged table and not one with a central pedestal that impedes my ability to pull up close enough to dine in comfort. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner! read more

Saltbox Kitchen - 1/2 dozen oysters appetizer, awesome horseradish sauce - New American Near Me - Concord, Massachusetts

Love love love this place. Food is amazing. Wait staff s bit sleepy. The food is excellent , it's very relaxed and welcoming. I highly recommend Saltbox. read more

My husband and I have been waiting for Saltbox to open since hearing about it last year. What a beautiful little restaurant!! The menu was very unique and creative and the food and cold brew ice coffee is delicious. Also, I am so glad they were able to get more seating!!! read more

Just had a terrible meal here. Extremely overpriced, especially for the quality of the food. Salad was overdressed and way too acidic. Frittata was dry and the flavor was off. The service is also not great. Very slow and somewhat unorganized. Will not be coming here again. read more

Went with my husband this afternoon so he could check out the craft brews. We did have lunch as well. Nice farm to table restaurant with good food. We went here specifically because Hubby looked at the"currently on tap" offerings on the website and particularly was looking forward to trying the Heywood's Ordinary. Unfortunately what was offered at the kitchen did not match was was was was on the website. Disappointed in this. read more

The service here is great and the food was pretty good (speck tartin). The salad was overly vinergary but the atmosphere is great without feeling pretentious. The coffee was also very good. read more

I love this place. I am in 2-3x a week for breakfast and I always find the service and the food impeccable. Such a welcome addition!

we stopped here after visiting the decordova sculpture Park. The food was solid we had the roast beef sandwich couple of the cakes and their peers good stop after the museum read more

Good tasting food and fun little environment, but very small portions. We needed to go eat somewhere else so we wouldn't be hungry.

I got the roasted pork sandwich, which was pretty fantastic. The bun was a but burnt, but I attributed that to how hectic opening day was. Very good. read more

I ordered a dirty chai latte and when I tasted it, all I could taste was sugar. It was way too sweet and syrupy without any indication that it would be. I exchanged it for a cappuccino. That was also a disappointment because the milk and coffee had coagulated and it tasted insanely bitter. Not the foamy frothy creamy capp I was expecting. read more

Unique and delicious. Had the rice bowl a couple of months ago, while meeting friends for lunch. We all shared different items and were pleasantly surprised. Thank goodness w.concord has some exciting places to go to now. Have been back many times since. read more

Amazing coffee and freshly prepared local products. Very cool and clean space, can't wait for the beer!

After following Saltbox Kitchen/Saltbox Farm on Instagram for over a year, I decided to stop in for lunch while making a visit to Concord. It's a charming spot--the pictures on here don't do it justice. Friendly staff and good menu (some gluten free options available). I had the chicken Cesar salad and it was fantastic. Will certainly return when I'm in the Concord area next. read more

I really like this place, a great addition to west concord. Coffee is great, and I like that they now serve dinner most nights of the week. I really wish they opened earlier in the morning though, 8am is too late for many people dropping in for coffee at the start of the day. read more

My wife and I were in this morning and had a breakfast tart and an egg, prosciutto, and avocado on toast. They were both fresh and tasty. Price is as expected for farm to table freshness. The restaurant is bright and airy and the kitchen is full view is a nice touch. I'd like to go back and try some of the brews they have on tap. read more

A bright and friendly farm-to-table restaurant, located near the West Concord train station. Definitely a diamond in the rough. A great place to stop for conversation, food, to rest between walking between West Concord shops, or after a trip from Boston on the train. The clean and airy restaurant gives you a sense of fun and excitement, while providing good quality farm-fresh food and great service. I especially enjoyed the salmon with lightly seasoned asparagus and a host of other mouth watering greens. The muffins and cookies were great too, giving off a pleasurable essence of their ingredients, and not loaded with sugar. They're in process of installing their own ale brewery too. A good reason to stop in even more often. read more

This place is terrible! They close for private event on a Saturday night and don't post it anywhere.

Disappointing and overpriced. Portions are small. This is a restaurant that is trying out recipes not mastering them yet. We went there for breakfast last Saturday morning. Ordered a Farm egg sandwich....egg was overcooked & tasteless. Hubby ordered eggs benedict & eggs were undercooked and cold! Cappuccino was great though. B/c eggs were disappointing we ordered an additional english muffin ($6) and and side small green side salad ($6) as extras. Whole bill came to $40! For what we got this was way over priced. Will not revisit. read more

Delicious and healthy! Everything is yummy and locally sourced . I have enjoyed three great lunches at Saltbox. It is quite popular at lunch so allow yourself a little time. The atmosphere is awesome and they have their own beer. read more

After paying $10 for a soggy piece of toast, I asked if it was possible to make a quick egg toast or sandwich because a member of my family has an onion allergy and every prepared dished except the roast carrots had onions in it. The server was nice and asked the kitchen if they could make something, but they said they couldn't. There were eight cooks in the kitchen and eleven customers in the restaurant. I don't understand why it was so hard for one of them to take a second and help someone out who has an allergy and make an egg. Feel free to come here and expect to pay a lot of money for terrible, insensitive customer service. read more

This place is a true gift to foodies in the area. The farm fresh ingredients are expertly prepared in combinations that are delicious and unique. There is something for everyone in the family - my kids love the buratta with grilled toast. Try the roasted cauliflower salad. The clean modern farm decor works well in Concord and the ability to have a glass of wine while enjoying the food of a top Boston chef in this casual take out type setting is an unexpected bonus. Hopefully there will be additional seating in the future as this place won't remain a secret. read more

We tried a few things including the daily specials. The food quality and options were excellent, however it was very crowded and the staff was frazzled. The food was cold and there were three times as many spots to sit as there were chairs. Kinda weird. I'll try it again just because the menu was excellent. read more

Came here to have lunch. It was busy and only had a high top table available by the window. Once we decided to order a wrap and salad, we were told they had run out of the wraps so we had the Monkfish on a bed of cooked lentils instead. Waited an average amount of time got 2 plates. One with a small bed on lentils and two three bite pieces of fish. The other was a salad with apple and raddichio and balsamic vinegrette which only had 4 thin slices of apple and was not well balanced and very bitter. With this and tea and coffee, the total was $35. A little disappointing. We would have not minded the high prices if the food was better and had we been given a little more. Don't think we will return. read more

This place is extremely disappointing and overpriced. While the food is delicious don't bother trying to dine in, especially with children. My sister, nephew and I went there for lunch today and were met with long lines and rude patrons. While their display case looks appetizing, they only have one scale, so ordering anything from there takes at least 20 minutes to order. Their three tables, are first come first serve, and entirely inadequate for a place that serves alcohol. After standing a few moments with two small lunches, two glasses of wine and a baby stroller, one table was clearing. We went to sit only to have it taken by a despicable woman and her man friend. She looked at us with our lunches and wine in hand with a child in a stroller and said, "We'll eat fast." Appalled by her actions, we went and stood by one of their standing room only window counters to eat. A table of three men, who witnessed the exchange, sat next to us with finished meals in front of them. A gentleman would offer their seat to a lady, especially if they'd finished their meal and a lady was standing there with a child, but gentlemen these men were not. They sat there making small chat with their empty plates as my sister, and I stood to eat with my nephew eating from his stroller. For a lunch that cost $50, I will never dine at this establishment again. And as a Concord local, if I ever see that abhorrent woman who took our table again, I will find out her name and publicly shame her for stealing a seat from a child. read more

Came into town from California...our roasted chicken, bean and artichoke salad, grilled hangar steak, roasted cauliflower, winter salad and mustard chicken was out of this world..but, not realizing it, we saved the best for last. Ben, the pastry chef, served us a gluten-free peanut butter/chocolate brownie with homemade Concord jelly ice cream. Wow! What an artist and a gentleman. The latte made with Fazenda roasted beans was to die for. The entire experience gets five stars. Made me feel like I was back in California where the farm to table movement is perfected. Not an aspect of the dining experience has been forgotten. Linen napkins, hotel flatware, great beer and wine, filtered water, Spindrift sparkling water, Demerara sugar, exceptional servers and chefs, top notch food. These guys have it figured out. The best place I have eaten lunch at in the greater Boston area. Wish I lived down the street! Can't wait to come back for cooking lessons at the farm this summer and more great food. read more

Pleasant atmosphere, very friendly staff, wonderful tasty food. Highly recommend. Hyperlocal food sourcing; owner intimately involved with the operation, including food from a family farm. Altogether great, don't miss it if you're anywhere near Concord. read more

This review is based solely on one takeout margherita pizza. First time here and the space looked very cool and hopefully the other choices are better. Both the crust and toppings on the pizza were tasteless...cheese, tomato sauce, bleh. read more

Great coffee, nice assortment of small portions, clean atmosphere, pleasant waitresses. A bit pricey but worth it.

This space is beautiful! Love seeing the talented staff at work in the gorgeous open kitchen, and the open airy space is a lovely setting to spend an afternoon. Really good. Overpriced. So expensive that I think twice before going. Small menu.

Stopped in for an early morning visit just as they opened at 7:00 - so happy to welcome this gem to the neighborhood! I had an unbelievable melt-in-your mouth ginger scone and coffee to go. The friendly service, fresh wildflowers on the rustic tables, and the ingredients all the way to the fresh cream in an original glass quart milk bottle sitting in a bucket of ice, made for a wonderful start to my day. read more

I'm not exactly sure if the other reviewers ate at the same place I did or I just had a horrible first impression. I have been anxiously awaiting to try the new place in town. I went today and ordered the chicken and cucumber salad with Thai Dressing. I asked the waitress if it was a lunch sized salad and she confirmed that it was. To my surprise my $15 dollar salad was 3 small pieces of sliced chicken with 6 cucumber slices and some crushed peanuts. I'm not looking for a buffet sized portion but this was ridiculous. I have had fine dining appetizers for the same price that were larger in size and better in taste. If you eat here expect child size portions for adult prices. read more

I've enjoyed several delicious lunches here - not a single disappointment. Salads are fresh and interesting, meat always perfectly cooked, soups luscious. And the best ginger scones! read more

I had lunch at Saltbox and ordered the Mediterranean salad. I asked for chicken to be added, but they said they couldn't do that. I also got a canned seltzer water. The salad was mostly lettuce and didn't have feta cheese as the menu said it would. It cost $13. Definitely not worth that amount at all. I didn't pay attention when I paid, so I was surprised when I looked at my bank statement today... the total was $16.85, so the can of seltzer was over $3. Definitely not worth it at all. read more
